Dr. Chen is my electrophysiologist, a Wash U physician at Barnes' Center for Advanced Medicine. I…read morepreviously had Drs. Bruce Lindsay and Jonas Cooper, but Linsday left to head the cardiology dept. @ Cleveland Clinic (#1 in the country for cardiology, per US News and World Report...no big) and Cooper left to move back to his hometown for family reasons. Boo! They were both fantastic (and I had a slight crush on Dr. Cooper...sshh don't tell)! So after my heart started acting up again (status post two cardiac ablations) I looked for another doctor in the same practice. Dr. Chen was who was available, and she did not disappoint. She was quick and efficient, but thorough, listened to my concerns, and I felt like she really was listening to me, and not just going through the motions. I got out of that appt with exactly what I wanted, which was a short acting beta-blocker to take during SVT flare-ups. I thought my only options were meds for the rest of my life or a third surgery, neither of which I was interested in. I am impressed with this because surgeons are typically quick to jump to doing surgery (coughcoughMONEYcough...not that Lindsay and Cooper were like that, I wanted the surgeries) but Dr. Chen looked at me as an individual and knew that surgery risks outweighed the benefits for me - she explained how I was particularly risky and almost ended up with a pacemaker during my last surgery - eep! I did not know this. She knows her stuff. Smart, professional, efficient, good bedside manner. Check, check, check and check mate. Front desk staff was friendly (they were actually booked out for two months - !!! - but they worked to fit me in earlier, which was nice) and the medical assistant was chatty and sweet. Good customer service. Hit a slight snag when, even though I wrote down my pharmacy's name, I got a call later saying they don't know who my pharmacy is to be able to call in my script...uhhh? But hey...minor infarction. A+ will go again...actually, I hope I don't have to.

I read other reviews posted online regarding Dr. Lambrechts prior to selecting him for consultation/opinion. He overwhelmingly received 5 Star Ratings in other reviews. I found those reviews to be consistent with my interaction with him during my visit. Dr. Lambrechts discussed future procedures and tests with me; and provided an overall explanation of the health of my spine. Moreover, I found him to be an excellent listener/doer and cared about his patients. Dr. Lambrechts is a role model to others in the medical field. I was at my wits end regarding serious concerns/issues still lingering for nearly two years ago. He provided me with hope and a positive outlook on my physical and mental health, and a sense of calm. He is truly a jewel. I would recommend him to others seeking not just an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon but one you would respect for going above and beyond in administering care. Kudos, Dr. Lambrechts, MD!!! Kimberly B.

He threw his pen on the counter, whirled around and asked why I stopped seeing the other doctor. I started telling him about some things that had happened that really upset me. He kept interrupting me to defend the other doctor, and was argumentative to the point I couldn't even tell him what happened. He invalidated my feelings, invalidated me as a patient and invalidated me as a person. During the rest of the appt he made unnecessary rude remarks. That was one of the worst Dr appts I've ever had. I will never return. I don't recommend anyone see him. He's the sort of Dr you should avoid

I am probably the exception to his patients in being relatively proactive when it comes to my healthcare and he is usually willing to place orders for whatever bloodwork and screening tests that I request when I see him to stay on top of my health. I had to push to get a CAC scan in 2019 which revealed much more coronary artery calcium than either of us would have guessed based on my other risk factors. However the medical establishment (AHA) only recognized the value of it as a tool for coronary vascular disease risk assessment within a year of my requesting the test so I certainly don't blame him for not recommending it sooner.
