This is the best powerlifting gym in the area by far. The facility has a tremendous amount of room with a ton of combo racks, deadlift platforms, plate loaded machines, and a ton of free weights. It has everything you could need. All the members are welcoming and staff are super nice and will go out of their way to greet you and make you feel welcome. Lots of safe and convenient parking and 24 hour access is a nice bonus as well. read more

I've been coming here for about 3-4 years now, I think--and there's nothing else like it in the area. One of the things I love most is the sense of community: everyone greets each other with a fist bump and does the same when leaving, whether you know each other or not. When someone's going for a PR, people pause their workouts to watch and show support. It has 24-hour access with a key fob, and it recently got a nice makeover too. They even keep the fridge and shelves stocked with sour candies and energy drinks. Great place to hang out even if you're not there to work out. This place is awesome. read more

I recently moved to California a couple of months ago and was in a search of a powerlifting gym to go to. Luckily, I came across Hidden Strength. The space itself is very spacious and not cramped at all. They have 6 comp racks which are in great condition and 4 deadlift platforms! Typically powerlifting gyms only have 2-3 racks so this alone grabbed my attention. The gym is clean and well kept and has 24 hour access (also another plus). The community is inclusive and supportive and has made the transition very easy. If you're in the area definitely stop by and check them out! 10/10 read more

Firstly let me just start off with the fact that I have always really hated going to the gym but this place made me enjoy coming to the gym all the time!! I've always been very intimidated to go to the gym and to be honest I never thought I would set foot into a gym like this. I'm so glad to have found hidden strength! The staff members are all friendly and helpful. I've never felt embarrassed to ask questions or seek for help. They genuinely want to help you meet your goals! I love that there's never a wait to use the equipment I need for the day. The overall environment is friendly and motivating. I've met so many new people that I love seeing at the gym each day. I was in SoCal for a short amount of time and wanted to see if there was a gym that offered a day pass in my area. I emailed them and they offered $10 (it's usually $15) because there was some construction in the gym at the time. I went there on a Tuesday afternoon and there was only one other person there! It's a great powerlifting gym - I've never seen so many available squat racks, deadlift platforms and bench presses. Lots of free weights too. The only thing that they don't have much of are cardio machines (there's only one bike). I eventually went there 3 more times! Shoutout to Jesus, who offered me a week pass for only $20. If I lived in the area I would definitely get a membership here! One thing to note: It was previously $40 a month but they've increased it to $50 a month as of December 2019. read more

It was my first time at a powerlifting gym and I loved it! I had a training session with Brandon and he taught me step by step how to deadlift and bench press. He was so patient with me, encouraging, and responded to all my questions (I had a lot) with a positive attitude. Super knowledgeable with a strong passion to help others improve their technique so they can reach their goals. We also did goblet squats, then biceps and triceps on the cable machine. The next day, I felt muscles I didn't even know I had . At the end of the session, I felt incredibly excited and confident to do these exercises on my own! The gym itself is a hidden gem. You're naturally motivated by those training around you, and there's a board where all members write their names and their 1RM, so there's a healthy level of competition to keep you going, both with yourself and others. It's fully equipped, well-ventilated, and people are respectful and supportive. Highly recommend Hidden Strength to anyone who currently powerlifts or is interested in learning more about it! read more

There are a lot of great things to say about working out here. 24 hour access and very private An abundance of very nice & upkept equipment I've never had to wait for equipment/racks Plenty of space Bathroom is always clean Meal preps, energy drinks Meets and events often Owner is awesome, everyone is welcoming, friendly, good gym etiquette and picks up after themselves Probably best described as your own private gym except you share it with a couple of your friends. You can tell the owner puts in a lot of work and care. I will add that this is gym is oriented towards people with specific and particular goals (powerlifting, oly, etc) so it might not be for everyone and you won't find a ton of machines, but it's everything I could want. read more

Probably the nearest thing to a comp Bench. They have multiple deadlift platforms and they have multiple bars you can use. Dead lift and bench bars which is cool. If you are weird like me and like the sound of metal plates clanking each other than this place is for you. All metal plates!! As a socially awkward guy, I usually keep to myself at commercial gyms. In fact, most people do, but the moment you step away from one, things change. You see, when you go to smaller gyms, you're now part of a community, even if you don't sign up for additional training sessions, and it's not even a bad thing. Hidden Strength is the same exact way. What it lacks in equipment, they make up for in their community. Every person here is willing to hype you up when you push yourself, and they're all really excited to push themselves. Since the crew are close to one another, there might be a lot of inside jokes you won't pick up immediately. Overall, I'd recommend this place if you're a Powerlifter. There's a good number of squat racks, and a variety of barbells with different knurling depending on the type of lifting you do. There's also a trap, and a camber bar... The latter for some reason, I wasn't aware of until my last day (You can't miss it). Other equipment include cables, resistance bands, benches, free weights, one Rogue Echo bike, sleds, deadlift platforms, one tire, and battle ropes (May have missed some things, see Camber Bar example). Like most warehouse gyms, it gets really hot, so keep hydrated. If you're super new to going to gyms, the lack of equipment may throw you off, and make you feel like it's not enough, but again, the people here are always willing to help. I ended up keeping my commercial gym so that I could do additional accessory work to compliment my bigger lifts. Unfortunately for me, HSG is a summer fling I had to break up with since I'll be moving back to the OC soon. Overall, it's a great gym, check them out! read more

I've been going to HSG for almost a year now and I've never had a bad experience. The owners are some of the most humble individuals who are always willing to chat about anything aside from what happens in the gym. Every member is unique and every one is willing to strike a conversation with you. If you need tips or a spot, I've never found anyone who was not willing. There's plenty of equipment and space here to fit any workout needs from Oly to powerlifting to crossfit. I cannot recommend this gym any higher because of how great it is already is. Hands down the best gym in the area, especially for aspiring and already pretty, pretty goodt powerlifters. Has everything you'll need to increase strength and performance. The staff is hands down the most courteous, friendly and willing to help staff you'll find at any gym. Need a spot? They got you. Need a caffeine pick me up, look no further than the energy drink fridge. Want someone to slap you before you lift for hype...eh they might do it but you'll probably need to sign an additional waiver. Clientele is on par with the staff, they'll spot you, critique you, and offer any and all help you could ask for. You'll never encounter a better facility, better staff or better lifters. Hidden Strength isn't just a gym with lifters, it's house of iron with a very, very strong family. read more

I was able to visit this gym since my friend goes here. The front area is very clean and they do sell refreshments so grab some if you need. This is mainly a powerlifting gym it seems. They do have some weights and machines to work other parts too. When you step in, on the left side of the gym theres a white board with peoples one rep max. If i remember correctly they also supply you with clips for bars. They have a deadlift platform and several squat racks. Regular weights and also ones in kilos. When i went it was early so no one was there which was nice so i can enjoy the gym. Its a really nice gym and they have everything you need to get a good work out in. Too bad i live very far from here or i would definitely start a membership! read more

At first, I got a membership here because it was relatively close to my house. Despite the size of the gym, I didn't mind that because I like intimate spaces. However, after repeatedly going, I realized how much lack of equipment there is. I found myself having to "work in" one of 2 bench press machines. I don't have a problem with that, but when I'm paying $40 a month, I find that a little ridiculous. It's not very clean, also needs some updating. The members that go here look like little sumo wrestlers. For the price, it's definitely not worth your money. I'd go elsewhere to LA Fitness, or even Fitness 19!!! read more
