I tried: baguette, a sandwich, pain préféré, brioche mounia, the escargots, the flan, the croissant, the pain au chocolat, a fondant au chocolat. Their bread has no rivals in Paris, in my opinion. Special mention to the pain au chocolat, which is crumbly (a very good sign) and tastes like it has a whole chocolate stick. I have yet to try something I didn't like there. On the downside, it's far in the 20th (the closest metro line is the pointless 3bis) and closed on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Each time it's a journey to get there. But a rewarding one.

I do my best to order and communicate in French, and I appreciated that the lady helping me spoke back to me in French as well, and was patient with my poor language skills. I was extremely surprised and very appreciative that she actually gifted me an extra slice of tart aux pommes!! I didn't expect that and I felt very welcomed by such a exchange. I got a few pastries and it was still early enough that they were still warm! The Croissant was probably the best I had on this trip. It helped that the Croissant was fresh and warm, but it was also crispy on the outside and buttery & flaky on the inside. The Pain au Chocolat was also great but it could have used more chocolate for my liking. The Chausson aux Pommes was sweet, slightly acidic from the apples, and definitely heavier of the pastries. I've also never had fresh madeleines before and knew this would be the place to try them. The Madeleine Glacée were buttery and lightly sweet; these actually go so well with a cup of coffee or just a bite if you need a quick snack. All in all, great try!

These buttery and flaky croissants were our favorite of all we tried throughout Paris during our recent stay and we came several times. There are so many things to choose from!
