First time coming here, i was interested in checking out a new health store in the Livonia area and I was ecstatic to see that this place had so many products that I have never heard of and seen before! It's great to come to a health food store that also sells incense , pistachio products, a large variety of dairy-free cheese and so much more! I thought it was cool that they sold bison meat here. I want to make sure that I wasn't at a Jungle Jim's because that's hard to find. The store is a bit pricey but I do believe this has the best selection of food and household goods compare to most health food stores probably within a 50 Mile radius. The staff was very friendly too! I want to give a shout out to a staff member that I saw escorting a elderly man with a cart full of groceries and helping him load his car too! They have a much smaller collection of items compared to the other location in commerce township. The workers were kind but the layout of the store itself seems like a jigsaw puzzle that makes your brain spiral. They do have a station to refill water jugs for water dispensers, so this would be perfect for anyone looking for that. read more

I enjoy shopping here because they have a lot of unique products like vitamins, healthy snacks, soaps and cleaners, and they also have a nice selection of plant based products. The place is always clean and the staff is always very friendly too. I almost never have to wait in line long because staff members are always there to open up another check out station if needed. My only knock would be that some of the products can be a bit more expensive than at other stores, but they do have a loyalty program and you can get some money back after spending a certain amount. Policy horror. I placed an order to be picked up curbside. The order placement online was no problem. Picking up is where things went horribly wrong. The person packing the bag gave no consideration to the fact that 2-32oz glass bottles of castor oil, along with other grocery items should not be packed in 1 bag which is cheap in nature. Interestingly the receipt was marked clearly 2 bags. I am not sure if the person packing my order was lazy, or just lacking training. However, common sense should have informed them that this was a disaster waiting to happen. The act of picking up the bag by its handles caused the bottom to give way, which resulted in 2 bottles of castor oil and all other items crashing to the ground. Glass and castor oil were everywhere, and covering everything. When calling the store to let them know what happened, I was met with the horrifying answer that it was not their problem once I left the store. They were unwilling to do anything for me. What a way to treat a long time customer. In total disbelief at that answer, I drove the 20 minutes back to the store to make sure they understood what had happened. The manager that I spoke to did what she could to make things right. However she could do nothing about compensating me for the ruined clothes I was now left with. She suggested that I send an email to the GM. I did so. After not receiving a response, I went to the store again to meet the GM and try to have them right this wrong. She offered a horrible attitude and tone of voice. According to the Livonia GM, they could offer me $20 store credit or I could dispute with my CC company. I am appalled at their lack of concern regarding my loss, and the cavalier manner in which they treated me. Apparently, they have no concern or respect for customer loyalty, and could care less if their employees use adequate care. They have now lost a customer. Zerbos is not the best deal in town, and for sure not worth driving 20 minutes to patronize after this experience. Customers beware!!! read more

I have been shopping here for 40+ years. On March 16th, 2026 I purchased some broccoli and two packages of gluten free breaded fish. I selected an e- receipt instead of a hard copy and when I looked at it when I got home, I got charged for three packages of fish when I only bought two. No big deal, I thought. When I went back to the store to either get another package of fish or get a refund the manager said they would have to "check the cameras". I was incredulous at his response and when I asked what he meant by they had to "check the cameras", he said " we need to know where these items went". I was made to stand there in the store while he and other personnel went into the back room to "check the cameras". After some time "checking the cameras", another employee came to the checkout desk where I was waiting and initiated a refund to my credit card with no admission that the overcharge was their error nor any apology for treating me like some criminal who was trying to get a free package of fish for $10.79. My advice for the folks who shop there is: don't shop there anymore. Don't patronize these haughty, arrogant, people and take your business elsewhere. read more

I love Zerbos, it's the best place for natural food, holistic advice, ask for Deborah, she is great...but, they all are very nice. Deborah recommended something that cured my mom's cough she's had for 20 years. She had this cough even after seeing multiple doctors. The selection is like none you will find at GNC, Whole Foods, etc. if it's hard to find item, chances are they have it...if it's a good product. They pull off anything off their shelves, if their is a hint on a problem. They are kind of like the old fashion Apothecary you used to find years ago. They have a huge selection of bulk herbs, powders, spices in the back of the store. They also have alkaline water, fresh wheat grass and a big selection of non-allergenic beauty products. Complied with the mask policy only to be harassed and followed from isle to isle by a male employee attempting to regurgitate information from the ever-changing CDC website. Clerk didn't like how my mask fit. My mask COVERED MY NOSE AND MOUTH per socialist policy still in effect in MI. He stood much closer than 6 feet from me in an intimidating manner and kept antagonising me with his running dialogue. Wish I could give zero stars. I approached the customer service desk and informed a blonde female (manager?) of the harassment to which the clerk followed me and attempted to talk over me. I will absolutely NEVER shop Zerbo's again. Disrespected, harassed, zero tact by this clerk, no social skills, zero customer service. No response to my complaint at the CS desk. I was a big fan of this place for a while, they have local products, and they used to have an amazing bulk section. Now they have taken that bulk sections and downgraded it to a plastic container waste center. Yes they do have great choices for holistic, wholesome, organic, and transparent products but I am severely disappointed by the change towards more plastic. This is the wrong direction of our society. We are not talking a small amount of plastic here. It is the most amount of plastic ever. It breaks my heart. I understand the people struggle with the bulk section, but they could have put an attendant there or figured out another way to do it. I used to buy grains, nuts, etc in HUGE bulk however they only sell maybe a pound per plastic container at a time. Its a shame. read more

I want it stated for the record I am not into health food. I am not crazy into new age anything either. Zerbo's has been around forever on Plymouth Rd in Livonia. I never gave it much thought though. Tonight I was out of my cherry juice concentrate and I needed to find some. It was on the way, so in we went. I am not one of those people jumping on bandwagons but really my gout like symptoms have been relieved with an ounce of cherry juice concentrate mixed with Mist free or Sprite Zero whenever it crops up. Geez I sound old but it runs in the family. I think the gout thing started during my first days as a diabetic when I was on a massive protein kick that coincided with the spring asparagus season. Be warned you can indeed eat too much asparagus especially when you are on protein overload to boot. My friends dad said to try it and I have not had to take a pill since so I am for it. They have done some studies that say it helps with blood sugar levels but I have yet to see that effect myself. It does not seem to raise my blood sugar though and gives me a good pack of vitamins to boot so I figure why not. Besides I never get enough fruit in my diet and I kind of like the super tart kick. On to Zerbo's. The store is clean and well organized. People are friendly. My cherry juice is the same spendy it seems to be everywhere but it lasts me a long time. I liked the Burt's bees stuff. I picked up some more tea tree gel stuff that seems to clear up any skin issues nicely too.They carried a decent variety of nut butters that are not peanut but manage to seem enough like it to make me happy without. They feature Ezekiel products and I spied some of my beloved Kenzoil too. I browsed a bit but really wished I had more time to, James was impatient and we had dinner to get to. They seem to carry a bit of everything, not at rock bottom prices but still. I will stop in again sometime. read more

An acquaintance told me to check out Zerbo's selection of bulk grains, and I ended up whiling away hours in this place. Freshly made smoothie in one hand, pushing a cart of had-to-haves with the other (after replacing my original handheld basket with said full-sized buggy shortly after entering the store), I literally closed the place down. Seriously, they flicked the lights on and off! Since that first visit, I've returned for more grains, organic produce, soy margarine, ingredients to make granola, some organic oil, a supplement or two, my Apricot and Almond Kind bars (don't try them - they're hideous and all MINE!!), etc, etc. The staff is friendly and more than willing to lend a hand or give advice. Everything is conveniently located, and if you hesitate in your search, there's usually a staff member nearby to offer assistance. Very nice store have shopped there on and off for over 20 years however my last experience left a bad taste in my mouth went to purchase some green superfood powder.. price on the shelf was $57 and $27 ok that's Amazon priced When it was rung up the total was$161 or $80 per so looking over the purchase I could see both were the same amount weight but one container was smaller than the other... ok maybe it was out of place on the shelf..cashier explained that they offer on the products a 35% discount. Ok the discount was applied and it was about the same as if I shopped online ..my point is it appears rather deceptive that the shelf price is not want initially is rung up but a very overinflated amount appears on the bill and then the discount is applied...I'm sorry don't try and make things appear to be something there not if a product is $56 ring it up a $56 not $80 and try and make one believe they got a great bargain in the process read more

Weird healthy snacks and obscure hippie treats... Why not... They also have a good selection of frozen and prepared foods that would make any PETA loving tree hugger happy to be in Livonia. Cookbooks and various other health-related toys abound. Come for the killer selection of all things healthy. Im in between with this one. Actually my first impression there was absolutely terrible. I had applied there when picking up a few things & showing my mom the store I've heard great things about. The sales people were very pushy on top of that I got charged for an entire case of something, not just One item. Don't get me wrong the store is a nice place at times. The store was clean and in good condition. The prices are pretty inflated. They have good sales if you keep your eye out for the sales tags. The workers can be very helpful. The biggest turn off was my first time in when I went for 4 items and got charged $60. I was talking with the cashier so honestly I didn't think anything of it & I suppose she didn't ether. Im just glad I looked at the receipt. I turned around and walked right back into the store. I handled it appropriately and calmly. I requested a manager and expressed my concern. The woman proceed to take an attitude with me telling me I am handling this immaturity and inappropriately when I was just asking for a correction and to make sure this sort of thing isn't reoccurring. The employees should not be making these type of mistakes. Instead of listening to me or taking my advice or maybe training the employees better she told me shit happens mistakes happen get over it. I should not work in customer service if I can't handle small things like this.. & mind you Sixty Dollars not 1 or even 5.. 60!! Yes, I understand mistakes happen. Ive since gone through various business, ethics & customer service classes as well as been commended at work several times for my customer service skills. The key to successful customer service is recognising the customer is always right! Even if they are incorrect misinformed or not correct they are still right. I have always been treated fairly elsewhere, even at fast food restaurants. It is very beneficial to the business to honour the customer. That IS why You are still in business. Most importantly apologising for the inconvenience (which was Not done) it honestly isn't hard to apologise and make a correction. Possibly even offer something for next visit. From how the situation went it seemed as if it happened quite frequently and was not a big deal.. She did not look shocked nor apologetic to my situation. /: I have gone back just a handful of times. So basically the store is great (if your into health food) large selection of some things but it is overpriced, The sales people can be pushy but pretty helpful and from my only interaction with management their customer service is very poor. Got some juice here while visiting my relatives in a suburb that did not have a juice place for miles. Had to drive a bit to get here but I think it was worth it. The price, juice, and service was standard but I like that you got to create your own. I also really liked the extensive healthy/non-industrialized food options that they had at this store. If for whatever reason I move to Michigan, I am going to make sure I live by a place like Zerbo's to get some real food. It's unfortunate how one woman has to ruin the reviews of this place for everyone. Love Zerbos! I especially love their smoothie bar and soup specials. Makes grabbing a quick and healthy lunch EASY! I always feel like I'm in a big city when I'm shopping at Zerbos. For some reason it just has that kind of feel like its the type of store you would find in Chicago or San Francisco. Maybe its just me, or the wheatgrass is going to my head.... The staff is always helpful when you are looking for certain suppliments or brands. They used to sell more 'zerbo's' stuff, as in they would have portioned powders/nuts/etc. but they've since scaled down so you are more likely to have to buy the pre-branded stuff...just feels less natural and more expensive. The raw taco is the BEST, even my meat eating husband likes this vegan sandwich. The filling is made with ground up walnuts and I asked them if they sold it and they do not but were happy to give me the recipe. I love this store. As you enter, there are prepared foods, fruits and vegetables. This store has so much. I generally come for vitamins, but there is so much more to buy here. They have a section that has frozen foods, healthy foods, health and beauty items, oils, and a juice bar. If you are looking for that difficult grocery item, this place probably has it. The prices are reasonable. The employees are so helpful, too. They recently started a loyalty program, so make sure to sign up. read more

I go here all the time because I work in the area and its really the only place like it in Livonia, so I appreciate them for that. There is a decent selection of organic, free range etc items....the options are somewhat limited limited because it is a smaller store so some things im used to getting at Whole foods aren't available here. There is a HUGE selection of supplements and the people that work in that department are really knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions... especially the guy that there all the time....cant remember his name.... I like the idea of the food bar in the back back of the store but there is ALWAYS a long line and it takes a really long time for your order to be fulfilled...even when you call ahead. Ive waited over 30 minutes for a smoothie...so make sure you go and place your order first and then grocery shop while you wait. Don't go to the food bar if you're in a hurry or looking for something quick. I still go at least once a week because again...again its the only place like it in the area.
