Chocolate mousse... looks pretty but taste is about a 4/10

This will be quick.... this place is overpriced and mediocre at best. The service is lacking. I had to ask several times for refills that kept being forgotten. I wasn't told refills were not free on sodas. At almost $6 a soda, give me a bigger glass and not a 5oz. wine glass of mostly ice! Sushi is comparable to grocery store bought sushi. Panda express taste so much better and I question if some of the food was brought in by Panda Express. Dessert is pretty, but don't be deceived. Zen please improve the quality of your food or lower your prices to the level of mediocrity it is and train your employees to be more informative and attentive. Maybe the servers don't work as much as they should for tips because 20 percent gratuity is already included on your check. Another strike against this place....

The service provided by the servers was exceptional, as they were attentive, quick, and efficient. However, the overall rating of the establishment suffered due to the quality of the food. Personally, I found the food to be both overpriced and lacking in flavor, with the exception of the bock choy which was quite tasty. Unfortunately, the salmon nigiri was particularly disappointing and did not meet expectations, especially considering its higher price. Additionally, it is worth noting that if you plan to visit Zen, it is advisable to simply walk over rather than relying on the RSVP app for accurate information. During my visit, I was the only customer dining at 9pm, and the restaurant unexpectedly closed early while I was still there. Interestingly, my coworker and his wife had made reservations for 9:15pm through the app, but when they arrived at 7:30pm, they were allowed to dine earlier as there were no other patrons present. They also agree'd it could have been so much better and would not try it again. Given my experience, I would recommend exploring other dining options within the hotel compound if you have the opportunity to do so. For the restaurant, I would recommended reviewing the offerings you have and the quality of those items. Maybe have some blind studies on the menu, ask a local Yelp team to host elite evet to get honest feedback.

i visited this restaurant while staying at the Omni. i made a reservation for the first available 845, and received a call that my table was ready at 815 so i hustled down. (table for 1) i waited maybe 15 minutes before i was greeted by a server which was frustrating after rushing down early. ordered a glass of wine and then had the ginger salad. The ginger salad was good, very different than the traditional due to the type of fresh greens they use rather than iceberg and the pickled onions which added a nice touch. Then I ordered a sushi roll. The overall timing of the order and arrival for food left room for improvement as again I waited patiently. The roll was pretty good. I closed out my check at 9:45 and was ready for bed. Would not revisit as there are so many other options that provide more attentive service but it was convenient to have this option at the resort.

I will start by saying the service was great! Everyone was very friendly and always smiling. The calamari was great, and we were surprised with the dessert for our anniversary. The appetizer and dessert were probably the best parts of our meal. The drinks were ok. The entrees were pretty bland for the most part, and pretty over priced for the quality.

They accommodated our large party well.... Duck ramen was amazing. Service was fast. Abit overpriced but it's a given being that it's inside a resort. Our server- Maylee shared the same name as our daughter and made her feel very special celebrating her birthday!

The service was excellent, soo good I added 10% on top of the 18% gratuity for being in a large group. The atmosphere was professional pseudo-upscale wo the stuffy vibe. I went there two nights for dinner during a conference and each experience was the same. The Sea Bass w Black Rice was absolutely great. I recommend highly. The fish was most all the way through it nearly melted in my mouth and the black rice is life changing. I've had black rice before but never this good. The serving night I had Gen Tso Chicken w fried rice which was good even for $26. The green beans that came was crunchy for my taste but not bad. I ordered the Smokey Manhattan it was great and dessert I had David's Cup (decaf) again great. Great restaurant for groups up to 10, date night, and families or business.

After a long day at Universal Studios, we went back to the hotel to enjoy a meal. The food was seasoned well but pretty average. I did like the sea bass quite a bit, so I had to add a star for that. The service was great. Our server was very personable and nice to talk with. It was quiet while we were there but would probably be average noise level at dinner rush time. We came in about 30 min from closing but never felt rushed at all. Not a bad choice for hotel guests.

I wish I would've saved my $50 + tip for 2 rolls and went to Trevi's for dinner instead. I've had better Shrimp tempura rolls at Publix and that says a lot! I have sushi/sushami from some very nice high-end restaurants with great chefs pretty regularly so I have a knack for quality food. Something is off about their rolls and I can't quite comprehend what is missing. The only reason I give 2 stars is because the staff were nice, they gave me ample napkins and such for my to-go order. This was supposed to be a late night snack (9:30pm) by the pool with a couple of cocktails. The cocktails from the pool bar was the highlight of our dinner, not the sushi.

I had Laura as my server. I orders chicken lo mein, but it ended up with coming no chicken. I'm no Karen, so I did not mind. Laura was extremely nice and was eager to fix it. I was okay to just add the chicken and call it a day. The chef took pride in her work and brought out a brand new plate. It was 8:50 and they close at 9. I cannot say I'd do the same after working all day right before close. Overall my experience with the employees and food was a 5/5.

Delicious sushi! Wish I had taken more photos but we were starving! Highly recommend if staying in the resort. Our waiter forgot to bring us our wine but gave us Wakame salad for free to make up for it! Otherwise he was very attentive and gave great recommendations. The red dragon roll is amazing!!! Highly recommended!!

We were told that we had to replace it or still pay for the food that was inedible in our opinion. Forcing a guest to buy a replacement is something that neither of us has never experienced. Until this visit, we have always enjoyed our dining experience. Being forced to either pay for food we found inedible or pay to replace it with something else is just wrong. Most all of their dishes are delightful, but just be aware that if you do not care for the meal that you ordered, be prepared to be forced to pay for a replacement. They took our original order off of the check but told us we had no choice, but to replace it.

The chicken roll my husband had was surprisingly flavorful as well. Juicy chicken and spicy mayo made for a nice roll. The gyoza was a great starter, nice crispy pan sear and packed with meat for the price. Everything was perfect I would come back and probably order to go. The prices were very fair and worth the portions given. My combo came with 3 rolls soup and salad for $18, that's a great deal!! Lunch has special deals as well worth checking out. Now for the food! We had gotten the beef skewer and chicken skewers as appetizers and let me tell you they were probably the best meat skewers that I've had in a Izakaya style Japanese restaurant. The steak was so tender and had great flavor, same with the chicken! The sauce was good, maybe a bit too heavy on the sauce but good pairing! 5/5 The tuna flight was . It did have a slight kick to it but I liked it. Distinguished Gentleman: was great. The meat was tender and it had good flavor and my kids enjoyed it as a more kid friendly sushi, but I also enjoyed one bite that I was able to sneak before the kids devoured it. Shrimp Tempura roll (specially made for allergies): Standard goodness! I also almost forgot, I had gotten King Salmon nigiri and also eel nigiri, salmon was good! Normal salmon vibes 4/5 but the eel...probably the most disappointing menu item tbh. Tasted like the frozen Asian grocery store eel, just underwhelming and not a little tough. 2/5 wouldn't order again. but Overall, it was everything was great, we had good service and good food! Naomi at the front was amazing--welcoming, professional, and set the tone the right way both nights. The manager was also phenomenal each evening and clearly takes pride in the operation. Jose behind the bar is a nice guy and can absolutely make a solid drink. That said, the service at the bar didn't match what you'd expect from a place aiming for a higher-end, Michelin-style experience--especially when I was the only person sitting there. There just wasn't that elevated level of attention or engagement you'd expect. Food-wise, night one was incredible. The sea bass was one of the best dishes I've ever had--perfectly cooked, balanced, and memorable. Night two told a different story. The scallops were overcooked, though still had good flavor. What stood out more was that I wasn't checked on until I was literally on my last scallop... again, as the only guest at the bar. My honest takeaway: if you go in expecting a Michelin-level experience, make that known upfront and I'm sure you'll be taken care of. But the real question is--should you have to ask for that? There's a lot of potential here, and some things they're doing extremely well. Just needs consistency across both the kitchen and the guest experience. Nestled in a well appointed boutique hotel the ambiance and welcoming is fantastic, definitely a must try in the area!
