8/12/26 - Update So I have an update on my review. After my review I left, I got a phone call from Ziegler wanting to know how they can fix this with me. I said that in order to fix it I would need to be reimbursed $500 that I know had to spend out of my pocket to fix something that they lied about fixing and saying it costed them $2000 to fix when I purchased this car. I was told that could be doable and that someone would reach out and guess what??? Ghosted again!! I would not ever recommend Harold Ziegler to anyone. Bad business Harold Ziegler. Shame on you!! "This is the first review left a couple weeks or more ago" last year I bought a car 2020 Nissan Murano from Jacob Sweeney. Jacob Sweeney was the only good part of my experience. There was an issue that when I got home to Grand Rapids, from purchasing the car, the passenger side corner bumper panel was popped out almost like the bumper came unsnapped. Long story short, Jacob had me come back to have them repair this as I just bought it and same day this happened just driving home. All fixed picked it up and no more than drove home and it was popped again. I had to return not once but 2 more times with this same issue and being told that they fixed it when it fact Trey did not fix it at all. I was told that the last time they had it for over a week as they said a new bumper and parts being ordered from Nissan to replace bumper and clips. I was told that zeigler paid a repair shop that they use over $2000 to repair this. Now here I am a year later with an issue that cause my front bumper to be moved to repair something unrelated and come to find out, that all they did was glue everything. Now I am paying a different company $500 out of my pocket to fix this the right way and not just glue it and lie to me saying they put all new parts to repair it. When I reached out to the manager David Gould at zeigler this is what I was told " We spent over $1700 fixing that car over a "clip. " They had the whole front end off that car. They put it back the best absolutely they could and we are no longer gonna participate in the repair of this unit. One clip turned into almost $2000 on our end and we're not coming out of pocket with any more money. I do understand your frustration, however it was fix the best that they can do. We're going to have to move on and pass on this. This is my final decision, I told Jacob Sweeney that that was my final time taking that up there to get it fixed. And then I'm not participating any more Goodwill monies on this vehicle." I said how can he not be mad at the company they claim that they paid $2000 to not fix but to just glue instead and lie saying they fixed it. If I would have known this repair was not being done correctly I would have chisen to actually not purchase this car and bring my business else where but they kept me by telling me that they would fix this correctly. Now I have to pay $500 out of my pocket for a repair that they claimed to have fixed. David Gould has not responded to any more of my emails since. Terrible way to do business and shame on you Zeigler with lying about a repair to the point of saying they ordered new clips and bumper from Nissan and it cost them $2000 when there is not a single clip put in and only glue. I have pictures of all the missing clip holes with glue everywhere. I have all communication with zeigler through this whole process and I'm mortified that a dealership would do a customer like this. I am paying a lot of money for this car and now having to come out of pocket for something they lied to me saying it war fixed. I wish I could post the pictures of it all here. Don't go to Harold zeigler fire in Plainwell. They are liars and will take advantage of a customer in a heart beat. My salesman Jacob Sweeney was the only good out of my experience. read more

My car has been here for 15 days and they have yet to look at it after I've stopped in to check 4+ times

Waaay too long to type. I need to meet w/ management on this one or I may have cause for legal action. I feel it's come down to thee only way I'm going to get these folks to listen to me. My mom had a fabulous experience when we bought her used Ford Ranger from Zeigler Plainwell. That's why I came back to purchase another! I I'M A REPEAT CUSTOMER! A customer you'd think they'd like to keep. ‍ It's re: a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder that had 70,xxx miles on it. I purchased it from J9 in March of 2024. Problems began in 1st WEEK I think it was (I have documentation up the wazoo) I shit you not. Hopefully a fair, final outcome. I just don't feel like repeating my story for the 100th time to different employees because of: staffing issues, new hires, fired or just left employees, promotion's of staff (great for them) but I have to start reinventing the wheel because clearly they have no system to document service note, details, etc. about my vehicle. I'm willing to place a wager that my poor car has been in service for a 1/2-1/8 of the time I've OWNED it...not even 2 yrs yet. read more

While sitting in the service parking all my grandson's belongings were stolen from his car bcs HZF neglected to lock its door. After a police report, being informed the security cameras in the service area were outdated and inoperable, several visits, phone calls and promises of phone calls that never came the family was told not the problem of HZF. The company blamed the victim, the towing company, suggested the tow truck driver came back and stole his belongings but refused to admit their own mistakes. After a snarky post on a local gossip page the DSM joined the page only to threaten me with legal action. But like every other promise, no corporate goons came knocking on my door. They finally offered $250 (25%) of the insurance deductible. The family had to accept this bcs work tools needed to be replaced immediately. read more

Buyer beware! They sell used and heavily damaged vehicles like they are new ones. We bought a brand new Explorer that they had a lot of hail damage repairs done to that devalued the car just as though it was in a major accident but they act as though they know nothing. Luckily they filed a claim with their insurance and we can prove it in court! Dirty bastards! read more

Unless you have a lot of support, I think you are likely to get conned here, like I was. It started out fine, good oil changes and fixed an electrical issue, but about a year in the lying and scamming started. They didn't fix a coolant leak issue and repeatedly tried to gaslight me. It started with one guy Kyle, then kept going and all the way to the top service manager, Mike. These tactics, disorders even, I've learned are actually quite common, with denial and then playing the victims. You'll see if you don't understand yet. I think maybe one person I met there was healthy and not trying to work a crooked angle. read more

I bought a used car from Zeigler in November. I thought the price was fair and the vehicle great. I bought it essentially as is and quickly noted a problem. I left a negative review with barely consulting them about the issue. Well I raised the issue and they bent over backwards to fix it at no cost. I so wish I could take back my negative review as I never expected this amazing treatment. read more

Long story short, I they refused to accept a ready loan check from MSUFCU stating that "per their dealership agreement" they simply process a new loan app and MSUFCU takes care of the rest. proved to be wrong when MSUFCU sent a counter offer and received no response from the dealership since I already left with the car. 2 weeks later I'm told i need to cough up $1,800 since they already paid the trade in off and that was the difference owed. Called MSUFCU and nothing was done after MAUFCU sent the counter offer. MSUFCU ultimately processed it the way the dealership wanted and not how I had already set it up with MSUFCU. Per MSUFCU they got their added commission and I got screwed. read more

After learning about my issues with Zeigler, the General Manager, David Gould got involved and within one week all issues were resolved. Thank you for taking care of this and delivering the customer service one would expect. As a matter of fact, doing a bit more than one would expect. Again, thank you. I'm very pleased with your actions. read more

Sold me a F150. Two days later service engine light is on and I have to replace the catylitic converter. During repairs I was told that the engine had cam phaser problems. Took it to another dealership to get a trade in value and they would only give me 2000 due to the cam phasers. read more

Avery is so dope I'm gonna name my first born after him. They know how to seek hood cars

Rob Caro is awesome! We have never had a great car buying experience and don't like the pushy sales experience. What a refreshing experience at Harold Ziegler Plainwell and the best customer service I've received in any industry. We worked with Rob Caro. He was detailed, knowledgeable, did what he said he would do and went above and beyond to find a vehicle that matched our needs and budget. He even had vehicles brought in from other lots and ready for us at our appointment time. We literally walked up to 3 trucks lined up, all perfect options, and ready for us to test out. There was never pressure, only great service that truly put our needs first. Thanks Rob!! Those 5 stars were earned and we are grateful to you. read more

Zeigler Plainwell Ford - Car Dealers Near Me - Plainwell, Michigan

I just bought a vehicle from Jake Shook at Ziegler Ford, Plainwell MI. Everything about the transition was fantastic! Jake is amazing to deal with and a very honest person. The price for the vehicle was excellent too. I cannot say enough positive things about how well the transaction went and how detail oriented Jake is. Liz in the finance department also did a great job. I will definitely go back to Ziegler and deal with Jake again when I need another vehicle! read more

1 star I called Harold Zeigler Ford around 5:15pm on Friday to inquire about a couple of vehicles I was interested in test driving. I asked for a salesman that seemed to be very highly recommended among the general public to enhance my overall experience with the company. During my call, I explained to him that I lived about 45 minutes from their location and wasn't leaving my house for another 10 minutes or so. Upon receiving his blessing to head down there to check out the vehicles we got in the car to head down there. A few minutes later he left a message on my voicemail to tell me that one of the vehicles had been moved to another location but we would work it out so I was able to test both of them. About 55 minutes later, just after 6pm we show up to a locked and completely closed building. When I called to ask what was going on, I received no return call for about 10 minutes. When I finally did get a call back, his excuse was that "he thought I knew what the hours of operation were." When I told him it seemed a little bit ridiculous that it would be assumed that I would know the hours of every dealership I car shopped at he informed me that I put him between a rock and a hard place because he was riding his bike and it was raining out so he left when I wasn't there. I asked him why he gave us the go ahead to come down and take a look at the vehicles when I told him how far we were away and he just kept saying he didn't know what else to do when I wasn't there at closing time. I don't understand why he could call and leave a voicemail telling me about the change in status of one of the vehicles, but he couldn't leave a voicemail telling me that even though we had just spoken and agreed on the general time frame I was going to be there, he was going to go home because it was sprinkling out. By this time I was fed up with the terrible customer service and informed him that I would be writing a review. I don't want to include his name because I really don't want other potential customers to see him in this light. I just want them to be wary when dealing with this dealership. read more

Rob Caro is seriously amaze! After 'googling' HZ I started looking on their site. Feeling overwhelmed by so many choices, I called the first number I could find on the site. Rob picked up the phone and was incredibly warm and helpful. We chatted for a bit, and he was off to pick out the SUV I was interested in. Within a few hours he emailed me some choices. The rest is history. He was incredibly professional and FUN to work with! He made buying a car extremely seamless, and I had to do zero work! As long as Rob is there I will continue purchasing my vehicles from him, and recommend you do as well! The finance guy was pretty hilarious as well. All in all a great experience! read more

Went to look at a used car. Worked with a salesperson and tried to put a deal together. Salesperson called back with higher finance rate and we bought where the interest was cheaper. We were looking for a new/used vehicle. I don't like to be "Sold", I do a lot of research on my own, so I had an idea what we wanted. We worked with Rob Caro, manager of Pre-owned cars, and could not have been more pleased. Rob was quick to respond to my inquiry and thorough with the information he provided. He was extremely knowledgable about the F-150 and was able to answer questions we didn't even know we had based on his experience with towing campers. He was also extremely friendly and down-to earth and at no time did we ever feel pressured. The pricing was fair and we were thrilled to get a newer used truck with low mileage. Would highly recommend! read more

I worked with Bob Cline on a Ford Extended Warranty for my '13 C-Max Energi. They have the best price in the US even though I live in California and shopped local dealers first. I had the worst sales experience when purchasing a truck ever. I was pretty much forced to do all the paperwork and check signing on friday on my way out of town when i told them i could easily wait till the following week. i am positive it was because friday was the end of the month and someone needed to hit a quota. i was forced to wait in a waiting room that was disgusting for over an hour and a half (missing dinner) waiting to sign paperwork. the truck was then given to me afterwards not meeting any of the agreements we had mentioned. it was not detailed at all. the floors were filthy and the entire interior gross. under the hood was covered in dirt. you could tell some kid in the back hit it with a pressure washer and called it good. now i'm waiting for my license plate in the mail three days past expiration of the paper certificate. so i can't even drive my own truck because someone didn't file the paperwork appropriately. you would think when signing over a check of a years worth of income you would receive better customer care. read more
