When I wear Zara's clothes only ones it breaks it is so bad and the price is too high

When a company has as many bad reviews about their customer service as this location has, you would think they would actually do something to fix it, but they don't. I was never a Zara shopper because it's a fast fashion brand with poor quality clothes. I saw an advertisement of a really unique women's suit though that I wanted to try on and so I went to this store and I had a horrendous experience and won't spend a single penny here. I have no problem if the employees are all immigrants, but when they outright ignore you since you don't speak their language, that's when I have a problem. I was the only Caucasian person in the store and they wouldn't even look at me. There were two store employees talking to each other in a different language and when I walked up to them to ask for some help with looking for something, they took one look at me and then went back to talking to each other. I'm sure that they don't make much money, but if you are in customer service, you are being paid to literally help the customer. It's not okay to just help your friends, family and others who speak your original language. I don't care what their clothes are like, I will never support a store that hires people who act that way. Instead of buying from them, I went to Aritzia and paid double the price for something very similar. At least I know the quality is a LOT better, it won't fall apart after a couple of wears and the employees will actually help EVERYONE who asks for it. Oh and the couple of good reviews I have seen on this store are obviously fake and are from either store employees or their friends/family. Oh and then of course there is the matter of them not posting their actual phone number and instead putting a "1-833" number on their receipt and on the Park Royal website. When you call it it just hangs up on you. I'm guessing there is a reason why they don't post their actual phone number and we all know what that is. I had to call the main Park Royal customer service and they were able to find an actual working number for them. Their customer service was nothing but nice and helpful and I feel bad for them because I'm sure I'm not the only one who has called them to try to get a working number for Zara and I'm sure I won't be the last. read more

Brutal customer service. My daughters selected 2 sweaters and 2 bows for their hair. Immediately after purchasing my eldest daughter noticed that the bow was actually a bow tie. Because the attendant had already removed the tag the manager refused to take back the bowtie in place of a replacement bow. Nice Christmas spirit. Will never be back. read more

I was in the women fitting room at Zara on a weeknight and I was the only customer there. While I was trying on clothes, I heard a male sales associate chatting with the female sales associates as they walked around in the fitting room. Then I heard one of the female sales associates say, "Don't peek" and they laughed together. I was surprised that Zara would allow a male employee to go inside the women fitting room when the women and men fitting rooms are separated. When I talked to the manager, she said Zara had changed its policy earlier this year to allow men inside the women fitting room. I had visited other locations earlier this year and I had not seen a male inside the women fitting room since then. When I asked the manager why would the women and men fitting rooms be separated if both genders are allowed in the same fitting room, she said that I was asking them to renovate the store. I absolutely did not mean that. She said they used to stop men from going inside the women fitting room, and now they had changed the policy and I was asking them to change it back to the old way. I did not know why she would interpret it like that. Meanwhile, she kept interrupting me when I tried to speak which was rude. Then she said she would investigate this matter but maybe the staff were just joking around closing time. First, it was not funny. Second, their behaviour was inappropriate. If Zara really had changed its policy to make the fitting room gender neutral, then they should have doors with lock for the fitting rooms and not use curtains. The fact that Zara did not change the doors of the fitting room means either Zara does not care about customer's privacy, or the manager merely said that ("Zara changed its policy") to defend her employees. I am glad that I had talked to the manager so I know that I should shop at other brands instead. read more

Zara overall is just shockingly badly run. One of many examples: Their own website lists opening hours that are completely incorrect, and their phone system is set up so that no one will answer, and the voicemail directs you to their website for location hours. The cycle of shitty, inept hell goes around and around. Don't bother buying anything here - the clothes are as shoddy and lame as their customer service. read more

Witnessed them refusing a return because they suspected the customer had worn/washed the item they were returning. Never did I ever imagine it would happen to me. Just like the other discontented reviewers here, it is no surprise to anyone why we all continue to shop at this chain. Cheap disposable fashion. So cheap you don't mind throwing it out after a few wear. So this one particular time, my daughter bought a white blouse from the park royal location and she decided she didn't like it enough to keep it. When we tried to return it they accused her of having worn the garment, washed it, and re-tagged it to be returned. Then I asked her how would she know that my daughter had worn it and washed it. The cashier said, she can smell it that it smelled like "chemical". That's right, she said chemical. As though I use chemical to wash my clothes. Then she pointed out the plastic tag is white instead of black. That means we re-tagged the garment. Yes that means I have a tag gun at home. Epic! Where in the world would I get a tag gun to do something like that. Then she goes on to say, the reason she knows we did that is because their plastic tags are black and not white. Well how would I know if the garment my daughter got was not previously returned by someone else. Needless to say, we left in dismay being treated like a criminal, being accused of things we didn't do. We like Zara clothes, but the staff and customer service is just appalling. read more

Out of all the Zara stores I go to this one is by far the worst in terms of customer service. 1. They never acknowledge the customers when in the store. 2. They never apologize for keeping the customers waiting. 3. They accuse us of returning a garment worn & washed. Which is not true? She told us to our face that the garment smells like it has been washed. The top my daughter bought was left in the Zara bag for about a week. I smelled like chemicals, my detergent does not smell like chemicals. I have witnessed on other occasions Zara accusing other customers of returning garments worn and laundered. 4. On several occasions they fail to try to make eye contact with customers that r waiting in line to pay. 5. In more than 2 separate occasions we waited more than 10mins to pay for our merchandise. They should hv more staff at the till & not keep customers waiting. Very unapologetic I will never shop @ Zara again. I much rather shop at J CREW where the merchandise is of better quality & the staff is by far better in terms of service. Two thumbs down. This Zara did it in for me. They will never see another penny from me again. Over the years the quality have gone down and compromise on the style. I was willing to put up with everything before but today's incident is the the straw that broke the camel's back. If they keep up with this kind of accusing and rude attitude treating their customers I reckon they will not last very long at Park Royal. In which case I will be very happy to see them go. i never had a good experience every time I go to this store. staff are careless about customers, they close fitting room 20 mins before closing. staffs they don't look after customers at all. Probably the 2nd most impressive Zara i've been to, after the Singapore one. Just opened last year, located ground level on the South side, right in front of the Bank of Montreal. It's a stand alone store, but so impressive; very elegant, modern, with lots of white walls and floors but overall, the feeling's slick. too sleek as well lol. Same typical pricing but really does offer lots of selection for both sexes. they even a whole rack of men's scarves. Lots of tv's and music all around. Everyone knows Zara isn't known for their amazing customer service. Yes it's pretty bad and sometimes you have to literally walk in circles looking for help and when you do finally see someone they don't have a clue what you're talking about. Haha. But guess what it's still super busy??! And why? Because they have very stylish clothes at affordable prices. The quality isn't always great, but I've purchased quite a few pieces and get compliments on them all the time. I especially love their fall/winter coats. read more

This is my favourite location. It's a huge store and nicely decorated compared to other locations. Selection is good. They have a lot of styles that I have never seen in some of their other stores. The clientele are very different too. They seem way more civilized. I wish this location was closer to my home cause I would come here all the time! read more

Shop online as the customer service at the Robson st location is a bad as it can get I love the children's clothes and I spend a lot of $$$ yearly on grandchildren Today I purchased more clothes as well I had a return small item only$22 with no receipt I just wanted a size up ,tags still on item Only to be told no refund or exchange without receipt.. Seems all that the ladies do here is pretend to look busy and bitch about how hard their jobs are. Also the most snobby people I have ever come across , and to put that to the test, honey, I have been to fucking Paris. To be honest, a retail job is NOT something to whine about how hard it is, nor act like you are above everyone else. One time, I was waiting in like and it took FIFTEEN MINUTES for the dumb ass worker to make a return because he did not know how. After the seemingly endless gong show, the nightmare continued. We live out of town and I recently purchased some items for my toddler son who wasn't with me. We were unable to get back to the store within the exact timeframe of the return policy due to our distance from the store, we were told there is zero flexibility on this even though we were going tonne able to get the item returned a matter of days later. I have witnessed several other instances for other customers while at the store who have had painful times with returns and exchanges. When you commit to selling children's clothing, as a business you should also allow for some flexibility to support young families. read more

The WORST customer service I have ever experienced at Zara! The little arrogant general manager accused me of wearing a lacy little black crop top with the tags attached! Why the hell would I wear and rerun a $45 top. He is so rude and condescending. I would never step in that store again. He needs to learn how to deal with customers in a respectful manner. This Zara is located downtown, in the shopping mecca that is Robson St. This Zara is relatively the same size as the other locations. It's quite organized, compared to the Metrotown location. They always seem to be refreshing their stock with trendier items, it is downtown after all. read more

I am a regular Zara shopper. I usually shop in store, but opted for online b/c they didn't have my size in store. The reason I shop at Zara is for the trendy fashion at reasonable prices. Customer service is not their forte. Today I attempted to return a pair of shoes I'd bought online. It was what I thought was within the return period. I was told that time had expired. It's from the date order is placed, not when item(s) become available to the customer. In essence, online return policy less (in my case 9 days less). I called online customer service who agreed to take back, but after putting me on hold said she couldn't. Very frustrating to say the least. If this weren't a large global chain, don't think they'd survive with their obvious lack of customer service. read more

This store has the worst customer service ever and Zara return policy is the poorest ever. I bought a half boot less than 2 months ago and for the second time that I tried to put it on the zipper fell apart. I took it to store they said no return or exchange w/o receipt. They gave me customer issues tel no. I thought if I call they can find a solution for that but it was waste of time and energy. She said the same thing. Purchased two items here, went to return them, told I was not able to as I was 1...yes ONE day over their 30 day return policy. Both items were in perfect condition, tags still attached, with the original sales receipt, and they would not even allow me to exchange them. I contacted head office several times and they would not budge. The staff in their customer relations department were equally as rude and as their sales associates in their store. I have not shopped there since then and will never EVER shop there again. Too bad, really, as I've been a good customer. Do yourself a favour, shop at stores that value their customers and have a flexible return policy. May I suggest The Bay, Nordstrom or Winners...they are honest and fair. read more

Their clothes are actually nice and I have scored some dress pants from here before for work. Here is the issue, I have to get them altered. Actually I have to get most pants altered 'cause I am short. They lose points 'cause this company with a purchase of $60 or more used to do free alterations and now they have stopped that which is why this is my last minute resort for pants. I have been here with my mom and she always scores something which actually looks nice on her. read more

The absolute worst for customer service. I have yet to have a good experience there. Either they miss an item that I am returning or I am waiting 15 plus minutes for someone to ring me through or waiting 15 plus minutes for someone to check the stock room for a size. Great looking store but the worst customer service. The staff seem too busy gossiping and rearranging clothes to acknowledge customers. The changing rooms are cluttered and the staff are bothered by any intrusion in to their private conversations. If you need another size you have to get it yourself after getting changed and rescanning your bag. read more

Oh my gawsh. Their return policy is so weird. Always takes like, 3 managers and an hour to return something. Quality is poor on a lot of clothing. Plus, this location smells like grease from 5 Guys. Absolutely the worst in customer service. After wandering around with my arms full of clothes to try on, not one of the 6 staff members said hello, asked if I needed help or took the items from me to start a room. In fact 3 of the girls and one guy near the cashier (all doing absolutely nothing) just looked at me, didn't even smile. They all seemed to be amused with each other and chat amongst themselves. When I finally asked if someone could start a room for me ( my arms full of clothes ) it seemed as though I was interrupting their conversation and was told the rooms were full. WOW! Then she finally checked and took me into a room. The girl managing the fitting rooms looked as though she hated being there and when I asked her for another size of a blouse I was trying on she told me to go and get it myself because there was no one available?? There were at least 6 staff on hand - not one of them remotely interested in helping out a customer. Absolutely the worst customer service I've experienced. Shopped at Zara for years always thought the stuff was decent for what you get. Then I had to deal with their customer service recently. Disgusting is an understatement. I received a pair of pants for a Christmas present and when I opened them up there was a strange mark on them. So i took them in for a simple exchange and instead of an exchange I got treated like a criminal. I was told I reattached the tag who after having worn the pants of which I received as a gift the day before. Then the manager told me he wouldn't help me and then walked away, So they in fact sold my mom (the original purchaser) a pair of used pants and then refused to do anything about it. I have sent an email to head office and no response. This is not about the money as I really don't even care about that part I'm just at a loss for words as to how cheated I feel by this company that I have supported for years from when they first opened on Robson st. read more
