Started with the spinach artichoke dip - creamy, cheesy, and lots of artichokes, spinach, and mushrooms! The chips served with it were fresh, crisp, and had the perfect amount of salt! My husband and I shared our two entrees - the chicken fried pork chop and the pork chop marsala. Both were excellent! The pork was tender and juicy with each dish. And the Marsala sauce was one of the best I've tried! We wish we could have tried more items...but it would be well worth the drive to come back for another visit!

Not very many patrons there. I know it gets crowded. The inside is very small, yet they managed to not make it feel cramped. Very intimate, and I loved the decor. Our waitress, again forgot to get her name, was attentive, and provided great service throughout our meal. I can see this place being a GREAT date spot! Let's get to the grub! We started off with appetizers. We had the fried steak calamari and boudin sausage. Let me get the one negative out of the way on the calamari. The portion for the price. It was a bit high. Also, it's not just calamari, it was fried veggies and jalapeños in the mix too. Although it was amazingly delicious, it needed more actual calamari. Also, menu stated it came with aioli. It came with a spicy paste type sauce. We weren't complaining as it paired nice, and think it was a happy mistake. The boudin, which outside of Baton Rouge, I'm not a huge fan of, was spot on! Perfect balance of spice and ingredients! The one thing I will suggest is perhaps not serving it with rice, since there is already rice in the boudin. Maybe a nice sauce or a roux? Either way it was good! The offspring, I love they are adventurous, had the blackened fish, and seafood jambalaya. Let's start with that blackened fish. Not over-salted!!!! Wow was that a relief! The sauce paired perfectly with the fish! The sautéed spinach was ok. Lacked more seasoning. The jambalaya was also pretty good! They didn't skimp on any of the ingredients. Very much appreciated! Nothing was overcooked, and it was seasoned to perfection! All the meals came with a roll, which I think was yeast. The problem with those is when they get stale, they almost taste a bit like beer. They tasted like beer. I had the Mardi Gras pasta. I was scared it would be too rich or oily. It was neither. Again a very well balanced dish! It's not cheap, but not outrageously priced. With the exception of the calamari, the portions and quality of the meal were worth the price. Whoever is in the back cares about the food. I could've been in Louisiana how good it was. The menu isn't just Cajun. They have a great variety. We did order desert. Just cheesecake, but I can almost bet they didn't make it in house. They did get creative with the plating though! Also kudos for having stevia at table! Highly recommend and def coming back on a date night!

Have not had a run in with the owner but if I do, I will update as to my experience. I have to be honest. I haven't visited the restrooms yet, but will also comment on that if I ever feel the need to make a pee pee while here. Breakfast is better than lunch/dinner here. Just my opinion. They have VERY good menudo. The tortillas are a bit thick, but taste good. They do not have free refills on sodas, but they do have a wide selection of drinks. They ask you when you pay if you'd like to leave a tip and actually add it themselves. Just draw a line thru the tip space or place a zero there on the receipt and no worries. I just think this place is good. Will be coming back frequently.

My friend ordered the egg and pancake breakfast and I had the cheese enchilada plate with corn tortillas. The enchiladas were okay but nothing special. The plate also comes with beans and rice. They may have been running low on refried beans because I got a very small serving of them. The Spanish rice was horrible, very watery with no seasoning. The highlight of my lunch was the corn tortillas. They were homemade and delicious. I'm not going to say that I will never return here because this is where my friend likes to eat. I will say if I come back I'll order a couple of corn tortillas with some butter, now there's a lunch.

Birthdays, random cravings, "we survived the week" dinners & you name it, we've probably celebrated it here. The vibe is casual, fun, and laid-back, which is exactly what you want when you're about to put on a bib and commit to a seafood boil. And yes, that is exactly what you should do here because the boils never miss. The seafood is always fresh, the sauces are flavorful, and the spice levels are not playing around. My recommendation? Stick with level 2 unless you enjoy sweating through your meal and reevaluating your life choices. My go-to combo is mussels, shrimp, crab legs, potatoes, boiled egg, and veggies. And before anybody gets suspicious about the veggies in a seafood boil, hear me out, they absolutely belong there. They soak up all that buttery, spicy sauce and add something extra to the whole experience. Don't skip them. Also, get the flights. They're fun, they're good, and they make an already good time even better. Smashin Crab is one of those places we keep coming back to because it's reliable in the best way: good seafood, great flavor, and the kind of meal that feels like an event every time.

Jenn was our server, and she was amazing very attentive, informative, and provided great service throughout our visit. The ambiance was a fun, lively vibe with music playing, and the restaurant was clean. The happy hour menu had a great selection, with everything from shrimp boils to cocktails. We started with the 1/2 dozen chargrilled oysters ($19.12) and the Smash'd Margarita Flight ($11 during happy hour). Chargrilled Oysters: 8.5/10 The oysters were cooked in garlic butter and Parmesan and served with crispy toast. The toast was definitely a highlight for me it added such a good texture and paired really well with the oysters. I would absolutely order these again! Smash'd Margarita Flight: (9/10) This was a fun way to get a taste of the different margaritas they offer. The prickly pear was my favorite of the flight! Shrimp Boil: (10/10) For our main meal, we ordered the shrimp boil from the happy hour menu and added a few extras. I loved how customizable the boils were. They have a great variety of add-ons, from broccoli to ramen noodles, and you can also choose your seasoning and spice level. Overall, we had a great experience. Good food, a fun atmosphere, plenty of options, and great service from Jenn. We'll definitely be back and those chargrilled oysters will be making another appearance at the table!
