On moving day they arrived on-time and ready to go. They loaded a 10'x15' storage bay (all items were boxed) and wrapped furniture pieces. They were loaded and ready to go within 30 minutes. They were very, very careful with all items. They made it to our new home in Galveston within an hour and had everything unloaded and where we wanted within an hour. They even insisted on unloading our SUV with items we had packed! This company did a bang-up job in a careful and timely manner. They did their job, carefully wrapping & packaging big items and glassware. Started with 4 ppl, upon unpacking the truck only 3 returned. I was quoted $115 an hour & an $85 travel fee. They were 30 minutes late. 1230-330=$487. If you are going to charge an $85 travel fee , time to the next location should not be charged, especially if you used time to drop off the 4th person. Kevin and his team were great!! We have a massive 300lb dresser, a 150lbs media dresser and two 150lb bed side dressers needing to be moved from our second floor to our garage. Mind you we have a staircase that turns twice on the way down. But Kevin knocked it out fast!! And with ZERO damage, not even a scuff on the floors. I provided my move details to Kevin today,4/6 for a potential move on 4/8. He had a discount listed on Yelp, but offered me full price. I inquired why I was not given the listed discount and he said that he thought that he did give it to me. I asked why would I give money away and there's a discount? I sent a screen shot of what was listed on Yelp and he said that it didn't matter because he updated it. He also stopped texting and I inquired if the lack of response meant he did not want to honor the discount or he was no longer interested in the job. He responded and implied that I wanted the job for less than what he was charging, which was not listed until he updated it on Yelp during the text exchange. I explained that I didn't expect him to charge less, simply honor the discount. The difference in the discount and the amount he was willing to charge was $1.00. I had no problem with this, but he did not want to honor the listed $99/hr for 3 men because he said he will not accept anything less than $100/hr for 3 men. I was willing to pay the $1.00 difference, but he no longer wanted my business. I mentioned to him that he has great reviews and not to ruin that with unprofessionalism. He did exactly what I encouraged him not to do. Unfortunately, carefully moving furniture does not equate to professionalism. 4/6/2023 2:25 pm Thank you for your response. I hired Zavala movers to arrive at 1pm so we could load up and get on the road for a long distance move. They called at 1 and said they wouldn't be there until 3pm. They called at 2pm and told me they were "on their way". 3pm rolls around still not there, I call them and now they are just now on their way so they lied when they said they were on their way over an hour ago. I tell the manager I want a discount for them being over 3 hours late because this affects our ENTIRE moving schedule to get out of town and he says ok we'll talk when it's done. The movers finally show up after 4pm and were completely unprofessional. Asked to use my bathroom when I had my dogs locked in one bathroom and my cat locked in the other bathroom to keep them out of the way. So I had to move my animals and he leaves the toilet seat up. Of course my soap is packed so I have to ask him to use hand sanitizer- gross ! So you're telling me after showing up 3 hours late he didn't even use the bathroom before coming?? Then he asks if we have anything to drink or eat "like pizza"!!!!! Unbelievable. When everything is obviously packed up! We did give them some water. When it was time to move the couch my husband and I both sat there and told them the feet had to be taken off to fit it through the door, they argued and said no no no it will fit. And I said they needed to wrap it and they said they would wrap it AFTER getting it through the door. Well guess what? They insisted on CRAMMING it through the door with no protection bc they were too lazy to take 5 seconds to remove the feet and they tore the Swede on the back of our $3,000 custom made couch!!!! I AM PISSED. Of course they didn't tell us then wrapped it up and covered it so we didn't see it until we unwrapped it at our new location. When they were done I called the owner and asked for a discount and he refused!!! Said sorry too bad "things happen". So we paid but didn't tip them, and the guy had the nerve to ask where he tip was! My husband was like excuse me you showed up 3 hours late and now we can't get on the road tonight!! Unreliable, unprofessional, and damaged our belongings. A simple discount would have prevented this review, but the owner didn't want to do the right thing. read more
