We ordered a round of drinks, with my husband abstaining from having anything. We drank half our drinks, and then the waitress came out to tell us that everyone must order something (looking at my husband) or we were not welcome to use the table (or else my husband must leave). I was dumbfounded. Three of four people were ordering drinks, and were prepared to order more, when she tells us my husband he is not welcome to sit with us since he hasn't ordered anything. I was furious - as I have never had an experience like this at any restaurant in the world - and spoke to the manager (who watched me tear the poor waitress a new one, refusing to present himself until I demanded), asking him if he believed this was a viable business strategy, given there was NO ONE else in his restaurant. He seems to continue to believe it is. Do NOT patronize this establishment unless you want to have the worst, most unwelcoming experience in all of Switzerland. However, I doubt they'll be open much longer with this idiotic policy of booting out 3 customers because a fourth isn't interested in drinking. Good luck with that, Monsieur.
