Beatriz bakery is recommended by many well known travel books. So while we were in Pamplona, we had…read moreto check it out. We were in line behind some ladies who were buying several boxes of the chocolate croissants. Unlike the croissants in France, these croissants are only about two inches square. Also the ones in France, these are stuffed with chocolate. So much so that they ooze out when you bite into it. The service is friendly and they speak English. It is nice to use Spanish ordering, but if you struggle they step in to help. The little croissants also come stuffed with an apple filling and a pumpkin filling. Both are fine, but we liked the chocolate best. We wished we were able to eat more as there were so many delicious looking pastries all over the store. I can't recall how much we paid for the pastries, but I am sure they were very reasonable and definitely worth the calories to try out. And despite my concern that the ladies in front of me were going to buy out the supply of chocolate croissants, my fears dissipated when new trays were brought out from the kitchen.

It's ridiculous that this place is not so popular that people don't travel to Pamplona just to…read moreexperience this confection. For the people that will not read my entire review I want to be sure they know the temple that exists here. Close your eyes and think of the most perfect croissant you can Imagine. Crispy edges with a fluffy but still chewy center now cram that full of a hazelnut chocolate spread (basically the best Nutella ever) And make it bite size served warm! That's what going down here! What I described above are called garraticos, its a fairly hard word to pronounce if you don't speak any Spanish, luckily you can point and droll, the friendly staff will do their best to decipher your needs. Don't be shy to express all your simply carb needs as the staff is all too eager to accommodate even in the mists of extremely long lines. I found this bakery as I do many of my travel treasures, walking around until I see a commotion, get involved, and eat what ever caused the frenzy. After speaking to a few people in front of me I knew what I needed, if you have read to this point you know where this is going. When my turn came, the line moves fast, I ordered 6 garraticos and went into some type of trance that pointed and ordered with zero concern of caloric ramifications. At the end I can't be sure of what all I ordered but it was magnificent! I came back 3 times before leaving Pamplona. Get on line and get ready to have your life changed !

Such a wonderful chocolate shop to visit if you are in San Sebastian for the day!…read more I will be the first to say that I am not the biggest chocolate fan, yes bring out the pitchforks to hunt me down. With that said though, I do enjoy various types of homemade style chocolate and that is really what Casa Aramendia brings to the table. Located within the tight alleyways of old town San Sebastian, most may pass it by, but do yourself a favor and bookmark this if you are a chocolate fan as it is worthwhile. The staff is very friendly, speak good English, and more than willing to help you choose some delectable chocolate. While browsing around I'd suggest watching the back room where they are making the chocolate you are eating at the moment or in the process of buying. Like most chocolate stores, they are willing to let you nibble on a few samples to help you decide which bunch you will be devouring. One downside, which is a bad word to use in this case, is the chocolate is not cheap, but trust me it is worth it as the flavors are intense and insanely tasty!

What a delightful chocolate shop. Perfect place to grab a tasty souvenir of San Sebastian (you…read moreknow, one that will pair well with the local cider, txakoli, or Rioja you've already packed into your bag). We stopped in to purchase the ever popular chocolate iphone. All of the delights of the regular iphone, but with no bugs or new operating systems to make you mad. Super convenient location in old town by all the pinxto bars!
