Waiting outside for venue to open

This is the first time I've come back to this location in over 8 years. This bar was previously called the Era Art Bar and Lounge and I used to go there for shows. Now 8-9 years later, I'm back because my friend's band was celebrating their 10th anniversary at this same location where they used to perform! I was curious about how things have changed. So I got together with friends to celebrate the band's 10th anniversary. We all took uber there and the place looks great after all these years. The small stage is now a spacious spot for seating a large group and we sat there. The band played on a small portable stage set up in front of the windows. Drinks are served in plastic cups. We ordered two Lagunita IPA's and two Moscow mules! There is plenty of seating on the second floor and in the back of the venue. The floor was perfect for dancing and watching the samba dancers perform as well! Great place for celebrating the anniversary of our friend's band and for the samba dance group's anniversary as well! I hope that my friend's band will come back here again to perform!

I thoroughly enjoyed the music on both floors. It was lively and I had a great time. This seems like a good spot to go dancing.

Wow, I made it. My train was late, but when I checked Rhonda made up for it…read more I got two tickets. One for the 7:30 show with early seating and for the 9:30pm show. After my last visit with the medical issue In the audience I didn't want to take any chances. Both shows of Kevin Ross are excellent. I didn't make my reservation, but Rhonda gave me table 4 & I sat with three other concert goers. I ordered the chicken teriyaki with broccoli & carrots over rice. Also got my usual of Kyoto Loco. It was satisfying after that long train ride. The house was packed & it was a great vibe. Kevin Ross is not only a singer, songwriter, composer, and producer; he is also a great entertainer. He was all over the stage. He want walked around the audience visiting fans way in the back. He stood on edges & serenaded a few females. One the second show, he grabbed my hand & gave him heart shaped sunglasses. If you seen Kevin Ross perform, then you know he always wears matching heart shaped sunglasses with his fits. I hope someone captured the moment. His Setlist included all his hits. I'm attaching the picture of that

I ordered the Spicy Miso Chicken, Snow Monkey Roll, and a Gelato trio along with getting a bite of the Kobe beef skewers + rib eye. The chicken was pretty salty and felt the sauce was unevenly distributed but it paired well with the mash potatoes. The mash potato's were very creamy and flavorful! By default, the dish itself was just chickens and mash potatoes but I did wish it had some form of veggies as well. I'll probably keep note and just order veggies additionally. The ribeye and skewered were great! Super tender and flavorful. I definitely preferred it over the chicken, haha. The snow roll was good and the tempura in it wasn't overpowering. Gelato was pretty average, didn't stand out to me. I really liked the banana gelato. The jazz club was fun and cozy! Sound was super crisp and clear. Next time I come, I'd love to actively have a dinner AND a show because we ate first before going to Stella Cole.

Enjoyed the Mortified Live event here this past Saturday and was really impressed with the venue…read more The place was spacious enough on two levels, but still had a cozy and intimate environment perfect for this show. And unlike the SF Mortified event I attended last month where most seats were reserved, this one seemed to offer ample seating first come first served, as well as a lovely outdoor courtyard with even more seating. Sound and lighting were ideal. The guest band, Hot and Dangerous, were hilarious and used lots of unconventional instruments along with catchy and comical lyrics, in between journal readings. They did amazing on stage, even though I missed the house band I saw at the previous show. There were bars on both levels, and just a small line at the downstairs bar before the event started. An hour in, there was no line or waiting at all. I tried one of their cocktail specials, the new parish punch, and absolutely loved it, strong and fruity with just a hint of spice, seems like they make good drinks here. Also, we arrived when the doors opened, an hour before showtime, and there was plenty of parking available just a block away.

The people (way way too cool, way too sexy, but I still felt like I fit in somehow?) The vibe (everyone knew the lyrics to the songs, I knew a few, but still) The music (2 rooms, each with their own style, we loved both) The drinks (I went basic here just had rum and coke) I loved how there was an outdoor room so you can dance and look up at the stars. In the main room, there were dancers on stage, exceptional lighting, it was an immersive experience.

After I got there and made my way up to the bar, I noticed that one of the other patrons had a drink menu with prices. So I asked to borrow it thinking that it was his own. It turns out that the bar had exactly 2 drink menus that everyone needed to share. Later, when the other guests ran off to the show (Jason Isbell) I grabbed a copy and took these photos. Outside of the snafu with the drink menu, everything was better than I expected. And everyone that works there is super friendly and welcoming. Keep up the good work TR people...

Expected to feel like we'd paid too much, but actually really enjoyed not waiting in a long line, getting a snack (pizza on this night), grabbing a few drinks and having comfy sofas to lounge on before going to find our seats. We also had access to a roped off area near the large bar just at the back of the general admission floor area, which was raised and where we had a clear view to the stage. We were also treated very well as we went back and forth from the lounge room to our seats, to the viewing area, etc. I'd do it again in a second. The only thing is I wish they'd announce what the snacks were going to be ahead of time. I feel like that could be easy to do and would be in line with their already good service. The concert was being shown in the Telegraph Room, too.
