The woman at the front desk was incredibly rude. The day before my appointment, I called because I wanted to clarify a few things (their quote didn't provide a breakdown of steps....unlike all other places I went to for a quote). The woman at the front desk (I believe her name starts with "M") immediately became very irritated and actually raised her voice, telling me she had already gone over everything with me. I was honestly shocked because I had been polite throughout the entire conversation. I wasn't argumentative or upset, so there was not even a reason to trigger her. Zane had by far the most competitive price. Unfortunately, after that interaction, I no longer felt comfortable doing business there. I ended up taking my vehicle to another shop that had originally quoted me about $450 more. While it cost more, I was treated with courtesy and respect. Because I didn't have the work done at Zane, I can't comment on the quality of their repairs. I can only speak to my customer service experience, which was disappointing enough that I chose to spend significantly more elsewhere. If this is how prospective customers are treated, I imagine I'm probably not the only person who has decided to take their business elsewhere. read more

Just got my car fixed up by them. Came back to my car looking like brand new all around.

Recently I had an incident where someone backed into and damaged my car. The dealership I use did not have a body shop but recommended Zane Auto Collision down the road from them. I'm pretty picky about my cars. Zane did a very good job of fixing the damage to my car. I can't find any flaws or shortcuts taken. They billed the other persons insurance directly so I didn't have to deal with any of that. All I had to do was drop the car off and about two weeks later picked it up - good as new. I really can't think of anything to complain about with Zane and would recommend this shop to others. read more

Highway robbery is what comes to mind. I was forced to pay almost $1k for an estimate I did not approve. My initial estimate came in at $11k and two weeks later I received a second estimate for $24.5k. WTF? How is this possible? I sent the same estimate to two autobody shops and both estimates came back $5k less. If you pay by credit card, you get charged an additional 3%. This place is so hard up for cash they nickel and dime their customers. Needless to say, I towed my car over to a legitimate shop. I asked Toyota dealership for advice for a place to fix my car after it got hit on a parking lot. They recommended Zane Auto Collision. I drop my car, it took a little too long (2 weeks) to fix minor hit to front bumper. When I got the car, no one walked with me to check the result that was strange to me. And I did not check myself carefully too! After driving back home I have noticed little scratch on the fixed bumper. It was on the bottom. I knew I drove carefully and I went back the same route to make sure there were no bumps that I could possibly miss and hit. It bothered me that I have decided to go back. I visited their repairshop in Newark with a small scratch on driver side passenger door of my Crosstrek. The scratch was less than an inch long. Mustafa talked to someone and gave me an estimate of $2065 just to repair/paint that small part. This business is trying to fool people in every way possible. The paint job and repair takes only 2-3 hours maximum when I visited other repair shops and Mustafa gave me 7 hrs of labor charge for the same task. I guess owner is Leslie and I want to express my bad experience at her repair shop. DO NOT VISIT THIS SHOP AT ALL . This is now the fourth time I have came to Zane auto collision to fix one of my cars. I recently bought a BMW SUV and unfortunately a month after purchasing it, I got into an accident which required a lot of repairs to say the least. The team at Zane was quick to except my car and work with my insurance provider to fix my car sooner than later. To be honest, the car looks better than new since everything was replaced with all OEM parts. They are very attentive to details and made sure to match everything else new. I can't even tell the car got into a car accident I am so happy to have brought in my car to them to fix. Ok, So I took off the bumper to further inspect their repair. These guys are so disorganized. I found clips on the outside that belonged on the inside and vice versa. They basically stuck them anywhere they would fit. They did not put anything back where they belong. They DO NOT use OEM parts. A lot of the OEM clips in my trunk have gone missing and have been replaced by cheap flimsy ones that do not match the other ones. They will use whatever fits and call it day. read more

My 2010 Toyota Prius had part of the front bumper falling off and I asked them how much it would cost for just a cosmetic fix (no fixing the frame just nailing or glueing it in place). One of the engineers quoted me $300 or $250 cash. I took the cash option and they not only fixed it in two hours but also buffed the headlights for free! Car looks as good as new! Highly recommend. So through the insurance claim, my car was towed to the dealer and from there sent to Zane.
