This is by far the best place to learn Taekwondo in Eastern North Carolina. They have been around…read morefor 25 years now, with good reason. My son and I started taking classes here when the ATA school in Greenville closed. This school was a lot different than ATA, but we couldn't be happier. You will EARN your belt here. At our first school, you went for 30 days, paid them 60 bucks and got your next belt. That is not the case at Byung Lee's. All the instructors (usually 5 or 6 of them in each class) are extremely skilled Taekwondo teachers. They're all really nice too. They genuinely seem to be happy we are there. And they treat my child with the up most respect and understanding. When we started going I had earned my first couple of stripes on my white belt a litter faster than my son. When I earned my last one, my son was very upset that he hadn't earned his yet. When the instructor saw him crying he sat him down and explained why I had earned my stripes and why he hadn't and showed him what he would have to do to earn his. My son now begs to go to class. Master Lee himself doesn't teach many of the lower belt classes, but when he does you can tell you're being taught by a true Master. If you want to learn TKD for sport, self-defense, or just for staying in shape, you really can't do any better than Byung Lee's.

Master Lewis is a great instructor and is very practical when it comes to self defense. Rather than several Mcdojos in the area, he's a hands on instructor and still actively competes. He's has great credentials in the martial arts community and his students go on to win national competitions. I had some prior martial arts experience beforehand and I still learned a lot from him and his senior students. I highly recommend for anyone that's looking for a martial arts school for themselves or their children.

Just the other day, he held the door for perfect strangers thanks to his training in courtesy. Now, not only is he a Black Belt, but he has the confidence and athleticism to go out in the community and try other sports and activities. As for me, it was a place for me to make a goal and achieve it to get my Black Belt and to compete. I have discovered that I have more strength and athletism than I ever even knew I possessed. King Tiger is a place to reach your goals and surpass your full potential. Now, the time has come for our family to leave Goldsboro, and it breaks my heart that it is all coming to an end. No matter where we go or what we do, King Tiger Goldsboro will always be a part of us.
