Not a bad place to hang out. Unfortunately the day we came major haze due to all the fires raging up and down the coast. Rented wave-runners/jet skis $144 an hour but confined to harbor only. (They wanted to make sure they can spot the skis so limited riding to harbor) FYI to drive one must be 16 with drivers license and to drive a passenger must have license AND driver must be 18.

I would normally give Zephyr Cove five stars because it used to be my favorite beach to take my dog and swim myself. It was $10 to park at the Zephyr Cove Resort and then you would just walk to the right and not to long of a walk to get to the dog friendly side. Unfortunately, they recently placed a fence so even if you park at the resort there is no way to access the dog friendly side from The parking lot which was super frustrating that I paid for nothing. In the past it was always super easy now I just go to Nevada Beach Campground or kiva because it's way easier to bring the dogs. I pay for the convenience of not having to street park and have to get all scratched up to get my little dogs to the beach.

Lovely spot!! We'll be back again! Pristine water and view is amazing! Made my heart smile!

Good spot to bring the family and friends. Able to enjoy the snow capped mountain at a distance with view of paddle boarders boats and trees all around. Gorgeous

It's beautiful because its Tahoe but this beach is not as great as others. There seems to be a lot of a rowdier crowd. The water line was a bit smelly. There was a guy doing jet ski doughnuts almost on the shore. No one regulating what was going on. This beach was great for the dog. Shallow waters. Sunset was beautiful and great place for pictures on rocks.

Nice beach, good location. Plenty of parking in the early to mid-afternoon. We came early, and parked in the campground section where it's pet-friendly. Not a long walk from the parking lot to the beach, although I strongly suggest sandels and water shoes! The beach has a beautiful view from every sitting spot, and lots of rocks if you want to climb them for photo ops or sun-bathing. Random people painting photos on the beach... Very peaceful/serene. I took my dog in the water... The water is cool, not too cold (in late July), and shallow. Even though the beach is beautiful, and the water so crystal clear you can see specks of gold... It's very rough on bare feet... Like lava rock rough. So yeah... Bring some water shoes if you plan to walk in the water. :) Oh... And $8 for the days parking.

Crystal clear waters. Small beaches but you can make it work. If you have your four legged friend with you, you have to go down to the north end where dogs are allowed. They have a ton of picnic tables up and down the beach. Was plenty of parking although we did go on a weekday. A lot of people park right off the highway. Definitely one of my favorite beaches in South Lake Tahoe.

If you are in the area, and are up for a beautiful view, check this place out. Being from Texas, the scenic appeal of Zephyr Cove is surreal. Turquoise waters with tall pines (I think) all along the cove in both directions. Minimal fee for parking, volleyball nets, and a beach bar. We spent the better part of the afternoon at the cove for a post wedding rehearsal get-together. I would go back again in a heartbeat. We went mid-week, and I heard that this place get get a little rowdy on the weekends, especially during college break periods. Take a day off work and relax.

Oh gosh the beauty that was this beach my kids had a blast it was very busy but was easy to find a place to lay out the beach blankets and enjoy the surroundings for hours even the geese we overly friendly and not afraid to come up and steal your food but it was comical gotta love wild life everybody was chill and respectful of the beach rules nothing crazy or too rowdy which is beach goals when you have kids lol .

It gets very busy at this beach, but who cares? It's beautiful anyway! Love how you can go so far out and it's shallow, plus crystal clear

It's magical it's notable that while they will sell you a ticket at heavenly to ride the gondola for $108 you can just walk up to this lookout and see almost exactly the same view. you could stay there as long as you want. Way better than paying for the gondola with a 5 minute loop around a metal platform...Stayed at the Marriott so just walked out the back of the hotel. Or, take a look at my tips to maximize your chances: 1. Reserve your day in advance at www.reservenevada.com to enter before 10:30 AM. 2. If you only realize this during your vacation (instead of a week earlier), you'll have to battle it out at 10:30 AM along with thousands of others. The problem? There's only one lane each way, so you'll end up stuck in an hour-long traffic jam. We left Tahoe City at 9:00 AM on Sunday and still didn't make it in. Part of our group walked in on foot and noticed plenty of empty parking spaces, but when we asked why they weren't opening the gate, the staff told us they'd "open at 5 PM" and even demanded a fee for walking through a park we didn't even plan to stay in (and no, you're not allowed to just walk along the road). Everything besides the natural beauty here is a disaster: - Poorly planned access roads that leave people stuck in traffic for hours, even those not going into the park. - Rude, unhelpful staff who clearly don't care about visitors. - A completely broken system: instead of letting cars in as spaces free up, they just say, "We'll open the gates at 5." At a place this busy, that's unacceptable. I'm giving 1 star not for the park itself, but for its management and staff. Oh, and one more thing: if you finally make it into town and leave your car there, don't count on the shuttle. You'll wait for 2 hours, only for it not to show up - or to arrive full, with staff telling you to "wait for the next one" over and over until your day is wasted. Our situation was even worse: six people with paddleboards. We had to drop off people and gear at a nearby viewpoint (20-minute parking only), then drive back into town, park, and take a $50 taxi ride to meet up with our friends. The nature here is absolutely stunning, but the organization will ruin your day. Plan ahead carefully, since you have no other place with this monopoly.
