The good - I've been a loyal customer for almost a year and half ONLY because their prices are very competitive. The recent nurse I saw, Callan, was very professional and nice given my frustrations. The bad - They're constantly changing the clinician you request without any communication. This was the third time this has happened. Despite the notes they have in your profile, they don't care. I was booked with Evelin and suddenly changed to Callan (who was great BTW) but there was zero communication about this when I checked in or even prior to me coming in. I even asked the front desk how long it would take because it was already running 30 mins past my appt slot and still no notice of a different clinician. When I voiced my concerns with the front desk, I received immediate attitude from both of them especially the shorter (maybe Indian or Middle Eastern) front desk girl. She had the nerve to argue with me saying I never had an appt with Evelin when indeed I did. It wasn't for Botox but for fillers a while ago. Regardless, if I'm comfortable with a certain nurse, you don't need to question or argue with me on what services I had done. There was no apology. Just straight up defensive attitude. It's no wonder there's such a high turnover of nurses at Laseraway. They seem to cater to those who have Laser appts or of a certain Marina look (mainly white ladies). This company shouldn't even have a license to provide cosmetic treatments as the nurses don't know what they are doing. Had to cancel my packages but then was charged inflated prices much higher than even original before combo discount. Staff and management are unprofessional. The person from corporate management is rude, talks over you and hangs up the phone when he realizes he doesn't have a point. Avoid LaserAway -- seriously. I was pressured into buying a laser hair removal package by Sofia, my so-called "Patient Care Coordinator" (aka sales rep). She pushed hard to close the deal, and when I later tried to cancel -- before using any services -- she spoke to me like I was a child. She literally told me I was "immature" and said she was "embarrassed for me." They claim the contract is "medical" so it's non-refundable. It's a total trap. I've filed complaints with the BBB and CA Attorney General. If this happened to you, do the same. LaserAway cares more about locking you in than helping you out. read more

I have not had a great experience with the treatments at this location. The employees are very kind and lovely, but I don't recommend spending your money on MedSpa treatments here. More specifically I paid nearly $800 for a rejuran topical treatment following clear & brilliant (which is pathetic to even type!) and I was very uninspired by the results. I also learned from another technician that Rejuran should be cheaper if it's applied topically compared to being injected because the cost of administering an injectable treatment is significantly higher, including the medical professional's expertise and the need for sterile procedures. A topical Rejuran product would typically be more readily available and less expensive due to its simpler application method. Just want everyone to be aware so you don't make the same mistake I did! read more

I've had very mixed results at LA. I've only had one technician who seemed to really know her stuff, and the other nurse I often get is inexperienced and my results are uneven, with part of my brow still wrinkling in the middle, and the other side better. Last time the nurse did not use any alcohol to wipe my spots before injecting. That was concerning. I'm often waiting for my appt for 15-30 mins, and for long periods in the middle of my appt- I have a pretty crazy life (two jobs; elected position; two kids) and when I get attitude for asking how much longer it's going to be, I think it's incredibly disappointing. I have suspected the long delay is because the nurse is consulting with someone (since it's sometimes when I ask a question). I also often get a very heavy sell on their products. I bought a huge package so I'll go until it's done but I am very much looking forward to moving on. Reading the other reviews on here, I see that I am actually pretty lucky with my experience so far. Surprise! My lips are now FILLED. I've been wanting this for myself for forever and I just now had the means to do so since I came across LaserAway. I called and made an appointment on the phone and provided payment to secure my appointment. I purchased 1ml of Juv and only used .7ml. You then get a follow up appointment 2 weeks after to see if you want to use the rest of the syringe, which I think is such a great option!! The day of, yes I was incredibly nervous. I mean, messing with my face without no moral support CAN be scary. Geanna was THE most comforting. She checked me in, talked me through the procedure during the numbing part. She assured me that I was in the hands of the best of the best and that I would walk away LOVING it. She was absolutely correct! Claire was my nurse and she asked me what my desired look was. Laser services seem pretty standard. The front desk gals are sweet. Here's my issue. My friend and I came in for services, I went first. She was next. There was no sheets changed in between our services which was concerning. Also when it was her turn they needed her to shave her pubic hair before the laser treatment. Wow!! So I have been a patient with LaserAway since 2010 in Los Angeles. I have always had an amazing experience but today I left the marina location feeling like I have to write this review. Not only was I feeling very welcome from the moment I walked in, but the nurse that whom treated me, Aria!! She took her time and was so meticulous and was super knowledgeable and experienced. Made me feel so good; also did an excellent job. I will be referring all my patients over to Aria. LaserWay is a sales-oriented company that disregards professionalism and fundamental ethical principles. LaserWay referred me to Ally to finance a thermage and clear & brilliant treatments. I had one thermage treatment and one clear & brilliant treatment, resulting in an invoice of $4,726.72. I contacted Ally, and they could not specify what treatments we were charging me. I called LaserAway, and they informed me that they would contact Ally for a reimbursement. Instead of one clear and brilliant treatment, they charged me for six treatments. I contacted them via email and explained this to Mr. Brian Dickerson. He assured me that I didn't have to worry about the problem and that they would fix the charges with Ally. Today, I received a text message from Ally saying that I was late on the financing of $4,726.72. I contacted LaserWay again, and, at this time, I spoke with Chrystal, who guaranteed me that she was aware of the problem and would call me back in one hour. She never did. I called them again four hours later, and the person who answered the phone told me that Crystal had left and no one could help me. The sad part of this story is that I recently lost my 24-year-old son, and my grief therapist encouraged me to do some self-care work. I trusted LaserWay. Instead, I am stuck with a bill of services that I didn't receive. TL; DR: I spent $3500 on Laser Hair Removal, and I'm still shaving weekly I had my first phone consult with Laser Away at the end of 2020 and signed up for their laser hair removal package -- 8 treatments (6 weeks apart) for a total of $3500. This included under-arms, bikini, and legs. Initially, I also purchased upper lip hair removal, but my hair was too light there and they let me know that laser wouldn't be effective. I wasn't able to get that refunded so I transferred that to Botox. If you're considering this treatment, make sure you do a consult in person before paying for a non-refundable service. I finished my 8 treatments in December 2021, and just over one month later I was back to shaving weekly. Not patchy, fully grown in. If you're thinking about laser hair removal with Laser Away, save your money and learn from my experience:  Laser Away doesn't give you all of the information upfront. Here's what I learned only after I signed the contract: -- They consider 70% hair reduction a success. I only found this out when, after 4 sessions, I had some concerns that my hair was still coming back fairly quickly. Had I known that 70% was their baseline, I wouldn't have purchased this service. It's marketed as laser hair removal -- not reduction -- right? -- Changes in your hormones can cause the hair to grow back. So if you ever plan on going on or off of birth control, or having a baby, or if you're close to menopause, it is likely that your hair will grow back. -- Most people respond best to 11 laser treatments vs. the 8 they sell you in the package. More on that below. It's so important to have all of this information upfront and if I had, I wouldn't have spent almost $4K on something that *might* work. Laser Away runs misleading advertising. Their ads say that results are permanent (screenshots below), and let's not forget the "Babe, ditch the razor" posters in the office that you'll see on your way to your treatment room. I've worked in advertising for 15 years -- all that this messaging is designed to do is to *not* make you question spending thousands of dollars for a non-refundable service. Laser Away has poor customer service. On Feb 25th this year, I walked into Laser Away on Union St. in San Francisco to speak with a manager to talk through different options on what could be done based on my poor results. They assured me that they want to make sure their patients are happy with results and said a customer service rep would be in touch. The next day, I was contacted by Brian Dickerson. He heard me out, offered to have me come in for an assessment, reiterated the terms of the contract, and mentioned that while the 8 treatments can work well for some, *most* people respond best to 11 treatments. Again, I wish that I had this information upfront. (Use this as a negotiating tactic with your Laser Away sales rep if you're still working through a package and have them include 11 for what you would normally pay for 8. That is, if you're still even considering LHR at this point.) I also brought up my concerns around Laser Away's advertising and Brian said he didn't feel it was false advertising because you ultimately sign the contract saying results are not guaranteed.  Brian tried to upsell me the 3 additional treatments, though I was clear that I just spent $400+ per session with poor results and wouldn't be spending any more money with Laser Away. He said that he would have the SF location reach out to me to schedule the assessment but I have not heard from anyone to this day. This has been an incredibly upsetting situation and I wish that I had this information before I spent thousands with Laser Away. Truly horrendous experience - so bad I made a yelp account and this is my first review. First off, I did a consult for a different service - they pushed me towards a more expensive service that I didn't even need. I decided to trust them and went with their suggestion of microneedling. Unlike other places which had a professional put the numbing cream on you carefully, check in on you, and give you enough time to make sure you're numb - this experience was the opposite. The woman behind the front desk slathered on the cream carelessly (leaving only half my face numb), didn't check on me, and left me in some chair for less than the recommended time. It seems that every time I have an appointment scheduled, it gets canceled right before because they don't have a nurse available to perform IPL. For example, I was scheduled for an appointment at 4PM today. I got a phone call at 3PM (1 hour before the appointment) saying that there was a scheduling error and they have to cancel the appointment. I understand that mistakes happen occasionally, but this is the 4th or 5th time that this has happened. The last time that this happened, I called my sales rep and she reassured me that it would never happen again. I will be calling her today to ask for a refund for my remaining sessions. Not a happy customer: 1) Laser hair removal did not work with my daughter's facial hair after several sessions over two years. She is supposed to be the ideal candidate with light skin and dark hair. I am very disappointed not to see results after paying all that money. 2) I wish someone warned me about the third party creditor LaserAway works with, Universal Account Servicing, who has predatory practices. They send you bills with amounts purposefully lower than what you should pay, and then jump on the opportunity to charge 24% interest. You will have to set up your autopay higher than the amount that they give you on the phone to avoid ridiculous interest. And, once you underpay, even by $1, they have the right to charge interest over the full amount. I set up my autopay higher than what showed as "minimum payment" on their bill, and thought I was all good; but still ended up paying more than $800 in interest, when my bank failed with auto pay one time, and it was two days late. 3) And yes, getting an appointment for a date/time that works for you can be challenging. read more

Eventually, they canceled on me while at the doorstep without an apology. The thermage I got doesn't show any effects yet, and the xeomin botox they included in the package hasn't worked even after two weeks. It's more frustrating that they flood u with their persistent marketing calls and emails, then dismiss problems when u share em by saying it's not their department. I had a fairly good experience with LaserAway. I purchased a 8 session pack for lower legs, bikini, and armpits -- I just finished my last session and there has definitely been a decrease in hair growth and thickness. All of the aestheticians have been fast, friendly, and professional. Scheduling is always a bit packed at the Union location, so a last minute switch can result in a week + out in service. But they have many other locations that can accommodate. My main issue was that LW policy requires patients to come in every 4-6 weeks regardless of hair growth speed. After my 5th session, I noticed that my hair does not grow nearly that fast and was basically wasting every other session. (I barely had any hair to shave pre-session and laser treatment felt wasted). I understand its difficult to customize the service to every individual and the majority of clients fall into the 4-6 week growth period. However for $3300 on the service, I would have expected a more customized treatment plan including evaluating & making sure each session was actually effective. read more
