I used IM because they had installed other window treatments in a residence I purchased. In retrospect, I should have used the Shade Store where I have had a good experience in the past. Ultimately, the window treatments were fine, but the process was quite unpleasant. Feedback to Shivani: If selling shades is beneath you, perhaps you are in the wrong business. When you weren't MIA, you were uncommunicative, curt, and unconcerned.

We had a very good experience working with Interior Motif, from the first time we visited the store…read moreto get initial estimates for customized closets for our new home (a condo unit in a high rise) all the way through to successful installation. The staff was accessible, good with follow through, funny, and very helpful: when they came to do the closet measurements they also helped us with a temporary fix after one of the closet racks from when we moved in had collapsed. The staff person gave us good details on how to maximize space in two crowded closets and led us to have much better organization in our new home. The scheduled installation day took a few weeks before actual installation due to it being a busy season. Still, the closets were completed a couple of weeks earlier than Interior Motif's initial time estimate, which made us happy. We will return here for future closet work and recommend it for others.

They are Hunter Douglas Luminettes which are pricy to replace, especially since I have oversized windows. While I was at it I decided to have them professionally cleaned via ultrasonic method recommended by the manufacturer. I had no first hand recommendations but called 5 companies I found on the Internet, including Yelp. Two of the companies could not fit me in to their schedule for 3-7 weeks and I left messages for the others. The owner of Bright 'N Clean called me back right away and said he was in the neighborhood and would stop by THAT DAY to give me a price quote. Upon inspection he told me he would take the blinds back to his shop, have them cleaned and reinstalled with new hardware in 1-2 days. The process was quick, the price competitive and the blinds were beautifully cleaned. I highly recommend Bright 'N Clean and would use them again.

This happens so often, they have someone in the US that repaints panels. For some reason he doesn't even have the paint from the factory. He has to try to eye match the correct color. In my case, he got it wrong and it had to be re-done AGAIN. On top of all of this, the surface SCRATCHES VERY EASILY. Believe all the bad reviews. I wish I had.

We tasked them with replicating an existing…read moreshade and, except for two child protection elements that are required by law, they said that they could do so. Unfortunately, (as is evidenced by the photos, with their shade being the top one in both images) they failed miserably. After installation we noticed that the fabric was not draping properly. This was not noticed until after they left, and the lights were turned on in the room creating shadows with the fabric. They took zero responsibility here and said that they steamed the shade before they left and have decades of experience. That was it. End of conversation concerning this as they basically disappeared ignoring emails and phone messages, forcing us to spend a lot more money to have another company repair their inadequate work. Of course, this lack of communication from them was after full payment was made. There are lots of other companies to choose from in the New York metropolitan area and Manhattan Shade and Associates should be the very last resort. Stay away.
