I've been to many gyms over the years, but Zenith gym in West Covina is by far one of my favorites. The news was everywhere. Posts, reposts & stories about a new gym opening up in West Covina. Some of my favorite trainers in the area had already made the move and so I couldn't wait to try it. Over this past weekend, I stopped in with a few friends to check it out and we had a phenomenal workout & overall experience. There was plenty of parking and access was simple. I was able to get in immediately and tour the facility and it was nothing short of amazing. The gym floor was super aesthetic & the equipment was high quality. With plans for further expansion, this gym is perfect for anyone's goals. The hyrox/crossfit section is massive and has a completely different feel. Wide roll up doors & open floor plan make you feel like you can do any athletic movements without encroaching on anyone else. Now comes my favorite part (one that you can't hide or fake), the people! I had such a great time meeting new athletes and making friends. Everyone was super upbeat and positive yet still focused on their personal goals. The trainers mixed in with the athletes effortlessly and didn't make me feel out of place. I even had a chance to meet with the owner who took his time to get feedback from me about the gym. It is so clear to me that the staff and ownership at Zenith gym have poured their blood sweat and tears into making an incredible gym environment. Having the flexibility to work out whenever works best for my schedule is a huge plus. The gym is also extremely clean and well-maintained, which makes a big difference. I have my own programming so I like to look for places that offer open gym and I found that not many gyms have that option. I then searched and found Crossfit West Covina. Not only did they offer what I was looking for but the facility itself is really well equipped with a lifting area at the back and a lot of outdoor space as well. I drove around the block billions of times, parked and left another billion, before finally just going for it. The second I actually set foot inside all of those billions were insignificant. This place is a gold mine! Between the camaraderie and the expertise of the trainers, I can honestly say I've never felt more comfortable and motivated to stay dedicated to my fitness goals. Everybody has their favorite trainers (mine are Coach Juan and Coach Marcus). Both of them bring an intense focus to form, balancing that with the motivation to push yourself at a safe level. There are days where I'm not feeling 100% and almost instinctively they encourage us to challenge ourselves where we are, to have a good time and enjoy the workout. I've been working out for a long time ... martial arts, different gyms, different sports ... and I can honestly say in the space of about two months, I've learned some things about my form that have changed my life. I think other places have more of a "boot camp" feel, where you're practically denigrated if you're not vomiting by the end of your workout. CFWC feels like home, and with the coaches strong focus on safety and form, it definitely feels like a place where the goal is your success, no matter where you are on your fitness journey. read more

Where do I start with this box. This gym has felt like home to me for the past 4 years. After hopping from box to box I finally was able to call CrossFit West Covina home after one of their Saturday morning comp classes. The energy that this gym gives off is electric and contagious. Like with all gyms some members have come and gone, but the amount of dedicated and loyal members surpasses that of other gyms around creating a real family like atmosphere. The level of coaching here at this gym is exceptional. These coaches are athletes as well as everyday professionals outside of the gym. They spend hours a day dedicated to their craft and want to learn how to help people look and feel their best. Coach Eric, Coach Baby, Coach Marty, and Coach Drew all know how to push you in a way you wouldn't be able to on your own or at a 24 hr Fitness. They know how to create an atmosphere of learning and inspiration. They offer two different classes: CrossFit and Sweat. I love them both! Ideally CrossFit is better for me because it is slower pace and focuses more learning how to lift with good form. Sweat class is my favorite. This is a high intensity interval class meant to get you sweaty and burning tons of calories. Both are great for beginners and competitive athletes alike. In fact that is why I love it here. There is a unique mix of individuals from competitive to beginners, young and old! The staff makes you feel like they really care, even going the distance to text you to catch up or invite you to random nights out with the gang. Given this whole Quarantine 2020 business, they can't open their doors to the public for a bit, but that won't stop them from helping others in their health and fitness journeys. Not only are they doing equipment rentals (something no gym would ever do) but they are also holding live classes online for their members!!! He meets you where you are at and is dedicated to making sure you have all the technique down correctly. Coach Marcos will push you to your limits and bring out your competitive side. Members range from veteran crossfiters to people just starting out. They have both crossfit classes and SWEAT classes and open gym throughout the day. I have been traveling to the area for work (City of Hope) over the past month and I've dropped into a handful of gyms in the area. West Covina is bar far my favorite. I particularly liked the community, where everyone was friendly and there was a wide variety of skill levels from beginners to advanced athletes. The coaches took particular interest in the athletes to ensure they were motivated and and checking positions and movement patterns.
