Our Australian Terrier has had her dual coat "stripped" for 3 years in a row. Our dog has been happy, we have been pleased. This is the only groomer I could find who is knowledgeable about stripping a dog's coat. Recently our newly adopted Welsh Terrier has been groomed twice since last fall. (She needs a trim every two months.) Both visits went well. Our Welshie has been happy, and her grooming was well done. 4 stars as no one is perfect! read more

I liked this place. Good vibe. Felt like a group of friends working together. This was my dog's first experience at a pet groomer and he left happy as a clam, rather than traumatized, which I was afraid of. We just did the dog bath, they took care of his ears and nails along with that, and they pointed out a health concern which I was aware of, but I was happy that they clearly did their job well enough to notice! I plan to be a return customer. I thought maybe they had closed. I drove by the other day and didn't see the same purple building that I saw the last few years I've lived here. They painted the exterior, which is now black. I wonder if it's under new management? I read some bad reviews before I went, but I struggle to imagine the group of people I met today being anything less than stellar. read more

Alex does a great job every time with my big Bernedoodle. He loves going to the groomer, even though he is not a fan of the nail trim. They also pluck the hair from his ear canals so I don't have to do it! I especially appreciate that they don't keep him there for hours waiting around, but get him bathed, groomed, and out. This is by far the worst place you could ever take your dog.. We are new to the area and this was one of the first places I seen, but I will never go back. They cut my yorkie maltese ear and clipped all her nails to point where they were all bleeding because they were too short. I've been calling everyday for the past week to get some answers on why they did this and why they didn't have the respect to tell me. All they can say is her nails were bleeding "because it's part of the process". Don't take your fur babies here!!! I give this place negative 5 stars! ps. I took me fur son Regal in today because he's been shedding like crazy. I called yesterday and just the promptness of the scheduling they gave me a desirable time. Since I have gotten him he has had rougher fur not super bad but like not soft. Ohh my Lord! When I got him back it's like petting a stuffed animal and the best part he is not shedding like at all. For the style of work these wonderful people do it is very affordable! I am so so so happy with the results and Regal himself seems genuinely content! My family has been taking pets to Zelda's Pet Grooming for many years now, but in the last couple years standards and cleanliness have significantly dropped. Their employees do not even look nicely groomed which should be a clue to anyone expecting excellent service. The cleanliness in particular is terrible now, daughter's dog got an infection on his sensitive parts and had to pay $120 at the vet for exam/antibiotics. I will not go back to Zelda's ever again. read more

Where do I start? I've lived in 3 different states with my maltipoo, Frankie and Zelda's is my favorite I've ever been to in his 10 years getting groomed! They are all so gentle, and really make me feel like I can trust them with my baby. I have never gotten him back completely shaved or with a bad haircut, and never noticed any injury, etc. I just can't get over how patient and sweet all Zelda's employees are, especially with my super anxious and attached lap dog. When I graduate I will be truly heartbroken to have to find another groomer, as I know keeping a timely schedule along with a great temperament is a rare combo to come by in dog grooming. It gets better, everyone- today I called hoping to get Frankie in before Thanksgiving break because he's been healing after a surgery for a couple weeks and is a bit of a mess now. I have taken both my AKC Saint Bernards, a full grown adult and a 6 month old puppy, to Zeldas for grooming. My adult, Shakespeare, walked out of there looking like a million dollars, absolutely show-ring ready. The only complaint I could possibly have is that we were quoted 65 or 70 dollars to get Shakes groomed, and it was a hundred when we picked him up. This is not even a real complaint, however, as the job they did was worth every penny. They even gave us a discount on puppy Tiberius because they felt bad about the overage! These groomers are completely professional and do a really, really excellent job. I will definitely be taking my furry gentlemen back here! read more

I love Zelda's! The owners and staff do a fantastic job and are so kind, caring, and have been so attentive to the special needs of my dog--and my son's dog, too! I just adopted a puppy and am looking forward to taking her in for her first visit. Before her, I had an older, sweet, handicapped dog (the last few years of her life, she used a cart). Zelda's took great care with her for several years and treated her so very well! My son's dog has an issue with certain types of flooring, and knowing this, Zelda's staff always put towels down for her to walk on so she feels more comfortable. Whenever I am there, I see such positive interaction between the people and pets. It's easy to see that the Zelda's crew truly love animals and what they do. read more

If you have a standard poodle do not go here. My poodle gets a very simple cut and it was not executed well here and it cost more than I've ever paid for a grooming on her in 8 years. I had to go home and fix it with my limited grooming equipment and it looks drastically better and I'm not even very good or experienced. If you can take the time though go to Debbie's Dog Grooming in Spokane. They charge less and do an amazing job with poodles! If you have to go in Pullman, pick Amber's over Zeldas any day of the week! read more

Granted, he might've been scared being in a new place surrounded by other animals but the employee's of Zelda's were incredible with him. This was the first time I have had my dog groomed because I prefer to do it myself. However, her hair was getting to be too long and messy for me to keep up with. I have a black russian terrier and If you have ever seen one then you know what I'm talking about. LOTS OF HAIR. Plus, my girl is my heart and soul, so Im hesitant to trust just anybody with her. Once I started speaking with them, they knew exactly how to cut her (which, black russians are somewhat rare dogs to find) and provided me with multiple options depending on how much time I wanted to spend at home grooming myself. They did absolutely fantastic with her cut and getting rid of all the mats. My girl looks and feels a million times better. They were also very kind and professional to me and my dog, which is important to me. I HIGHLY recommend Zelda's to any pet owner looking for a good groomer. read more

What a wonderful place, with the most caring employees I have ever seen. They did a great job with our little dog--just the treatment my daughter loved--baths, trims to her exact specifications, with adorable bandannas or bow ties thrown in for extra cuteness. I was not raised with dogs, but I was told by dog lovers that the trims were first-rate. Then when our little dog was killed by a driver on Grand who did not even bother to stop his truck, their compassion compensated for his complete lack thereof. They sent flowers, along with a teddy bear for my daughter to cuddle in the absence of her dearly loved pet. We are lucky to have Zelda's. read more

Please be careful about leaving your fur baby. I took my baby in yesterday to be groomed. He was fine with no issues. I have been taking him to Zeldas now for a couple years. When I picked him up, The groomer mentioned he was having issues with his right eye. I looked and he was having a hard time keeping it open. So thinking maybe a hair or something in his eye. Oh no! I got home and took him out of his crate. He was not acting his normal self and was having trouble opening both eyes. I immediately took him to the vet. He examined my baby and found he had contusions in both eyes. 183.00 later he is on pain meds and an antibiotic. I called to talk to The groomer and she had already left for the day. I talked to another person and relayed what we found at the vet and told her to have The groomer give me a call. You would think maybe a courtesy call to check on him. Nope! I'm convinced something happened there but they are not talking. I gave them a 1 rating because there's not a zero. read more

I tried to take my dog in for self-service bathing today --called ahead just to make sure they were open even though it says on their sign outside that they're open from 10-4 on Saturdays. Got a phone message that confirmed that they're open from 10-4 on Saturday. Phone message also said that if no one answered during normal business hours, it just meant that they were busy. Loaded my elderly dog up in the car and went down there only to find the door locked and the lights out. How irresponsible is it to not change the signage and voice mail if you're going to be closed? Wasted my time and stressed out my dog. Won't be back and won't recommend to others. That's just bad business. read more

Dog came back traumatized. My mom previously took her two dogs to Zelda's, but stopped going because the place was a mad house. They overbook and have so many dogs that it is chaos. I really needed to get my corgi in for a nail trim and so I decided to bring him in. I thought how bad could it be. The staff was rude and the place was indeed overbooked. That will be the last time we go there. The company obviously regards profits more important than quality and a positive experience for the pet. read more

Great place. We have three dogs --- and they can get you in on short notice (like when the Labrador rolled in fish guts and smelled so bad he couldn't come into the house). Dogs seem to love it --- and they come back so soft and clean with all the details (paws, nails, etc.) well attended to. Very reasonable rates. A totally great place! read more

My cat gets a yearly clipping to remove the discomfort of wearing a long fur coat during the warmer months. I do not have to sedate her. The ladies there do a wonderful job and take great care of her. I highly recommend them! read more
