Apex is such a great gym. I've worked out consistently for the last ten years. I've lost plenty of weight and gained a lot of muscle over the years. But when I go to the gym I stick my same Routine and stop gaining and just keep maintaining. The owner's Perla and elder are really good at pushing you to your limit. They treat you like there family. They come up with different work outs every single week and I really feel a difference in the last few months I've been here compared to working out at the gym with my friends or alone. I came to visit this boot camp to see what it's like. It's located right next door to the Laugh Factory. The coaches were welcoming and Perla gave me a quick intro to the facility after I signed all the release forms. She showed me how things were run, where things were located. Elder & Perla were quick to correct my form if I was doing it wrong. They will push you to your max ability, and I was really worn out after the workout - which is a good thing. I was working out muscles I didn't know I had. lol Parking can potentially be a pain in the rear, I came for a morning class when there are plenty of spots available on Citrus, but if you come later in the day, I reckon that parking would be hard to find. read more

This place is probably one of the best gyms I've ever been to. I was at F45 for about seven months, and the trainers there didn't really focus on form or how to work around injuries. In contrast, Perla and Elder always noticed when someone needed a modification and consistently corrected our form. In just four months, my legs became noticeably toned, and my body started transforming into something I was genuinely happy with. I lost almost 30 pounds and was coming in consistently about four to six days a week. Perla and Elder kept us accountable and matched the dedication we gave them. In my four months here, I've seen bigger and better results than I did in seven months at F45. The classes aren't easy--especially that first week--but that's exactly what got me to where I am now. This is a great gym studio to go to when you want to switch up your workout routine from time to time. Please keep in mind this review is based on through my Class Pass visit. This gym studio is also convenient for me since me and wife just moved to West Covina more than a year ago and we wanted to build our community here. I took a class today for a full body workout (but focusing more on legs and conditioning) with Perla Mazariegos. This is my second time taking her class through Class Pass and she has been a great instructor with full of energy! Perla was very friendly, kind, encouraging, attentive, and helpful. She was always making sure everyone was in proper good form when everyone is doing the exercises and she keeps everyone motivated throughout the session. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone especially if you need a quick full body workout! Perla will put you to work, but not just push you, but in a very supporting, encouraging, and motivational way. I was hesitant to start a boot camp. I've always worked out on my own. Well, until I broke my knee in two places and tore my meniscus, ACL and MCL. Being out of commission for 3 months and then returning to basic walking was difficult. My girlfriend and I joined APEX 2 months ago and I have to say, best decision of my life. I knew it the first day when we attended class and my heart wanted to jump out of my chest. Great workouts, happy people and Elder and Perla are down to earth owners and trainers. Always friendly and ready to challenge you to do better. So, not after two months. I can run again. Core and body feels amazing. We plan on continuing to challenge ourselves and keep on keeping on with APEX and the whole team. If you're on the fence about joining. I did a month of unlimited classes to this bootcamp through Groupon. It was $35 I believe but Groupon always has coupons. I do not like working out at the gym alone. I never know what to do and I kind of give up when I'm tired. I really enjoyed coming to Apex because it kept me accountable and I never had to think up my own workouts. Each day is designated to different body parts; so if you can only make it Monday and Wednesday you get a different rotation of body parts worked out compared to last week. The owner Elder and his wife are very positive and are great with motivating people. They're patient and are good about teaching you the movements if you've never done them before. Each class is about 50 minutes long so there's really no excuse not to come. I went to mostly morning classes and those are the best in my opinion. There's usually only one or two other people there and you basically get one on one training. I've been to one evening class if I saw that some people brought their kids and the kids hung out in an corner where the parents can still watch them and workout. You do sign a waiver that it's okay for you to be recorded while working out so just be wary of that. read more

I recommend this CrossFit Boot Camp. Elder and Perla (Owners/Trainers) are honest people. They are encouraging and attentive. Within my 6months of starting here, I've had minor injuries with my ankle and lower back. Even with other people in class they remember, and instruct alternate exercises I can do to accommodate my injuries. The classes are challenging, but doable. The environment is clean and friendly. I wanted to like this place i really did! First impression my first time here, place wreaked like SMOKE! I asked the gentleman who greeted me why it smelled like smoke. He acted surprised. He said "maybe it's because we just worked out and it's hot in here." I said no it smells like smoke. He said "yeah look it's just hot in here" as he opens the doors to air out the smell. Anyway I proceeded with my workout but had to keep stopping as the smell was bothering my throat. My friend came to workout with me and she noticed the smell too. So much so she was feeling sick during her workout. I'm not sure if someone who frequents this place is a smoker and brought the stench in so much so that it's in the walls or if maybe it's attached to a smoke shop. But I definitely not be back to workout in those conditions. My lungs are important to me! read more

I've been a member at Apex Boot Camp family for over a year now and I absolutely love it and recommend this place very highly and without any reservations. I was overweight when I started, but with the HIIT work-outs that includes cardio, weight training and stretching exercises I lost the 25 LBS I needed to lose in about 6 months and added in much needed muscle mass/strength to both my upper body and legs. I started my weight loss journey on April 05 2021 with Apex Boot Camp, as a stay at home mom I would make so many excuses for me not to work out and not change my life style. My first boot camp ever and at first I was a bit concerned about the classes being too hard for me but the trainers work with you and will never push you to do more than you can do. The staff is very friendly and professional and keep you motivated. My husband and I started APEX towards the end of December 2020, with an expectation of the standard boot camp stigmas. Well surprisingly it isn't like other boot camps, they don't have you compete with anyone but yourself (if that is what you like, this isn't the place).
