My boyfriend doesn't speak Spanish but i do and this girl did not say a single word while checking us out besides saying our total. She then proceeds to hand us the two shoes that were purchased. when my boyfriend asked for a bag she looks him dead in the eye and says i asked if you wanted one and gives a chuckles gives us the bag and those were the last words exchanged. ** and correction I'm talking about the location in la plaza las americas. I know a lot of natives to Puerto Rico are racists to tourists but we're here visiting family and this interaction was the first of its kind very disappointing

Best of all, everything was very affordable. I was curious about the store and did a little research about the company before writing this review. Turns out, everything is designed in-house and produced by a team in Bali. Valija's history and design process are depicted on their website. I'm so pumped we supported this women-owned business and excited to revisit next time I'm in Puerto Rico (or Miami - they have locations there as well!).

We stopped in as we were window shopping and looking for places to eat. Was surprised to see this…read morelittle strip of a block with higher end items. This was a very tiny boutique....quaint. The place was obviously brand new and there were two employees that had somewhat greeted us... Hey no harm done. Perhaps there was a language barrier? ....lol. We were greeted when we arrived but when I wanted to look at a backpack, security made sure to be in my vicinity quickly and watch me. I thought to myself that I knew I wasn't going to spend any money at this location. The layout is the same as other LV stores but again the selection leaves you wanting. This was again disappointing but after speaking with the sales associate she explained there wasn't a demand for products other than canvas products. Overall, you can skip this location because it's basic with little selection. Also if you're visiting then understand that it's possible less expensive to buy back home since the sales tax is 11.5%.
