The flavor and richness was a great balance. The chicken and pulled pork was not dry. Everything was perfectly seasoned. The heat level for HOT was just right. Lastly, they give you a lot of meat. We stopped on our way through town, driving home to Des Moines. I saw it pop up on Yelp and they were open til 8:30 which was just enough time for us to try it. Glad we did! I ordered the Huli huli chicken bowl. It was VERY good I was pleasantly surprised. The meat was a little sweet but mostly savory, very tender and well cooked. The rice was great too- flavorful and not overly dry or mushy. I ordered black beans as a side and mixed it in. My husband ordered sliders, they let him get one of each. He was really excited to be able to sample all the meats and said everything was good especially the pork. For our toddler we bought the kids quesadilla. It was a simple cheese quesadilla But made the little one happy. It came with an applesauce cup and nachos. They did forget to give us a spoon for the applesauce, and we had to make do with a fork which was pretty messy. But no big deal in the end! I was excited to try this restaurant but after eating there unfortunately I cannot recommend it. Pros: interest menu. Decent selection. Friendly service. Cons: food quality and taste was disappointing. Got pork sliders and hulu chicken rice bowl with some sides. Rice was very cheap tasting. Seasonings were off in general. Beans were bland. Worst tortilla chips on the side I've ever had. Restaurant atmosphere was odd island themed with bad music and decorations. The owners need to try much harder. read more

Zeke's has amazing food & some really unique flavors! We ordered carry out for a work lunch this afternoon and I tried the Crispy Shrimp Salad with Tango Mango vinaigrette. It was super fresh and delicious. My coworkers all got the Garlic Chili Shrimp tacos and I'll definitely be trying those next time. There's so many options, I'm already excited to go back. RIGHT after we ordered, the food came out (no longer than like two minutes) which is nice and all but not when the rice was cold and meat was lukewarm! Little dip in the sweet and sour sauce and was definitely not expecting how nice that was. I don't even think I was that hungry! I used to visit L&L BBQ when I lived in Colorado. Since moving to Davenport, I've been missing my island fix. That's until I found Zeke's 2 in Duck Creek Plaza, Bettendorf. Tried the Hulihuli chicken sliders and couldn't believe the amount of chicken they give you. Notice they have protein bowls which is double protein with no rice or sides. I don't venture outside of what I know, but I'm traveling for work and the menu caught my attention. The meat was cooked perfectly, had the perfect amount of moistness along with just the right amount of spices and flavors. I am a Meat Scientist, so please believe me this Jerk Chicken and pulled Pork is the real deal. A very generous portion of amazing food. The Banana Beach Bum Cocktail is no less quality than the food. If I lived in this town they would know me by name. I would love to have a flavor gallery in my town of Grand Rapids, Michigan. They're were fast!!!! Zeke's looks like nothing special- strip mall fast food, but I assure you there is nothing like it!!! Hours have been variable during COVID but they have been accommodating. Unbelievable Big Kahuna nachos! These were delivered, so by the time I get them, the chips are gonna be soggy, right? NO WAY! And I'm pretty sure I wasn't even the delivery guy's first stop. So, we have a single dense layer of CRISPY chips (who needs the chips underneath with no toppings on them?). They're covered with lots of melted cheese, chunks and shreds of delicious pulled pork and the usual suspects (sour cream, tomatoes, green onions), plus barbecue sauce ... SO GOOD! Top ratings! The rest of my meal was good, but didn't quite live up to the appetizer. I had the Caribbean Combo: more good pulled pork and chunks of savory jerk chicken (good flavor but no noticeable heat (this is Iowa, after all) on top of ok rice and beans (sorry, my Latina mother-in-law has me permanently spoiled for rice and beans.). It came with an egg roll which, sadly, was a bit soggy from the delivery but still tasted good. Dessert was the Crispy Banana Peanut Butter Egg Roll. I love the downtown Davenport location... But this is a lot more convenient to where we live. This is a smaller version. They actually have a breakfast menu and some coffee, although it's a fairly limited menu as far as that goes. The main food offerings are the same as the other location. Located in the same shopping center as Shnuck's and McDonald's, there's lots of parking. Limited seating, but I don't think it tends to be particularly crowded. No liquor at this location as far as I can tell. read more
