I reached out to make an appointment. I identified several areas of interest (fine lines, volume loss, and melasma), but the primary interest was a particular peel to treat melasma. The scheduler responded via email with two available times. I emailed back and selected one. I then followed up with another question about the melasma and peel. Flash forward to the date I selected and I drive 25mins to the appointment and was told I wasn't on the books (after a very surprised/shocked look when I walked in the door, which is typical when in spaces where black people are not often present). I was then told that the doctor doesn't treat melasma, which is patently untrue because one of the primary purposes of the peel they offer (per the makers of the peels brochure and website) is the treatment of melasma. So by offering the peel, you are offering a treatment for melasma. Additionally, I had other issues outside of the melasma. But I guess they had no interest in my business for those apparently (which seems very suspicious. Does the doctor not treat melasma or is the doctor uncomfortable treating darker/black skin?). What made it worthy of a one star review however was the fact that the scheduler said, "I called you and told you the doctor does not treat melasma." Ummm, ma'am. You absolutely did not. You did not call, we did not speak. And in turn, you wasted an hour of my time. This office needs to do better. read more
