underpass to the other side of the street
Sanhsany Aka Sunny S.

I hesitated to put out this review as I love this beach so much and want to keep it to myself. My little secret so to say. Well here goes... Quiet, peaceful, secluded with a small sandy beach area with some rocks and boulders but not so big that would draw a crowd. The water was cool and refreshing without being too cold in late August. We were there right before Labor Day but after kids are back in school so we felt like we have the whole place to ourselves. You do have to walk a short 20 mins distance until you see a small bend that leads to an under pass that connects to the other side. Safe and no need to cross the road. There's some wooden steps that leads down to the water. Clean scenic path revealing the treasures ahead. I highly recommend water shoes and a blanket to lounge on. Bring refreshments and snacks and clean up after yourself please. Don't forget the sunscreen and sunglasses. It is a dog friendly area which is why we chose this spot. We did have to park near a restaurant and pay for parking. After 5pm it's $1 per hour otherwise it's $5-$6 per hour. We had trouble with paying at the kiosk and it ran out of paper. Text message options did not work either :/ nonetheless we paid and took a screen shot as proof. The walking path is paved with a bit of incline/decline but it was easy. I don't recommend high heels but easy with sandals. I can't wait until we are back!

Love this beach! Got there by hiking the east shore biking trail and just took a few stairs down to the beach. Beautiful clear blue water with rocks on the side to climb.

Great dog-friendly public beach near the incline village area. The name is "Hidden" but it is really not hidden at all. Easily accessible from the new Tahoe East Shore Trail (20-30m walk from the parking lot) with paths, steps, signage, and turn-out off the highway. *** this beach does not have any nearby parking space and parking along the highway is not allowed *** The beach itself is like many other tahoe beaches, a bit rocky, sand is a bit coarse, and cold cold water. But don't take me wrong, it's a lovely beach, and everyone will have a great time here.

Beautiful beach on the East shore/Nevada side. Yes, the parking is scarce, dusty, and slightly annoying. And yes, there is a little hike ( also dusty) through the woods and down to the beach. But once you get there, you are greeted by a narrow sandy beach, clear aqua and turquoise waters and smooth rocks. It's a naturally beautiful spot to relax and take in the serenity. It was not empty when we got there mid-morning, but we noticed the crowds picked up even more as time wore on. Be careful when climbing on the rocks, and realize the water will be cold as it is Lake Tahoe (even though it may resemble the waters of the Caribbean here)! The hike back up the hill was a bit of a climb, so older, out of shape people may really struggle. Just don't bring a lot of bags coolers unless you're fit. But don't miss this gem!

Very easy to get to from Tunnel creek cafe walking or biking along the east shore bike trail. Will take you approx. 30 minutes if you walk. It's a "hidden beach" between incline village and sea harbor. We very much enjoyed the beach because it was not crowded. The water was crystal clear and we had a blast climbing on rocks and playing in the water in August.

The first time I came to this beach I was blown away by how crystal clear the water was and how beautiful the sites of the lake were on the quick .40 mile trail down if you find parking in the right spot. The only thing that slightly annoys me are the dogs, which are allowed on this beach. Most of the owners don't care if they run all over your towel or shake water and sand all over you. This is why I try to find a spot close to a baby or people without dogs. I just like this beach because it's simple and free. If you're looking for a nice spot to watch the sunset, Hidden beach is the place to go. It's fairly quiet in the evenings so you can have some alone time to meditate or whatever.

Based on other Yelp reviews, we were determined to find this hidden gem. We parked off Highway 89 just past the residents only parking. The weather wasn't great so we didn't want to spend the money ($10) to park at Sand Harbour, but still wanted to experience the north shore from a beach with turquoise water. To get here you walk along the guard rail to a second set of stairs. The views were stunning, even with the overcast weather! Worth the search!

Hidden Beach is exactly what you think... a hidden Beach between Incline Village and Sand Harbor. It's got the rock formations like Sand Harbor without the crowds. Electric blue water, gorgeous views, and nice locals hanging out and taking a swim. Avoid on the weekends if you hate crowds, Monday through Wednesday is the prime time to get street parking and hike down to the beach. It was a little foggy from the wildfire smoke, but still fun!

There are actually a number of tiny little coves en route to Hidden Beach. Now with the water so low, there's a bit more access to the coves. I like to take my out of town guests here for a photo shoot at sunset. PRO TIPS: Check online for sunset time. Arrive approximately 10 minutes prior and wait 20 minutes after to get the full glory of the sunset colors. Best sunsets happen with a bit of clouds for more color.

I love this place, there are instructions on how to get down to the beach in the free parking area and it has many small coves and beaches to choose from. Follow the trail or stuff can get hairy! It can get difficult with too much stuff so, know your limits for the hike out.

Crystal clear waters

Hidden beach is super beautiful and an awesome spot if you want to be secluded from people. The water is jaw dropping clear and there's a bunch of different beach spots to pick from. But the only downside is parking!! Gosh there is hardly any parking for miles on either end of the beach but then again I guess that's why they call it "hidden beach" Tip: if you want a parking spot that's not super far away go early in the morning or don't go on the weekends

Just relaxing!

This place is beautiful! A bit hard to find parking and there's a short hike down to the "hidden beach"..but once you get through those two obstacles the beach is AMAZING! This place is dog friendly and family oriented..no crazy ragers. The entrance is to the left of a few cabins along the the HWY and once you enter keep left down the trail for about 1/4 mile, you'll walk along the fence and rear right at the end and youll see a sign for hidden beach, after you'll see a flight of wooden stairs tht will take down to the "hidden beach". Have fun!!

A small place of paradise!!!

Skunk Harbor not only combines all of these wonderful attributes but also throws in a bit of history for you to check out too! Parking is FREE but limited, located at a turnoff along HWY 28 about a few miles north of the Spooner/HWY 50 junction - look for an old green pipe gate which is also the entrance to the trailhead (do NOT park in front of gate, you WILL be fined). After you park, grab your gear (keep in mind there are NO facilities - take out what you take in). Travel along the old dirt road on the other side of the green gate through the Tahoe forest. When you reach the fork in the road you have 2 choices: left fork leads to Prey Meadows which is blanketed with many varieties of wildflowers in the spring anddd right fork leads you to Skunk Harbor. Throughout your hike down to Skunk Harbor take in the breathtaking picture worthy views all around. Upon your arrival to the beach be sure to find the historical remants of an old railroad ramp used to supply timber to Virginia City after the Comstock Lode plus an abandoned stone house along the waters edge with historical markers from the 1920s that belonged to the wealthy family of George Newhall built as a summer house here for vacations and parties. Everything was brought in by boat, during the Roaring Twenties ~ WOW!! This is a MUST DO!! Hike is roughly 3 miles round trip, I always enjoy an adventure / hike with a reward at the end, Skunk Harbor not only has this throughout but pays off at the end. Be prepared for a bit of workout on the way back out as it is uphill and can be exposed depending on time and season/weather. So bring plenty of H20 and take your time but this hidden gem is worth it!!

My favorite spot to hang out and enjoy Lake Tahoe's pristine waters. If you get there early enough…read moreand don't do in the dead of summer, you'll have a good shot of having it all to yourself. My last 3 trips have resulted in me being the only one down there for a solid couple hours. The trail and beach are dog friendly, so bring your companion along with you. It's a short hike in and out but beware, your going up and up on the way out. Nothing impossibly difficult, but it can wind you. Other than that, go out and enjoy it. Leave no trace, respect the historic building down there, and don't feed the wildlife. Oh, by the way, parking can be a pain. There's only room for maybe 6-7 cars if they cozy up with one another. So like I said above, getting here early is key.
