This place in AMAZING! If you wish to eat an authentic American style pub burger this is the place. This is probably the best burger in all of Franken. Try the Franken Burger, wash it down with a Goeller pils but first buckle your seat belt because you are about to take a journey to burger nirvana. It is truly that good. A must try. read more

When we arrived in the afternoon, the place was already buzzing. My friend knew one of the managers, we said hello, grabbed beers, and sat at a table overlooking the city of Bamberg. Spectacular! We looked over the menu and we both chose the same thing- Schweinekrustenbraten- Pork Shoulder- a local delicacy. We drank our beers and caught up with each other, enjoying the views and the people having a good time. Our food arrived after a bit of a wait, but I was not surprised given how busy they were. Our server set our plates in front of us and we ordered more beers. My pork was perfect- crispy skin and moist and tender meat underneath. It came with a side of "Wirsing," which is Savoy Cabbage, and it was delicious! After eating, we ordered another beer and shared Apfelkrapfen, sort of an apple fritter- scrumptious! We enjoyed our beer and watched the sunset before heading back down the hill. This place is a must-visit if you are in Bamberg...

They had some vegan options, so I got a chili sin carne here (€13.40), which was very well-made --made with lentils, unusually. Given our experience then, I feel confident saying that the Naturfreundehaus in Schweinfurt made our favorite Käsespätzle. The spätzle was perfect in size, shape, and texture and flavorful entirely on its own. However, the addition of käse and perfectly cooked onions (and bacon for the mister) made this dish utterly fantastic. It remains a family favorite, thanks in huge part to this location. The menu was expansive, and during the summer months it was always lovely to sit in the biergarten and enjoy fresh food and refreshing brews. Highly highly highly recommend if you happen to be in the area, or passing through!
