We were in Genoa on a day trip from Milan. My husband's grandparents were originally from the area. He makes a family recipe for Pesto but wanted to taste it in Genoa. We felt so lucky to find this gem of a restaurant. They have a daily lunch special that is affordable and very popular with the locals. Pesto was not on the lunch menu so we ordered from the regular menu. We had an appetizer of focaccia with pesto, pesto on pasta and a delicious gnocchi with red sauce and shrimp. The pesto was fantastic and the potato gnocchi as light as air. Service was very good. Our server didn't speak English but we carried on with our limited Italian and lots of pointing. After lunch we met the chef who has taken over the position from her mother. A very delightful and delicious experience! read more
