My massage therapist yesterday did an excellent job of addressing my pain, and still was able to do a full body massage. He moved pretty quickly and didn't do a lot of verbal communication, so some people might feel uncomfortable with that. His movements were quicker than I'm used to, I'm used to being able to coordinate my breath with the movements. But he got a full body massage done, and it's the next day and I am 80% pain-free.

Yelp reviews motivated me to call Alternative Concepts! I was extremely thankful Shelly could get me in the same day. I appreciate therapist who keep one open appointment for "emergencies." It doesn't work for everyone, but I really appreciate it! It's not like I "schedule" my headaches. I try to get a massage every month, so this isn't something knew I decided to "experience." However, the thorough treatment as well as accomplishing the "goal" (relieve the headache!) was over the top! I told everyone it was in the top 3 best massages I've ever had....though I can't remember the other two, lol! The criteria that I'm using to give her five stars is: cleanliness, adequate pressure to get the job done, knowledge of the body/muscles, balanced conversation, overall experience.

Great Massage, But Aggressive Tipping Pressure Ruined It…read more I walked in for a 90-minute massage at WFS Massage and was greeted politely by Tina, who showed me to the room. She returned about 15 minutes later (apologized "for being late"), and while the actual massage was excellent--one of the best I've had in years--it ended roughly 10 minutes early. The session felt rushed toward the end. The real issue came with tipping and payment. The advertised rate is $100 for 90 minutes (plus tax, making it $105). I tipped $50--a generous 50%--but Tina seemed very disappointed and pressed for more, saying she usually gets $60 tip for an hour (implying even more for 90 minutes). She became confrontational, comparing me to her other customers who tip higher. When paying at the counter, there was confusion over change (language barrier didn't help), and the manager/owner? joined in, escalating things. They positioned themselves in a way that felt blocking, and despite yielding somewhat, paying well over the service cost (total around $175+ including the large tip), they still pushed for more with overflowing sarcastic "thank yous" as I left. A strong massage shouldn't come with guilt-tripping or high-pressure tactics over tips. Standard tipping etiquette for massages is 15-20% (higher for exceptional service), and $50 on $105 was already well above that. If the business relies so heavily on outsized tips to make up for low base prices, they should be upfront about expectations. I won't return, and I'd advise others to clarify all costs--including expected tips--before starting. There are plenty of legitimate massage options in Greeley that treat customers with respect and transparency.
