He carries a great variety of high quality options and makes solid suggestions along the way. In some rooms we went with honeycomb blackout shades, we also went with roller shades, and even a motorized skylight shade that runs on solar power. We had one hiccup where I realized the installed shades were the wrong shade and did not match the skylight. I reached out to Marcus and he was able to quickly replace the wrong color and got everything squared away. If we have any other blinds needs, we will definitely call The Blind Guy!

We hired David Russell to build an addition onto our house. We had plans already drawn up and he…read morewas able to provide many adjustments that helped in practical, design and money saving ways. He was able to keep our vision in mind while providing these suggestions which helped produce a better overall approach and outcome to the project. He served as the general contractor for the project and used hand-picked companies that he has worked with for years. He does this to ensure he knows what quality he will be getting out of who he works with and understands their work reflects upon him and his standards. One of the things I really liked about working with Dave is he was onsite throughout most of the work. In fact, Dave and one other staff did the majority of the work. He told us during the interview that he would be doing most of the work. I was glad to see this was the case. To kick off the project, Dave stepped through each phase, to include costs. The contract was specific and detailed. He understood the contract protected both him and us and was meant to keep everyone on the same page for expectations and the work to be done. We have come across plenty of people in the past 12 years that felt contracts were not needed or evil, to then use this fuzziness to get out of doing work or asking for extra money. Dave worked with us on any changes we requested as well as needing to adjust due to unplanned circumstances. He was very easy to work with and very fair when it came to the extra or unplanned work. The final outcome was a fantastic living space plus garage that we are very pleased with.

And finally, when issues arise, as they inevitably do in projects of this size, KCCNE has been very easy to work with to get the issue resolved. No fuss or any problems. I definitely recommend KCCNE.

We worked with The Drapery House on a number of projects over the years and spent more than $30,000…read moreon custom window treatments and design work. Their craftsmanship and design expertise have always been exceptional -- no question there. Earlier this year, while cleaning out my home office files, I came across documentation from a project dating back six years -- one that had never been fulfilled. To be completely transparent, I had forgotten about it until now. I reached out to request a $200 refund for the uncompleted work. Despite providing clear documentation and context, my request was handled dismissively. It's disappointing that after years of loyal business, The Drapery House refused to honor such a simple, good-faith request. It makes it clear they do not value long-term customers. It's also worth noting that The Drapery House is not BBB accredited, which may help explain the lack of accountability we experienced. It's a shame when a company known for quality undermines its reputation over something so small. I'd be glad to share the full email correspondence with The Drapery House to anyone interested in understanding the experience in detail.

I can't overstate how wonderful the RH team is. We interviewed a lot of design + build firms and they won out (and were very patient along the way as we went back and forth with questions and requests to meet again... and again). This is the first time we've taken on a project like this and I had a lot of anxiety and concerns, and they helped every step of the way helping me understand the what ifs, the process, the opportunities of when or how to modify decisions, etc. We also have a very shy cat who requires some extra care when strangers are around, and the main builder on our project has been so accomodating and respectful of our needs to support her through the construction, and he ensured all other parties did the same. The quality of craftmanship is outstanding, not just the RH crew but all of their subcontractors as well. You will always hit bumps in the road along the way but I feel like we were in the best hands possible to navigate those bumps. We've had such a stellar experience with RH -- from first inquiries, to design meetings, to the actual work -- that we will 100% return to them for any of our needs, and are already thinking through the next possible project with them.
