However, after my early morning drive to view this beauty of a bridge I find myself wanting to share the experience right now! Bergstresser covered bridge is located in a lovely residential area along a bike path/walking trail. The bridge is strong, well preserved and could easily handle car traffic if it were allowed. The wooden floors are in great condition which was probably aided by the asphalt that once covered the floor surface. Remnants of the asphalt are still visible. The truss system is unlike any I've seen before using triple lattice crossbeams as support. The setting in which this bridge has been placed is attractive. Currently Ohio is experiencing record rains, but the results are lush green landscapes. Despite the heavy rains we experienced yesterday, the river flowing below the bridge was very calm and serene. I followed the trail to a beautifully landscaped park area with a willow tree, benches and a memorial stone. Throughout the area are loads of Blue Spruce trees! I forgot how much I love Spruce trees and this trip has inspired me to use them more in my landscapes designs. BRIDGE FACTS Year Built: 1887 Builder: Columbus Bridge Company Length: 134 feet Restored: 1991 Truss type: Partridge Location: Little Walnut Creek in Franklin County @ Kramer's Ford The Historical Marker reads as follows: In March, 1887, the Franklin County Commissioners announced the building of a bridge in Madison Township over Little Walnut Creek at Kramer's Ford. Area citizens had petitioned for a bridge to transport agricultural products to the canal and railroad. Michael Corbett of Groveport contracted to construct the abutments and the Columbus Bridge Company built the covered bridge for $2,690.00. Reuban L. Partridge, company vice president, supervised the building, using his patented truss system consisting of double and triple truss members constructed of pine and oak. In the 1930's the road traveling over the bridge became State Route 674 and in the 1950s the road was redirected to bypass the covered bridge. In 1990, the county contracted with Abba Lichtenstein & Associates to evaluate the condition of the bridge. The W.J. Seidensticker Company repaired and restored the Bergstresser bridge using original and new materials. This, the last covered bridge in Franklin County, was rededicated September 1, 1991. At this time the ownership of the bridge was transferred to the Village of Canal Winchester. FINAL THOUGHTS This bridge was named after Daniel Bergstresser and Samuel Dietz who helped in the successful petitioning of the county commissioners board in the late 1800's for a formal roadway/river crossing for use by local farmers & businesses. Once an important part of the local economy it now stands as a reminder of days long passed and as the last remaining bridge in Franklin County, Ohio. As a personal note to the residents of the area surrounding the bridge: I'd like to commend you on how well maintained your homes appear. I am a landscape/hardscape designer and I felt inspired by some of the landscapes I saw on nearby homes. I truly felt the pride of ownership and I just wanted to say keep up the great work.

It's been over three years since I've been to Rule 3, and I haven't visited very often since the…read morepandemic. But one thing I can say is that it's always worth the visit. The more things change, the more they stay the same. It appears that some of the wall paneling has changed, but everything else felt just like old times. They used to have a large monitor on the wall to your left when you first walked in. I think it was about 200 inches, but then again, I'm exaggerating. All I know is that I wish I had it in my house! They even had game controllers set up for the ultimate gaming experience. That area has since been converted into an office, but the arcade remains, so the kids can still have an awesome time. They also still have the kiddie bowling, which today, and for the next few days, is free for children. The adult bowling lanes remain, as do the restaurant, bar, and outdoor volleyball area. The food is still just as good as I remember, and the service remains top-notch. We had a very pleasant server who took great care of me, my two sons, and my two grandchildren. As you can see from the photo I submitted, we ate like five adults! We had pepperoni and supreme pizzas, a Chicago dog, wings, tater tots, and sliders for the kids. Now, if you know me, you know I'm from the Chicago area, so if you put a Chicago dog on your menu, I'm going to test you to see if you're doing things right. They did indeed do things right with this one! The pizza was just as good as I remembered, as were the wings. The tater tots were delicious--nice and crunchy and served piping hot--and the kids absolutely devoured their sliders. All in all, it was an awesome experience and a reminder that I need to make the trip to Rule 3 more often. If you've never been here, you definitely want to check this place out, especially on game night. It's usually a packed house!

Subject: Urgent Complaint Regarding AMA's Service Failure…read more Dear AMA Customer Service, I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I received on June 15. As a member of AMA for over 12 years, I had hoped for reliable assistance during an emergency, but my recent experience has left me thoroughly disappointed. On June 15, I called for a tow at 12:40 PM and was given an estimated time of arrival (ETA) of 120 minutes. However, after waiting for 2 hours, no provider showed up. AMA then assigned a new provider with another 2-hour ETA. Despite receiving several messages updating the ETA (60 minutes, 50 minutes, 30 minutes, arriving soon), no one ever arrived. When I called multiple times for updates, I was directed to contact the provider directly. Upon reaching them, I discovered that the provider AMA had booked did not have a flatbed truck, did not transport motorcycles, and was outside their service area. It is baffling why the American MOTORCYCLE Association would engage a provider incapable of transporting motorcycles. By 3:00 PM, AMA assured me that another provider was on their way. This provider also failed to show up. At 5:00 PM, I spoke with yet another provider who guaranteed their arrival, but they never came either. I continued to wait until 7:00 PM and then 8:00 PM with no resolution in sight. Eventually, I had to rely on a passerby with a trailer who I paid to transport my motorcycle to a friend's house. To AMA's credit, I received a call at 10:00 PM--9 hours after my initial request--to check on me. I politely asked them not to call me again, yet I received two additional calls at 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM, which was highly frustrating. Given this experience, I have decided to cancel my membership on Monday. There is no value in maintaining a membership for emergency roadside assistance if the service cannot be relied upon in emergencies. Throughout this ordeal, I had hoped AMA would come to my rescue, but I was severely let down. Several times I received texts indicating that providers were on their way, yet I never received any calls or updates from them. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and make necessary improvements to your service to prevent such incidents from happening to other members in the future. I also warn anyone reading this to reconsider their membership.

After entering a contest, I was bestowed two tickets to the Monster Energy Supercross by the Yelp…read moregods. The event was held at Sam Boyd Stadium on May 2, Saturday. I don't follow supercross, but I had zero plans on Saturday night and was happy to do something out of the ordinary. I thought my seats were great - I was seated in portal 17, row 33, seats 1 & 2. I had a good view of the race AND I was in the shade. The event started at 6:30PM with a bang, literally. Short bursts of fire and a stream of fireworks were launched into the air. Monster Energy definitely wasn't one too shy away from theatrics. It took about 30 minutes for the event to get started after all the racers took their introductory laps, much to the thrill of the audience members. Speaking of the crowds, I've never seen so many 'bros' in my life! The Monster Energy Supercross event attracted crowds that dressed so similarly, it was almost as if a uniform had been mandated for all attendees. The races were fun to watch, but it's hard to keep up since there's so much going on. I think there were around 15 riders participating at once. Each race consisted of 6 laps around a sandy course filled with hills of varying size and sharp turns. The air was heavy with the small of exhaust and the fans were so enthused, practically everyone was on their feet. I had fun at the Monster Energy Supercross, although it's an event I wouldn't normally attend. Tickets start at $50+. If supercross is your thing, I'm sure you'd have a blast. So we went to BrewDog for lunch and then headed over to the park and took a walk in the Tall Pines area, and it did not disappoint! I only wish the Tall Pines were even more plentiful. (They are a good little chunk of the trail in the middle but not the entire trail is full of them but don't let that stop you!) They are beautiful and such a marvel. I could have just laid down and stared at them. The trail was flat and easy and was the perfect length for a nice afternoon walk. I'll definitely be back to stare at those tall trees some more :)

I like to hike on snowy days when the sun's out and over the weekend I took advantage of the prime weather conditions and made my way out there. There's a sign out front letting you know to turn and there's a relatively small parking lot to leave your car. The start of the trails were easy to find thanks to the signage and after getting my bearings I headed out. The trail turns and weaves for a couple miles making a few loops. It was pretty simple to navigate which was awesome. And while the parking lot was full, I didn't run into too many people. I love that! I enjoyed every minute of my time out there. If you're like me and in need of a little time to disconnect from the world, come here. Of course, the entire place was extremely photogenic, the tall pines area being the most instagram worthy. I could have laid down right in the middle of it and just enjoyed the sound of the birds, the wind, and the feeling of the warm sunshine on my face. The only thing is the only area I found to sit down was on the other side of the park. It would have been nice to see a few more benches scattered about. Come here. Soak up nature. The peace and quiet. Unwind and settle your brain. You're welcome.
