Dibek Traditional Home Cook Restaurant - The first round of food is always Mezza here (small plates of traditional dips & pickles). The creamed dish low-right, is Turkish Ravioli.

Centrally located in Goreme around a lot of popular hotels. Warm, rustic, homey interior. Seating area consists of large tables and you sit on the floor over cushions. Shoes off before stepping into the seating area. Menu si known for homestyle cooking and an iconic dish is their pottery kebab. Meat is slow cooked in a sealed pot for 3 hours. The pot is then brought to the table, cracked open, and the contents poured onto a plate in front of you. Very aromatic, flavorful, and tender. They also make their own wine in house, which is a must try. Red wines are served cooler, though not cold. I also recommend the little little on the middle menu item as it consists of a lot of small shareables, similar to mezze, that you can enjoy along with your meal. Staff is very friendly. They even gave us a tour of the wine cellar which was really neat.

The ground floor was originally used as stables and storage area. The upper levels were the living quarters. Its one year long restoration and redecoration were completed in 2004. Meals are served on round tables on the floor. You can enjoy dishes sitting on cushions around the round table. The most popular dishes are homemade mantı (Turkish ravioli), kurufasulye (dried white beans) and testi kebabı (pottery kebab). Traditional desserts aside and kayısı tatlısı are worth to taste. Dibek Restaurant also serves homemade wine. And it was good.

Really wanted a memorable Dinner and found it with the Beef Cheek served with Mashed Potatoes in a Reduction and "The Golden Pot" which is a Porcini Mushroom Risotto in I believe a Parmesan Sauce that did not drown the dish. The Beef Cheek, so tender, broke apart with just your fork. Slow Cooked for 21 hours according to the Owner. The Reduction had a nice hint of Pepper to add something extra. I also found out this Dish has been nominated for a Michelin Star. The Bulgar Wheat Risotto "The Golden Pot" had a nice mild Earthly flavor from the Porcini Mushrooms with that light Cream Sauce was how a this dish should be at every Restaurant. However, no one seems to get it right before dining here. Firm texture, not gummy, definitely not bland and overall just a very satisfying meal. I am not a Food Critic or a Chef nor do I pretend to have Grand Illusions of having ultimate Food Knowledge, but I spent 20 years as a Line Cook and grew up in a Kitchen learning from the best Cook I know, my Grandma, so I know good food and have always had a passion for it.

Excellent service and our meal was delish…read more We tried several spots after a late evening arrival in Cappadocia and found this easily right on the Main Street at the bottom of the hill from our hotel. Staff were welcoming and friendly and this was honestly one of the best meals we had in Turkey (but this could be bc we were so tired and hungry we weren't hard to please, lol). We sat outside by the bubble fountain, we had hummus and a chopped salad and a lamb testi kabab cooked in a clay pot and opened in front of you. It was soft and delicious. My only issue was with the Konafe which wasn't as good as previous versions I've had - so I wouldn't recommend the dessert, instead - go to a nearby Turkish ice cream seller... probs better!

I expected being accosted much more from outside the restaurants but not here. The guys outside the restaurant are nice and friendly, no offense if you don't stop to eat. We walked by with our kids and Latif spoke to us and showed us his menu, specific items since we are vegetarian. We appreciated the time he took to do that. He spoke a few words to my husband in Hindi and we were surprised! After two days of trying other restaurants we came back here and had a great experience, the kids got pizza and i the stuffed eggplant and hummus. Everything was tasting good and a reasonable price. The hookah is amazing and wayyyy better than the junky Shisha at Pasha cafe. The pizza needed to be cooked more, the bottom was soft and not toasted. The prices are kind of high for what you are getting but in line with all other restaurants here. The conversation and hospitality that Latif showed us was top notch. Thank you!

Outside…read moreof the crowds in Göreme sits the small village of Cavusin, and while things here still seem catered to tourists, there's definitely a more local flavor to the shops and restaurants. In the middle of touring Cappadocia, my tour group stopped here for lunch and ordered from a set menu. We started our meal with warm, spiced lentil soup, salad with lettuce and carrots, a yogurt dip, a grated tomato dip, and pickled vegetables. Everything tasted so fresh, and you could see everything being made behind the counter in the kitchen! For the main course, I tried the vegetable casserole, a simple mixture of eggplant, tomato, potato, onion, and other vegetables served in a small clay dish with rice on the side. It wasn't anything that special, but definitely tasty! I also had the manti, or Turkish ravioli, which was a dish made of dozens (if not hundreds) of tiny, hand-folded dumplings with just a microscopic amount of meat! These manti were a lot smaller than ones I've had elsewhere, and our guide explained that the smaller size really showcased the mastery of the cook! The dumplings were dressed with yogurt and a slightly spicy sauce, making for a well-balanced, flavorful dish. Finally, we ended with dessert--the tel kadayif was a pastry made of phyllo noodles and syrup--quite sweet for my tastes, but definitely representative of Turkish desserts.

Amazing food! I think I spent $4 on lamb chops. We had it delivered to the hotel a few times. It's…read morealso nice to sit there with beautiful views!

In keeping with the theme of Cappadocia region, it looks like an old cave palace and is probably also used for weddings and conferences. The show itself was so-so. There was a lot of dancing and various costumes, but besides one of the belly dancers, it seemed like the dancing was amateurish and they were just going through the motions or making it up as they went along. The food was decent though. They give you a lot of little side dishes of vegetables and sauces. And then you get a choice of which entree you prefer. There is also a choice of alcohol included too. Because it is a show package, your choices are limited but the amount and quality of the food was fair.

Then you see the entrance carved right into the rock! It's enormous and amazing inside. The architecture is absolutely fantastic. The tables are long with benches fit for a queen, or me. There are several nooks and right smack in the middle of the grandest niche was a single chair with a gentleman playing traditional music. It was gentle and beautiful, with was a pleasant end to a very long day outdoors in the heat. The food, like most dinners and a show, you're paying more for the experience than the food. There was nothing to snuff your nose up at, it was all edible, traditional, and satisfactory. You get several courses, you will leave well fed. It something I will never forget. I'm delighted with my experience.
