After asking for recommendations on FB for a water heater replacement, this guy direct messaged me…read more I gave him a chance since he new some of the people I did. He seemed to do a good job when he did show up. It was an emergency and I had over half of the job's money. He said he'd wait 10 days to cash the final $1000 so I post-dated the check for payday. Then, 2 days prior to deposit over a weekend, he and his wife call and text my phone on a Saturday night; accusing me of stealing and "screwing" them as they tried to deposit my check 3 days prior to the post-date. OMG. I tried to tell them to discuss with their bank as they may be holding it and to just wait and see. I told them it's up to the bank on when to deposit post-dated checks and I have nothing to do about that. But they both wouldn't stop. Later that night, he called and admitted he was drinking and started yelling and slurring his speech; called me a thief and made judgements about me as I moved here and am a single mother. OMG. I could hear his wife yelling, "hang up the phone". Then she texted me later claiming she had his phone and continued to call me a thief. I felt very creeped out. I will now will have to see if his bank deposits the check on the next business day or if I have to write a new one. These people DO NOT know how to run a business. They bragged about only taking checks and say they charge more for credit cards; yet they don't advertise anywhere what surcharge they are doing. I should've looked for BBB owners or called more people than to answer some messenger note from a stranger on FB. Lesson learned. He installed a new unit... sober (I think) ... yet I'm sure I was over charged and later harassed and accused of being a thief. Who's the thief here? Keep looking. I'd rather pay top dollar for a guy with a store front than to take my chances with these two dysfunctional nutcases. I'm sure I'll never get an apology after their bank deposits my check next business day. I'm sorry, but a good install wasn't worth harassment and smearing my character just because the owner got drunk and can't run a business properly. Too risky. Now I wonder if I should have the install inspected by someone else. Ugh. - I just found him all over public records pa docket sheets. I shouldn't be surprised. I'm all for people cleaning up their act... but his harassment docket sheets go back decades. Don't hire this guy. I seriously am worried about safety. :(

He answered right away and came right out to our home within 30 minutes to help get the pipe repaired so we could have heat. His pricing was incredibly reasonable compared to the other estimate we had received. I cannot recommend him enough. Thank you very much for helping our family right before the holidays!

Paid to place flashing between house and chimney, instead used spray foam filler. Chimney is white, house is blue, foam is brown. Looks awful. Owner is aware we are not satisfied with this, asked to paint the chimney same color as the house to hide the foam. After multiple calls with multiple unfulfilled promises to show up the owner told my husband that we did not pay him to have the chimney Painted and if he had to choose between a large profit job and fixing what he did at our house he would take the large job. No, he was not paid to paint the chimney as we considered it fixing a messed up job. Shutters fell off the house multiple times after being rehung. Not only did they do a good job installing my A/C units, but they fixed some rotted pipes on my boiler. Surprising to me they arrived when they said that they would on the day that they said they would. Unlike some contractors that I have used in the past. The installer answered every question that I asked politely, and completely. The worker (Tyler) also gave me the instruction booklets for all the equipment, and marked down the size of the air filters that I would need in the future. I absolutely recommend Scranton Electric.
