Once the shining caffeine and sandwich beacon awaiting you half way from Hobart to Launceston, now that there's options in Campbell Town for your coffee fix, you might want to rethink your reflex stop in Campbell Town.
There's a huge drinks fridge, a tiny sandwich/wrap shelf, and a largish pastry case, and a warming rack near the register filled with savoury snacks. A few tables are there, but it's clearly for takeaway. The usual coffee and hot chocolate menu, BUT.
The staff is S-L-O-W. Maybe it's because the pace of life in C-Town is slower paced, but boy oh boy. The line usually stretches to the door, and when it's finally your turn, the person behind the counter fidgets, talks to the barista, then usually decides then to restock the case with sausage rolls. You say your order, they ask you "Is that all?" After every item, then misunderstand it. You finally get it right and then you meander around while they slowly (and I mean slowly) make the coffees. When you get them, they are boiling hot and insipid - get it with an extra shot and it turns into hot sludge.
Skip the rude, slow staff and grab your coffee elsewhere in C-Town next time. read more
