SHE CONSTANTLY KEEPED CHANGING THE DANCE ROUTINE, THE DANCE ROUTINE WAS VERY HARD 2-3 YEARS OLD. She has a Stage in her Studio & tht is where the Recitals R @, The Costumes was very cheesy & cheap from the Dollar Store & there wasn't a lit of ppl tht attended @ all. She has 2 Recitals Dec & June-Aug. My daughter attended Dance Camp here in Jun. 2015, She knw I had a Special Needs Child tht was still in pull-ups, I told the owner this, She did not change her pull-up @ all, but yet she took my 100.00 a week from me, Tht wht she charges 4 Dance Camp. She walks ur kids in the Hot Sun 2 the Movies & She charges 15.00 4 Kids 2 go Swimming, Pools R Free in Phily, PA. The owner have her favorite kid that she likes, It shows when U bring them 2 Dance Classes, Kids tht attended in Sept. In January U will not see the kids come back @ all. I ask her so many times to offer more Dance classes, She lies & say she would, Jazz, Modern, & Acro, but never did when I was there....She try to say my daughter was way behind in Dance that was a lie, The Owner claims she has Dance Experience but do nit @ all. I got fed up & left.. MY daughter is 6 years old now & She attends Equilibrium Dance Academy in South Philadelphia Since Sept. 2018-Present. She was in Pre-Ballet & moved up 2 Ballet 1. She takes Jazz & Tap!!!! Both of her Dance Teachers say she's doing exceptionally well in both classes!!! They have a Real Dance Recital, equilibrium Dance Academy offers Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hop, & Musical Theater the classes are full wth 5-15 kids, Have lots of Dance Classes 2-Adults. ......So glad tht I left GEG Performing Arts Academy.. I've acted in several student films, and written two screenplays. With a team of talent fellow-students, I turned them into films- one of which was selected for a film festival. The best part, for me, is the opportunity to act on stage. A big plus is getting together with so many talented people, all of whom are eager to share their knowledge and help others in the class. Enrolling in the Playhouse is the best decision I've made in years. By the way, I'm 77-years old.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the all-ages storytime at the newest Baby Wordplay location…read more During our storyplay, Ms. Pam read multiple stories and sang lots of songs with us. I'd say the 15 "littles" there ranged in ages from under 3 months to probably 2-3, and she did a great job of keeping them engaged. A couple of other things I noticed/appreciated: -A "no screens" rule -- not only can you not be on your phones, they can't be out! While the documentarian parent in me resisted at first, it turns out that living in and enjoying the moment is actually not so awful. ;) -Restroom with a changing table (should be a given anywhere, but we all know it isn't) -A storyplay specifically focused on dads and grandpas. In a mom-focused world, it's nice to see a place for men to be fathers and grandfathers. -Books for sale! Including books she'd shared with us, books I knew, and books I'd never seen before. -If you buy a book per member of your family, that pays for your admission for the day. (Classes are normally $10, but you can buy a pass for 10 classes for $90.) -As we were leaving, a birthday party was coming in -- I thought this was a great idea, especially in the middle of a very cold winter. The teachers have great singing voices and all of the children enjoy the stuffed animals and acting out th e noises they make. My son particularly likes the instruments that the teachers use that he hasn't seen anywhere else. This class is never TOO crowded unlike the location in grad Hospital where there is sometimes nowhere to sit! We love coming here and love that you can buy a few books to cover the class for the class. They have an a,axing children's book selection in both Spanish and English.

I'm a regular at Zachary Kapeluck's Adult Intermediate Contemporary class on Mondays. He makes it easy for dancers of all levels to move their bodies and really hone in on this style of dance. If it helps any, the first class you take is free, and you have the options of taking ballet, ballet fitness, and afro street grooves as well. There are also youth classes and a plethora of other things, so I definitely recommend checking out the website for specific information!

The convenient location on Walnut makes it very easy to work into my schedule, and the classes themselves are fairly intimate. There's classes and camps for kiddos, heels classes, tap, hot girl jazz, music theatre, and more. Before coming to Major Moment I hadn't done any ballet in about six years, and to be honest it had…read morenever really been my thing. Now I'm a total ballet addict, and it's all thanks to Beverly, the studio's owner and ballet teacher. Beverly does a wonderful job welcoming newcomers to the studio and making ballet accessible to those who haven't done it in years or have never tried it before. At the same time she manages to challenge her regulars. Classes are drop-in but she spends each month or two working on developing specific skills through drills and short choreography sequences. Every class is a little different. I constantly feel challenged, and I feel like my dancing is always improving. In addition to the regular ballet classes there is also BalletEXTREME, a high-intensity ballet fitness class, and small group pre-pointe lessons. Some women in the pointe class used to do pointe when they were younger and are returning to it years later. Many, like me, had never done it before (and probably thought they would never get the chance, like I did). If you ever wanted to try pointe I highly recommend these classes. Ballet isn't the only option at Major Moment. There are many great classes offered at the studio including Zumba, hip hop, and tap (all of which are offered through Philly Dance Fitness, reviewed separately). But ballet is my favorite!

I took a ballet class offered through PDF with Beverly (Beverly is the owner of Major Moment) this past Monday, and WOW! I had taken a few classes at Koresh to try to get myself back into the ballet game, but it was way too intense for me, a lowly "use to be a ballet dancer in high school". This class offered by Beverly was great - she went through the basics including the positions, tendus, degages, ronde de jambes, etc, with some barre work, then we moved to the center for the last half hour of class. I can't stress enough how amazing this class was - it seemed that most people around the room who were doing pretty well, and I know there were some beginners in the class. Beverly has a great personality, with absolutely no attitude - she is simply interested in furthering people's interest in dance while having fun! An added bonus - even though the class seemed slightly easy at the time, I woke up the next day feeling absolutely sore! It was an awesome feeling :) I can't wait to take another class with Beverly!
