Service is good and fast, nothing too fluffy, but for a quick lunch, it works entirely. I ordered off of the express menu (student on a budget), and I got salmon sushi and chicken yakitori. In terms of value, I don't think this place can be beat. I got a salad and a soup, both satisfying (the salad was surprisingly good, and larger than expected, the soup left nothing to be desired, but wasn't particularly outstanding either). The sushi arrived, moist rice and the fish seemed fresh. I'd prefer a bit more ginger than they gave me, but this isn't the end of the world (and if you're desperate, I see other diners requesting additional ginger). Watch the soy sauce, I accidentally used the sweet soy sauce, which isn't bad, but I'm not used to the flavor. Overall the sushi was satisfying, definitely worth the price.
The yakitori was mixed. My combo included a chicken, and chicken ball. The chicken was textured nicely, but the flavor was somewhat bland and boring. The chicken ball was definitely my preferred type, as it was very moist and tender, and seasoned well.
All in all, a great deal in terms of value. It's not going to win a Michelin star, but it's a good staple to be aware of if you're on a budget and tired of the typical French affair. read more
