I first came here in July 2023, hoping to deal with decades of sun damage. Eunice got rid of a lot of hyperpigmentation on my face using IPL treatments. I'm not going to lie, it was a bit painful (and HOT) at times, but I definitely think the results were worth it. I'm too embarrassed to post pictures, so you'll just have to take my word for it. I started coming to Zen in August this year. My friend recommended this place to me because I had some concerns with the amount of sunspots I was getting and I was also developing bumpy/skin tags on the side of my face. I naturally freckles but it also seemed like my freckles was getting darker as well. Eunice recommended a few laser treatments, I agreed with the treatment plan and bought a package. I often get asked if lasering hurts- and my answer is HELL YES! But the pain is temporary and you know what they say- no pain no gain. It feels like a sunburn after lasering, and the scaring looks a bit scary. And you might think oh no- what if this is permanent- but eventually after 7-10 days the scars come off and immediately even after the first treatment, I noticed a big difference. Now I've done a total of 3 lasering treats (picture attached) and my face is alot smoother, my pores have shrunken, sunspots/freckles have faded away. I still have some my freckles- but they are alot lighter than before, but the freckles are hereditary and I wasn't looking to get rid of all of it. A lot of my friends and family have noticed a huge difference in my skin. I've bought endless serums and lotions and cremes to try and brighten/lighten the sunspots for years and it has never worked. THIS WORKS. And now I feel like my skin absorbs the serums and crème's and lotions better. I know firsthand that coming here and doing the treatment will improve your skin. I had fantastic results after just one IPL session here! I highly recommend Eunice to everyone I know and have already gotten a friend to book her 1st IPL appointment here after seeing my results. I found out about Zen Aesthetic through a Yelp search for IPL. I had been researching for a while because I had done IPL only once before somewhere else (a Groupon at a SF doctor's office - you know the deal, it's been around forever). That deal was not worth it, trust me, because it yielded absolutely zero change in hyperpigmentation, plus gave me terrible breakouts for weeks because they didn't properly cleanse my skin afterwards. So because of that experience, I did more research this time and Yelp messaged the owner Eunice a bunch of questions, to which she always promptly responded. I also went in for a quick free consult and left feeling confident of Eunice's experience after she reviewed my skin, I spoke with her, and saw before/after pics of clients who had skin just like mine. At my appointment, I was led to the spa rooms in the back, which are surprisingly spacious. Eunice cleansed and prepped my skin. Then she told the RN what strength of IPL to use and all my requests regarding what areas I wanted to especially target and avoid. (Note: Don't forget to ask the RN to treat the nose area that is hidden under your googles.) After the RN finished the IPL, Eunice cleansed my skin again and gave a cooling facial, which really helps since the IPL makes your face feel hot. She sent me home with a set of K-beauty samples to hydrate my skin and accelerate healing. (Absolutely do not forget to bring a hat and mask because your skin will be very sensitive and red afterwards.) I am SO pleased with the whole experience from beginning to end - from the booking to the IPL and facial to the end results! Please read this to make a sound decision about coming to this place. I hope someone who is interested in spa packages/IPL can learn from my experience and that Eunice can take this as feedback to make her business better. 1. Always understand what package deal you are signing up for. When I first went to Zen Aesthetic through groupon for a facial, Eunice convinced me to buy a 6 spa package and 3 IPL treatments deal (6 spa packages = $700 3 IPL = $400). I paid for everything up front, but after a few sessions, I did not understand why there were additional charges I had to pay for. After my last appointment, I went back to my bank statements and realized I definitely overpaid for what I got. I called and was able to figure out the discrepancy and she was able to refund me. But this was a lesson learned that you need to document, double check, and understand what you are paying for. Because if I didn't catch this, then I don't think I would have been refunded. 2. Make sure you get the proper protection for treatments because IPL was an intense light procedure. I wanted to get rid of my dark spots which is why I signed up. However, I did not think I got the proper protection for my eyes. I got lasik eye surgery a few years ago, so my eyes are sensitive to light. During the procedure, I felt like I could have gone blind. Every time, my eyes were really red afterwards. For the last and final treatment, I asked for more light protection which they gave me eye sticker, plastic UV goggled, and a towel but I don't believe it was enough because I could still see the bright light through it all. I've done laser on my face before so I know that the proper way of protecting your eyes is through metal goggles, not plastic ones. In the end, I had to cry for her to stop and never again I want to try IPL. 3. If you are looking for basic facials/extractions and a spot to regularly go, it's not a bad choice. The staff is nice and it's in a nice location. The space is unique because it's in a store and I can tell that Eunice put in a lot of effort to make the space homey and spa-like. There's a lot of great korean facial products that you can purchase at the counter. I think she made the best out of the space. Overall, use my experience to make your own judgements. If you're looking for quality, this is the place. I started to develop real bad mask acne as soon as the pandemic hit, which was real weird for me because I never break out. My mom recommended Zen Aesthetics because of the quality of service and products, so I gave it a try. I couldn't have chosen a better place. Eunice really knows what she is doing. She guaranteed she could clear my acne, and also give me healthier/younger looking skin. She really cares about her work and her patients. She even gave me her cell phone number in case I ever had any questions or needed any advice. I have been to many spas in the past, but I appreciate the care and attention to detail that Zen Aesthetic provides. I originally came in for a consultation for IPL, but it turned into a same-day appointment. After evaluating my skin, Elaine recommended the hydra facial in addition to IPL. The hydra facial was around $150 while the IPL treatment came out to $300 (On the website the price is $150, but mine was $300 because they targetted my whole face). Even though I didn't purchase the Yelp deal prior to my appointment, I mentioned the deal, and they applied the discount bringing my total to $365. I highly recommend having your facial done by Jay. She always explains the products she's putting on and what it will target. The whole hydro facial included double cleansing, extractions, micro-currents, collagen treatment, shoulder massage, and a mask. It was extremely relaxing, and I felt comfortable knowing exactly what was put on my face. Elaine did my IPL treatment, and she explained the process and how it would feel as this was my first time receiving this treatment. While it did sting a little, Elaine made sure that it didn't hurt too much and would constantly check on how I was doing. At the end of my treatment, I received skincare samples to keep my skin hydrated. The samples are from high-quality Korean skincare brands, and I will be returning back to buy the full-size version. After 2 weeks, I'm extremely happy with my results. My freckles have faded, and my moles have been completely removed. If you all don't believe Eunice is a skin wizard yet, prepare to have your mind blown. This is me before my Thermage and sun spot/skin tag removal, and this is me after (pics attached here). Christine, the registered nurse who performed my Thermage treatment, is so thorough, informed on all of the latest equipment, and is truly an artist. She also pointed out to me that the previous place I went to for laser hair removal that didn't work at all (LaserAway) has outdated machines, which totally explains why my six painful sessions didn't last. Oh, btw- if you want a painless hair removal experience that actually works, come here!! I've done 2 sessions already for under arms and bikini area and it's been completely pain-free and very effective. The store itself, in my opinion, is more fun than Sephora! It's always stocked with innovative newness from Korea. I'm getting kind of tired of skincare brands by influencers and celebs. Just give me quality products created by professionals that work, right? If you agree, come here. The prices are comparable if not cheaper than what they are online too. I always leave Zen with something to try or share with my friends like soothing sheet masks which are fun, cheap little gifts, but let me show you my personal favorites (pics attached below): The red pomegranate collagen packets are super tasty imo and have become a part of my morning routine. I just pop it open and drink it straight. And the KAHI Bounce Balm is really amazing too. It's basically a portable giant chapstick for your whole face that's not greasy at all, feels light and moisturizing and has totally saved me lately with the cold weather change drying out my nose and lips. Anytime I feel like I could use a little moisture, I just swipe it on and I'm done. Yay for convenience! It smells really nice too. So that's everything! I wouldn't write this review if I didn't fully believe in this place. I tell Eunice she should have her own show because she's such a miracle worker and just an overall lovely human. As a guy, I only put on sunblock as often as I could and occasionally some moisturizers to protect my skin/face from sun damage while watching my age spots getting bigger and darker, and skin texture getting worse. Since my besties have been coming to Zen for years, I came in with hope as I knew Eunice and her team would "help me". They did point out everything that was wrong on my face but after several sessions of laser treatments and facials, with some "downtime" to endure, even my friends have jokingly said that "I must have sold my soul to the devil" as I look probably 10-15 years younger after 6 months with Zen! read more

I have been here twice over the years and most recently in May 2022. Eunice is extremely rude and insults her customers. There is an art that Eunice has to learn when talking to her customers so as to not offend them. Her words are very harsh and her treatments do not work. I spent close to $750 btw the IPL facial and some eye cream that didn't do anything. She also did not target the brown spots that I had wanted to get treated. Great service and they literally fixed my acne in one treatment. I also used tea tree oil between laser treatments and that kept it from coming back. I don't hand out 5-stars often but I would tell you, your mom, and your grandma to come here. The cost of my laser was $250 and well worth it. They will up sell you at the end but the products they sell are so good so buy those too! They do good extractions here as well. I shopped around for a laser treatment that would work with my skin. I went to laseraway, skip that place. They are way over priced. Same treatment at laser away costs $400!!!! No way Jose! This place is great as long as they keep their prices. If you are not Korean or young Asian, you will not get good service. I purchased a facial package over a year ago and have been following her treatment recommendations. The first facial was great and the technician was wonderful. During each subsequent visit, I would book my appointment with the same technician and when I showed up, I would get someone else less skilled. I asked about this again and again and during my total of four visits, there would be a new excuse why the technician I asked for wasn't providing the service. My skin is a bit better but nowhere near what Eunice claimed it would be when I purchased the package in the first place. For this reason and how I see other clients treated when I'm there, I'm forgoing the rest of package and finding a new place. read more

I have gone twice. First time I got a facial it was fine. Nothing special. Second time it was a pure nightmare that lasted a year. My face was inflamed for MONTHS, red splotches, scarring, it was beyond awful. The facialist was a different one than first time I went, and she did not know what she was doing. After 10 days the patches of redness did not going away, so I went back twice (first time I waited 1 hour but the manager was not there) and she finally refunded me but told me it was MY fault. I showed her my daily photos and how bad it was even in person. She gave me a free jar aloe vera for my face to heal after ruining my face. I went to a professional derm and it has taken over a year to get my skin back. It took months for the redness to go away but it would flare back up randomly and then the acne that came after was horrid. It caused a whole set of chain reactions. Good luck, have fun! read more

I have been a client here for just about a year now and have seen a dramatic difference in the level of redness and acne on my face. For six months I received laser treatment for resurfacing my skin, reducing sebum production, and scar removal. Very quickly I saw a reduction in sebum production, which allowed my make-up to sit much longer without looking cakey. I also immediately noticed smoothness and scar reduction. Yup, I pretty much came here with Darkness Eyelashes in mind. Thanks to debbie t's mention of this brand, I was able to bring home some Darkness goodies from this location. The store is not overly crowded; it's organized according to a girl's basic needs such as a section for haircare, cosmetics, skincare, tools, and EYELASHES! However, like what debbie t. had reviewed, the cosmetics (Korean brand) were covered with dust--a sign of poor store cleanliness and possible product expiration. The Darkness and Shisem (another popular Korean brand) eyelashes were protected with their individual, hard, dusty-on-the-outside, plastic cases. I didn't really care as long as the actual lashes were dust-free. But I did have to use hand sanitizer as soon as I was out of sight. I didn't feel like using a tissue to pick up the items in the store--that might have been rude. But again, I'm the customer, and I don't want to be touching dirty particles. The sale associate was really nice though. I couldn't find my tweezers, so I was ready to purchase one here due to convenience. The staff showed me the three different kinds they carried, and recommended the Darkness brand because she used it too. ehh.. a week later, I found my old tweezer, which I loved for a really long time, and stored the Darkness one somewhere else. Not that great compared to my favorite, previously missing tweezer. Unfortunately, they do not have Lioele. I heard Lioele's lip glosses were fruity/juicy and smelled good. The other Korean cosmetic brands' lip glosses were priced around $20 a pop--no thanks (and I don't want to dirty my hands further.) Knowing it was my first visit, the nice lady gave me a free VOV eyeshadow. I appreciated it...but it was probably expired. I couldn't expect much since it was free--the shadow was too sheer and throughout the day, there was lotsa fall-out. Bummer. And also, when I received it, it was already covered with dust. Go figure. I would cry if Sephora was like this. Would only come back for the eyelashes because they do have large selections of Darkness/Shisem/and others. Don't forget to bring hand sanitizer! I had such had high hopes for the IPL photofacial from here. I came out a lot poorer after 2 sessions but with no visible changes in sun spots. After the first session, I e-mailed Eunice to express my concern that there wasn't any results from the spots she treated. Eunice said it's common not to have significant results after the first treatment and I would see better results after the second session. I agreed and scheduled the second session. I was concerned at the start of the second session because Eunice kept saying after "looking" about my face, "Oh there's improvement there and there" even though that wasn't evident. She had a nurse do the second session and after a month of waiting, I see absolutely no change. I e-mailed Eunice after giving it time but haven't heard back from her in days. I bought a Groupon for a service. They only honored part of that deal, saying that it was only for 1 thing, not both, even though it clearly says on the Groupon that both are included. That might be Groupon's error....not sure. But where I have a HUGE issue with Zen is that they added in other things without communicated well that there would be an extra charge. I thought they were doing the service I bought. At the end, they told me I owe an extra $280. What a shock to be swindled like that. Never again! Over time as I've visited this place, it has gotten worse so my frequency of visits are much lower now. - the facials aren't consistent, extractions aren't done properly and in a rush and they expect a tip after that service so I've stopped doing facials. It's not worth it. - the IPL is still good but Eunice charges you not based on how much freckles you've on your face to remove, but when was the last time you came. If it's 6 months, it's $100, and if more than a year $200. That doesn't make sense to me because I've been taking care of my face and I don't need as much as I did before or go that often. I always felt nagged at when I decide not to do the entire face because there's only cheeks area I want to do so the experience has became worse over time. I got IPL here for my freckles and it works amazingly. Although all other treatments aren't working that well. The charging is what I m not very thrill of. They charged me for different items of what they were working on such as the red spots, winkles , discoloration or freckles. That makes me thinking they are at least working on couple different things since it's two or three separate charges. However when the machine going over my face, it's still the same machine same setting going over my face for once or twice , and I always wondering why they have to charge separately. Most time they skip the area they don't think it needs anything, so it's not even a whole face. It's expensive in that sense. If you are looking for freckles treatment, I would go there but otherwise, all other treatments are just adding on the bill. At the end it still the same machine going over your face. read more

These treatment got rid of my acne scars/pigmentations and gave me a smoother skin. I recommend the IPL/Sellas Evo combo. The IPL itself only got rid of pigmentations but wouldn't give you a better skin texture and rejuvenation. This is a short essay. Came here on the recommendation of a friend who had good results from IPL treatments. I was, however, rejected by Eunice (owner) for IPL, because I have melasma, but she saw an opportunity and sold me with very convincing "before and after" pics of women with my skin problems (blemishes, redness, large pores, and adult acne) package of 3 Sellas LED treatments, close to $200 each treatment. Sellas LED was sold to me as an effective laser for redness, acne, and large pores. The "before and after" pics she showed me to sell me were very convincing. And as any women know, some point in your life, you just want a fix. I was sold. First treatment: * I arrived on time, they were surprised to see me (suspicious - to say the least) * "Before" photos were taken after makeup was removed * Facial was rushed and sloppy, face skin still felt dirty * Numbing cream was applied without care, left on longer than necessary, so I was just lying there waiting for 15+ mins * Sellas LED treatment was rushed and missed spots that actually needed it * Was left alone with a face masque far longer than necessary, 20 mins or so All in all, the first session only last 75 mins, not the 90 mins as promised (more time spent lying there in the numbing cream or cooling masque than time they worked on my face) After complaining about the first treatment (delicately) as not effective with no real results and I let them know I will not purchase further treatments after I finish the ones I've already paid for if I do not see results after this second treatment. They went on recovery mode and put me in a private room (first treatment was in a common room, next to snoring grandmas). Second treatment: * photos were taken after makeup was removed * facial was done with much more care and effort, not rushed * numbing cream was applied more thoroughly * Sellas LED was more thoroughly treated in all areas, maybe a bit too much on certain areas and it was painful despite numbing cream * cooling masque was not left on longer than necessary, just enough time and with more care * this session still ended early, 80 mins, not 90 as promised. A week after the second treatment, with zero results shown and bigger pores than I came with, I knew I was not going to purchase anymore treatments. Went in for my last treatment, on time as usual. * photos were taken after makeup was removed (I'm back in the common room) * facial was rushed and sloppy (I think this is their usual/normal technique) * numbing cream applied and left on way WAY longer than necessary * Sellas LED treated face more thoroughly than the first time but less * thoroughly than the second time (they're on to me) * cooling face masque was left on longer than necessary * session ended sooner than their usual short time, 65 / 70 mins - most of time was me lying alone with numbing cream or cooling masque than treatment from an esthetician On my way out, I was shown "before and after" pics of my face. Now, after being duped, I realized that the "before" photos were shown through a dark filter so of course all the tiny spots or blemishes were magnified. The "after" pictures of my own face were shown to me in a lightening filter. I'm upset at myself for not seeing this when I was sold with other people's "before"s and "after"s. Like, it was so obvious! I was told "look - your moles from before are gone" in the "after" pics. Yes, they are indeed gone in the "after" pics but when I look at my face in real life in the mirror, the moles are still there and my blemishes are just as pronounced and bigger pores than before I had the treatments. Ladies and gents, do not waste your money on treatments from this place. Take your money and go to LA for fraxel treatments - better service, actual results, and there are a lot of competition so businesses are working hard for your repeat business. read more

I wanted to wait 6-8 months to write this review because I feel my results now would be more apparent than 1-3 months ago. Zen Aesthetics came highly recommended by family friends. What I initially scheduled as a "consult" turned out to be​ a same day appointment. My skin story: When I was in college, I developed cheek acne. I know it's skin taboo but I was an avid picker of a particular region of my cheek, thus developing a dark patch of uneven skin. I was super insecure about my face because the hyperpigmentation was very apparent IRL, especially in pictures. Post college, I used a lot of products and aloe aimed ​at evening out the epidermis and though substantially better, the discoloration was still quite noticeable. Fast forward to now (post IPL), the marking has faded to a point where I am neither embarrassed nor insecure when I walk out without makeup on. Heck, I don't even wear face makeup anymore. What I did: I had one IPL treatment to remove scars, sunspots, and broken veins. Much of these issues were a result of childhood carelessness so kids, use that sunscreen and don't go out embracing the winter cold like I did... My follow up treatment ​was a second IPL over ​the​ cheek, followed by a mask. During & post IPL: Beauty is pain. Though lidocaine gel is used for numbing​​, you can still feel it. Some of it feels like a burning drill sensation. Some of it feels like an electric zap (like when flies fly into the insect zapper or a stretched rubber band). Tears will be shed. ​You'll develop scabs over the IPL areas that'll fall off within a week's time. ​Overall, I am quite happy with the progress Zen Aesthetic has done on my skin. Eunice's prices are reasonable and fair. Though much of my broken veins have vanished and my main concern has lightened ​significantly, some of my sunspots were missed and some didn't even go away with the IPL. P.S. I didn't purchase the "deal" prior to my appointment but I mentioned it to Eunice and she still honored it on the spot. read more

The worst place to do Eyelashes. Not professional, not clean, poor customer service. Not recommended to anyone.

I originally went in for their freckle removing procedure. I walked into the store inquiring about this procedure wanting to use my yelp coupon. They "honored" the coupon; however, they also talked me into do a "whole package" program. They charged me $245 which included the freckle removal and a facial. I had a good result. The staffs were fairly nice. So I decided to go back a 2nd time. This time is a completely different story. The assistant who did my facial did a very quick and mediocre job on the facial. The main staff(I believe is one of the owner) person who worked on me purposely left some freckles in areas she could have remove pretty easily, just so that I will "have" to go back and shell out more money. Oh, by the way, she almost blinded me with one eye at one point. She did not protect my right eye properly before she shined that very strong light on me. I felt like someone shined a mega light directly into my right pupil. I rolled into a ball very scared wondering if this lightening sensation will ever go away. Finally after a long 2-3 minutes, it finally went away. At the end, she had the guts to ask me to schedule my next appointment when I was paying for this torture. When I refused to make the next appointment, her entire attitude changed. Can you imagine? NO, I definitely would never go back again. My advice for anyone else who wants to try out this store is: purchase a yelp deal and only use it for one session, but definitely do not go back afterwards. Because the quality of work and the whole "friendliness" facade will go down 100 times after the initial visit! read more
