Before coming, I read that the Gingerbread House competition had just ended and that the displays were still up. When we arrived, I didn't realize parking was now paid $30 which was surprising since the first time we visited it was free. Walking up to the hotel is impressive on its own. Seeing how this massive structure was built out of stone so long ago is amazing. Inside, there was a video playing that explained how the hotel was constructed, which was very informative. The roof being made of solid concrete to help make the building waterproof was especially interesting. When you walk through the front doors, the entry is grand and open, with huge fireplaces on both sides. The gingerbread house displays were spread across two floors and were absolutely incredible. It's amazing to see the talent, from young adults to experienced artists. Some of the displays look incredibly realistic. I added photos, and hopefully the video of the grand prize winner shows as well, it's truly impressive. We walked around the rest of the hotel for a while and then stopped for lunch (see my restaurant review). The food was excellent. We hope to return one day and stay here. I'd also love to come back and play a round of golf here.

While restaurant may not be three Michelin stars, the server staff and management certainly are. Did I say the view is spectacular?! I've traveled the world, one of my top ten views! The overall property, golf course are exceptional. We woke up to a Rafter of wild turkeys in the tee box out our windows!! Our suite was very warm and welcoming. The only issue the needs immediate attention is the pillows. four of us all said the same at breakfast. The last morning, my Wife woke up to a Brown Recluse spider (arguably Deadly). That wasn't the worst of it, the management reaction was apathetical at best. They said their Pest control expert deemed it a wolf spider, still a nasty bite but won't kill you! Every one I showed the pictures from their wall said absolutely a Brown Recluse. After leaving messages with his underlines, with out response, I finally called Cezar, the GM, personally, he had the same attitude, ho hum. Long and short of it, before you book your event at this location, consider if apathy is what you want of a managerial support staff. The attached pics are of the spider in our room, and a wolf for comparison. Google Brown Recluse, and wolf spider images. I have traveled the world in five star hotels, never imagined this management Teams response, or lack of it! Too may Great choices out there.

I love history, historic architecture and Americana so my husband and I decided to stay at The Foundry Hotel. We loved. We enjoyed our comfy rood including the huge floor to ceiling drapes that were electronically controlled. We also love the history of the hotel being the working shops for the Biltmore. One night we went exploring and we found an old cargo elevator which was quite neat. From the hotel we were able to walk to many shops and restaurants. I ended up lining up our extra pillows under my duvet and was able to sleep ok that way. The noise level - cool but old building equals creaky floors, thin walls, and in our 2nd room, loud pipes. Our first room was so loud above we couldn't even enjoy tv at night let alone sleep (of course we had someone who seemed to be logging steps all evening and throughout the night). Positives: Breakfast - we included breakfast with our booking thru Hotels.com, and very glad we did. Service was slow but very friendly. Although I didn't believe them at first, included is any breakfast you want. You order anything off the menu and they remove the tabs from your bill. All the food we had over 3 mornings was fabulous. The water - filtered (and sparkling) water station in the lobby. We stopped by and filled up each day. Service - every employee was friendly and helpful. They happily moved us from a 2nd floor to top after night one was too loud. Restaurant staff always nice, valets were friendly. Great location - easy in and out, perfect location to roam downtown, loads of good restaurants nearby Rooms - decent sized rooms and bathrooms, comfy pillows, power curtains and large windows. Overall after I crafted my own soft mattress and relocated to a top floor room, we ended up having a great stay.

I booked a one-night stay at the Grand Bohemian on New Year's Eve, using points along with an elite night upgrade award. From the moment you arrive, the hotel is impressive. The drive-up experience feels like you're entering the hotel itself. The valet service was outstanding -- they handled our luggage and belongings with great care and provided clear, helpful instructions on where to go for check-in. Walking through the front doors, you're greeted by a large open fireplace with chairs and couches surrounding it, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The associate at check-in was excellent. She thanked us for being Titanium members, provided water, and clearly explained where our room was located. We took some time to walk around the hotel, especially since it had been closed due to last year's flooding. The restoration work was impressive -- floors and walls had been replaced, and much of the décor had either been cleaned or fully refreshed. The hotel looks amazing. We then went up to our second-floor king suite, and it was exceptional. Straight ahead was a large bathroom, with a deck and minibar to the left. Waiting for us was a board with chocolate-covered strawberries and a handwritten card wishing us a happy anniversary and my wife a happy birthday -- a very thoughtful touch. The view from our window overlooked the entrance to the Biltmore Estate. While waiting for our luggage to arrive, we turned on the 65" wall-mounted TV and took in the room. When the luggage arrived, it was promptly unloaded, clothes were hung in the closet, and everything was placed neatly -- truly excellent service. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. We had a late checkout, so we slept in, went downstairs for breakfast before it ended, then returned to the room for a nap before checking out. Breakfast was very good -- see my separate Yelp review of The Red Stag for details. Overall, this is an outstanding hotel. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you're well taken care of, and everyone we interacted with made us feel welcome. Yes, it's expensive -- but the level of service and attention to detail make it worth it. We will absolutely stay here again, or at one of the other Grand Bohemian hotels.

The showers were nice, bathrobes were super comfy as well as the beds. We like that there was several places in walking distance and a short drive to many restaurants and shops. Definitely a nice luxurious stay for us and they have the best smelling hand soap and lotion! The gym facility had everything I needed to do a solid work out. Really enjoyed staying here!

The location is close enough to downtown so that you can still find food in walking distance yet far enough removed from the noise to give you a bit of quiet. Unlike a downtown hotel, you also don't have to pay through the nose for parking. Staff are pleasant and knowledgeable about the area. The porch and patio areas make for relaxing outdoor spaces. The Princess Anne is an old building and though generally well-maintained, isn't immune to the occasional odd creak. Our room was, overall, fairly spacious (it included a kitchenette and dining/TV area), the bed was comfortable, and everything worked as it should. That said, the bathroom was tiny, even with the sink located in a different room. If you can abide by its quirks, the Princess Anne offers character, comfort, and charm, all at a fairly good value.

We went all out and reserved one of their 3-room "Master Suite". We ended up with THREE, VERY SPACIOUS and well appointed rooms. The bedroom included a king-size bed with a large flat screen TV attached bed; the kiving room included a sofa bed, upolstered chair and another large flat screen TV. The final room was dining area - complete with a dinig table, four dining chairs, two upholsted chairs and a kirchenette with a 2-burner stovee, a frg amd a microwave. The package my wife booked included an afternoon (5-6p) reception with a complimentary glass of wine or beer (addional glasses could be purchased) and a charcuterie board. You could enjoy your wine and charcuterie in their lounge area, on one of their porches (our choice) or back in your room. THe package also included breakfast which was served in the dining room. There was a breakfast "special of the day" or you could order from the menu. ALL of the staff - from the front desk personell to the servers in the dining room - was great. Great southern hospitality - always cheerful. This truly was a 5-STAR experience.

What stood out most was the hotel's unbeatable location, right in the heart of downtown. I was able to walk to every restaurant, bar, and shopping area I wanted to visit, which made the trip incredibly convenient. My room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and the water pressure and temperature were perfect. We stayed on the ninth floor facing the mountains, and the view was breathtaking, truly one of the highlights of the trip. Upon check-in, we were welcomed with a glass of champagne, which I appreciated, and even more impressive, they offered complimentary champagne every day from 3 PM to 9 PM. With the mountain views from our room, I didn't even feel the need to visit a rooftop bar! The staff at both check-in and checkout were phenomenal; friendly, efficient, and professional. We also used the valet service, which was excellent. Our car was always ready when we needed it, and the process was smooth every time. I can't say enough positive things about this hotel. As a choice hotel member we received a small bag of goodies then off to the room. The room was clean but it seemed there was a lot of wasted space. It seemed that the majority of the furniture was on one side of the room with a lot of just open space to the other side. The shower was also not really powerful. It was just drips but it could have been a better stream like the shower head needed an adjustment. The room had a safe which is a positive. One of the last items was really about that member bag. Seems like if you want to reward your members with a bottle of water. You should give them more than a tiny water bottle. So while there were a few drawbacks it wasn't entirely awful. Just some tweaks needed to be better.

Upon check-in, we were welcomed with the Biltmore champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a book about the estate--such thoughtful touches that made us feel instantly celebrated. Our room was beautiful, and the bed was incredibly comfortable--exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. The only minor downsides were the lack of accessible outlets for charging devices and no easy way to grab ice unless you called the operator or waited for housekeeping. We also noticed that sound traveled a bit--you can hear hallway noise due to the gap under the door. That said, the experience overall was exceptional. There's so much to do on the estate. The highlight for us was the complimentary wine tasting at Antler Hill Village--nearly an hour with 8 tastings per person, which honestly felt like such a great deal. We also rented bikes to explore the property, which was a fun and scenic way to take everything in. While there are several dining options, reservations are definitely needed--probably the only logistical wrinkle during our stay. One thing we really appreciated was the shuttle system around the estate. It made getting to places like the Biltmore House incredibly easy and stress-free.

The accommodations were very nice -- comfortable bed, well-appointed bathroom with shower, gorgeous views of the Blue Ridge mountains and surrounding estate. It's a large inn, seven floors, but the hallways were quiet and we didn't hear any noise from our room. The Library Lounge is on the lobby level and a place for drinks and light meals if you don't have a reservation for the Dining Room, which oddly, is downstairs. Both rooms were decked out for Christmas and as its focal point had a fireplace. The food was very good -- mostly we partook of the breakfast buffet (which was part of our package) and had a nice dinner there before our tour of Biltmore House. Service was excellent, from the hotel staff to the valet staff (they tried to bring us the Aston Martin (lol), to the dining staff and the shooting instructor (we had a clay shooting lesson). There is plenty to do for a long weekend -- biking, carriage rides, shooting, falconry, winery tour, riding, shopping, gardens, Biltmore House (of course), and more. A shuttle takes you to the different locations -- the winery, the shopping, the house, the gardens -- so if you didn't have a car you could get around via shuttle. I've wanted to visit Biltmore for many years and it definitely lived up to expectations. Staying at the Inn is one way to be close to the house. It was a very nice experience.
