This place is delightful and delicious. We sat outside as we did not have reservations but the staff luckily was very kind and accommodating. The pesto is delicious you cannot go wrong with the pesto ravioli or lasagna which is just the noodle size. The black spaghetti vongole was also delightful. The place is very intimate and romantic, perfect for a date but also welcoming for a nice size party. A mist visit!

Not fresh! Terrible entree!

Service was over the top pushy, very pushy. When we didn't choose the $80. wine suddenly the staff treated us differently. It was a Friday night and after our underwhelming meal we understood why the restaurant was never full, only 7 tables ate while we were there. Such a tourist trap, I would not recommend! The seafood dish was so bad, rubbery fish. The piece of meat was so tough, nothing was edible The veal okay, too much thick panko type batter and it wasn't hot when served. Never offered a complimentary aperitif after dinner like every other restaurant in Italy. Food may have been years ago, it's not anymore. Do yourself a favor and skip this restaurant!

One of the most memorable lunches we've had. Nothing was too much trouble. My wife asked about 2 different vegetarian dishes she was contemplating and the waiter kindly offered to make half & half so she could experience both! That is not something that happens typically. Beautiful decor and the owner Marco and his family run an incredible operation and worth a visit next time you are in Genova

A very, very classy restaurant, not in the middle of the city but you can reach it easily. They accept if you walk in just wearing shorts, shirt and sandals but be aware that the other guest might give you strange looks :) Starting with the service, as the previous reviews say, the service is good, even if they take their time when the restaurant is crowded. After we entered they offered us a welcome drink and a started as "Greetings from the kitchen" which already was delicious. Okay, one have to admit it is quite pricey. We spent ~200€ for a 4 person dinner, but keeping in mind what we ate and drunk, not to mention the quality of the food and that it was realy amazing, I think the price is okay. Not cheap at all but not too expensive, meaning the food/service value is okay. Btw. You can have a bottle of wine for round about 800€, just saying ..

Dessert sampler a MUST!!!

Wow, what can I say. The food, atmosphere and the service was all outstanding. The server even helped to customize our pasta dishes so we could try smaller portions of more items.

Excellent service, food is very good, but quite pricey. Dining room is larger than most in Genoa's city center.

We also tried their special of the day which translated to "nut pasta" but essentially was a cacio e pepe with pine nuts, amazing, but can not compare to the pesto pasta. If you come here, expect a wait because this place is loved by tourists and locals. I'd recommend any pasta dish because it's all homemade and seasoned so well. Their other offerings are average, nothing to note as a recommendation.

Trattoria Ugo is a completely legit and ultra-authentic eatery with a clientele that's more than 90 precent locals - that's how good the food is! The food here is nothing short of amazing and the portion sizes are so generous that it's almost impossible to go away hungry :-) Everything on the menu is wonderful, but I highly recommend the pasta with pesto. There's also a surprisingly broad wine list, and their house wine is very good, and really inexpensive - it pairs very nicely with the pesto. Water (both sparlking and still) is complimentary, and the service is outstanding - you'll have an incredible meal here! Tip: The portion sizes being as large as they are, I strongly suggest you pick either one primo or one secondo; if you get both it will be very difficult to finish.

Though they didn't speak any English their ordering system was simple: choose your noodle, then your sauce, and voila! They served the food with soft dipping bread. The service was fast. The food was outstanding. The price was VERY inexpensive. The only thing you have to watch out for is water cost money in Europe even though tap water is potable. They sell you bottled water at a cost (and I'm not sure every place recycles). Most places beer and soda are cheaper than water. Thus, I got beer! Having had a long drive and wanting to get back to the AirBnB this place was a perfect location with the perfect menu for an outstanding price!
