We made that last day count! After all that, a small group of us decided to hit this infamous spot up for some takeaway as we were in dire need of major grubbage. I ordered a huge burger with bacon, and a side of "chips." I ate the pile of chow back at my room in V building and I must say that it was VERY TASTY! The burger was cooked perfectly and the ingredients were fresh. The chips were hearty but I could do without the mayo dipping sauce. That to me is just gross, but to each his/her own I guess. Service was satisfactory and quick -- I can imagine how undeniably tough it can be working in a hot kitchen serving chow to hungry drunkards in the wee hours of the night. I commend the line cooks for their professionalism, attention to detail, and prompt service. I wonder if the food would taste any different had I come straight-laced and sober. ...til I return Trailer of Life as we shall meet again!

If you're roaming the streets of Cambridge at 2 a.m., you have two options - go back to your dorm…read moreand sacrilegiously barf all over the perfectly trimmed lawn before stumbling into your room and putting yourself to bed, or eat at The Trailer of Life before going back to your dorm to sacrilegiously barf all over the perfectly trimmed lawn, etc. etc. It is what it is. A trailer that serves greasy, salty, fatty, filling foods like cheeseburgers, sausages, and fries when you need them most. There is honestly nothing else open at this time of night, but why would you want there to be? The Trailer of Life does what its namesake promises. It gives drunk zombies enough life to walk themselves home only to wake up in the morning and regret everything they've done the night before. Like Batman, the Trailer shows up out of the darkness when you most need it, and serves justice. By justice, I mean eye-roll inducing cheese fries with vinegar (request the vinegar). Sure, the employees will hit on you in different languages, but maybe if you bat your eyelashes back at them they'll give you some extra cheese or the fattiest burger patty on the grill. The Trailer of Life is also a gathering place for exchange students and locals, who seem to become philosophers between the hours of 1 and 3 a.m. I've had many a conversation with Brits, Indians, Americans, Spaniards, and Germans about racism, relationships, dreams, and the state of US politics while gathered around the warm light of The Trailer of Life. Bringin' people together y'all. I'll admit I would not eat their food in broad daylight where my pride could easily find me. But for a snack in the middle of a drunken night and some memorable rambling conversation, it's absolutely perfect.

The restaurant has a modern style inside. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is of a traditional Indian fayre, with a good choice. I would recommend the Chicken Jalfrezzi. The drinks are typical of what is sold in most Indian restaurants. The price of the food and drinks is reasonable. I would recommend this place for its good, tasty food and modern interior. It is a good choice for a group booking but get in early as the limited space would probably only allow for 1 group.

Acanteen used to be my absolute favourite place to get brunch in the whole world. I always order…read morethe scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on bloomer toast with a side of hollandaise sauce. Their juices were amazing and the chai milkshake like a little cup of heaven. The interior decor was instantly recognisable - a massive wall of text telling a quirky story using local landmarks and food. Unfortunately Acanteen moved early this year to new, larger premises. Now it looks like an Ikea showroom. All the rustic charm of the old shop is lost, it's indescribably dark and the simplicity of shared benches with other strangers is ruined. The menu has been broadened to include a dinner menu and fairly bog-standard choices. The atmosphere is no longer laid back as you can feel the stress of the kitchen through the restaurant. I would always have given this establishment 5 stars. Now, I struggle to give it 1.

They do sandwiches, rolls, wraps, salads etc. They also have jacket potatoes with some very tasty fillings. I can highly recommend their soup also. You can also get the usual tea, coffee and juices as well as shakes and smoothies. They have a good tasty selection for vegetarians especially the wraps which are delicious. The staff are very friendly and helpful and don't get annoyed when you spend ages deciding what to have! The prices may not be the cheapest but I think for the portions and the freshness and variety it is pretty good value. It's nice to treat yourself at lunchtime now and again.

This McDonalds branch has a drive through, and service is reasonably fast both in the drive through and indoors. I feel that the McDonalds menu has improved recently and it's not quite as junky as it used to be. I think it's good that they are becoming slightly more health conscious, and their menu choices seem to be a lot wider now than they were a few years ago. I have always been a fan of McDonalds thick-shakes, and they are the reason I tend to choose McDonalds over Burger King. Their happy meals are great & a huge hit with my boys. They also give out free balloons! One negative I have found with this branch is that the toilets REALLY smelled bad last time I was in there.
