I made an appointment with Kim. She was very pleasant and I don't have any problems with her conversational skills. But when it comes to her highlighting skills. Beware. When I left the salon my hair was fine but when I washed it after 72 hours after highlighting my hair literally fell off. A bunch of it came out burned. Month update (AVOID JASMINE AT ALL COST) 08/13/19 Up to this point, there's only two solutions, re-dye my hair or curl my hair every single day. Definitely a learning experience. What I got out of this is, do your research on the stylist you plan on visiting. Yes many regrets I didn't spend less and go to a reliable hair stylist. Definitely my last and final update to not remind myself of this. I definitely will be heading to a salon to fix this because this is a literal EMBARRASSMENT. Until then, enjoy these embarrassing pictures of JASMINES work. Truly learned a lesson here and it's to NEVER, EVER RECOMMEND anyone to go to Jasmine. To Kim : This is not bullying. I promoted her on social media for the "great work" she did and now of course it wasn't so great and mind this being just 10 hours later. It's just simply to warn others to not fall into a trap I fell through. A scam if you may get technical. Yes, she is a kind person but her work needs SO MUCH improvement as she demonstrated her LAZINESS through her work. She "blended" the first top layer and no other layer. That is no exception as it is $300. In addition to that, my hair is ORANGE TONED.. Yes it takes more than 1 session but as far as i've seen, people with black VIRGIN hair has gotten dyes were provided with professional techniques and great products to stay on their hair which last for more than 10 hours with the vivid colors. I've been coming to Z Salon for a few years now and it's consistently the best whether it be for hair color or hair cuts. Nothing ever compares to how my hair ends up post appointment here! It's also one of the few salons I don't have to specifically ask for someone because everyone here is talented. Kim and Uriah were the first ones to give me a balayage years ago now and I kept coming back. Later I did a blend purple/blue and a pink/purple ombre with Maxine. Kayla then did a rose gold balayage and helped strip out the leftover pink color in my hair leftover from the many purples I had gone through haha. This most recent trip Thanya toned the leftover balayage post rose gold. I came in really unhappy with the state of it and Thanya talked me through what I wanted and ended up going with a cooler tone up and it turned out to be perfect! Anyways this was a long overdue review and I will forever recommend Z Salon to anyone and everyone who asks me about my hair LOL. Thanks Kim and the whole crew to always helping me and everyone to look and feel their best! P.S. Even the MUA's for 4 different weddings I've been in have asked me who does my hair and they all are always amazed by it. After trying to resolve the issue and not bringing forward all my issues in my previous review, I have decided to update my review with more information. My first complaint is the root melt that is just not even there. The first picture I provided (blue shirt) is from the very night I got my hair done. I did not wash my hair or anything and it had harsh lines of demarcation. I was not able to see the top of my head until later, how was I allowed to walk out of the salon like that? This is additional evidence that she must've been rushing for something and did not complete my hair. I contacted Jasmine the night of my appointment and received no reply. Only after I had posted my initial review did she finally reply to me a week later. This is despite the fact I knew she was being active on her instagram through out the time she did not respond to me. I feel that I was blatantly ignored because I had issues with her work and so she did not want to fix it. Within the 7 days it took for Jasmine to respond to my initial complaint, I discovered more issues. My sister and friends began to mention that the back of my head seemed incomplete and not blended to the rest of my babylights. Not only that, but within one wash, the toner had completely faded and I was left with yellow hair. I provided the shade of my hair from after my appointment and if you compare it to the picture of the second rootmelt picture, my hair is extremely yellow. I had to tone my hair again only one week after my hair appointment. A toner is usually redone after 6-8 weeks.. and I had to do it within 1 week after just 2 washes. When Jasmine responded, I asked for compensation and was told, "Hello, my apologies since I was busy prior. I can compensate for what a rootmelt would be which would be $50 since that seems to be the only issue." With the rootmelt now not being the only issue after she took a week to respond, I began to explain the rest of my complaints. Again, I was ignored. I message again a week later. One of the things she said was "how from the start you mentioned that it was only the rootmelt that was the issue, which I couldn't get to you sooner to get you in and get it fixed. After a day or two from that, you mentioned there was more issues abruptly." As explained before, I found these issues within the week that it took Jasmine to finally respond to my first text. I had initially liked my hair when I looked at the front. But as I started to put my camera up and then look at the back again with a mirror, I began to find issues. Instead of just updating my review and texting again to a person that I already felt was ignoring me, I decided to wait instead for a response. I was ignored for just complaining about my rootmelt, how was I going to mention my other complaints? Am I not allowed to find more issues? I can not easily see behind my head just like how I cannot easily see the top of my head. Also, Jasmine's text says the rootmelt "seems to be the only issue". I clarify that it's not the only issue and then it's an issue that I am bringing up the other issues?? Jasmine offered to refund me to $50 for only the rootmelt. But with my other issues, I felt this was extremely unfair. Not only that, but one of her reasonings to refund me less is her claim of a double tone. I am pretty sure she did not double tone me and when I again tried to text to clarify the double tone, I was just ignored. I had to add more foils after my initial foils, and I think Jasmine believes (or wants me to believe) that she toned me, I wanted to add more foils, and then she had to tone me again. However, I know for a fact that I had requested more foils right after Jasmine had taken the initial foils and that I was only toned once. I told her to clarify without any accusing tone to just understand her point of view and understand where the double tone came from since she is using the no charge of the second tone ($100) as part of her reasoning to only refund me $50. I basically had no rootmelt or toner which is from her breakdown $150. I should get at least $150 refunded but instead because I was "double-toned" I should get only $50 back. I have again been ignored and so after a month of trying to work things out, I would like to just update my review since I have given up. Jasmine will ignore you instead of trying to understand your perspective. Her lack of response is very unprofessional and I would not recommend her. She is dismissive and will just ignore any complaint you have. read more

Well, I did it. I finally cut my forever long hair! I had done some research from a few places in the area and had finally gotten to the point where I just needed my freaking hair cut - it was bugging me. The reason I chose this location over another one in the area was that, when I called I spoke with someone who was very nice! They were excited for me that I was taking the plunge to cut my long hair. It was just the little bit on excitement I needed. I was able to make an apt for that day which was so great! I was paired with Ana Cortez and I could not have been happier. She was super sweet and was very honest with me the entire time. She asked me to show her pictures of the hair cut I wanted, and she delivered (she also does amazing scalp massages, too!). I am so proud of my new hair! Ana also does hair coloring too, so I plan on coming back to her to do my highlights. THIS IS MY HONEST EXPERIENCE with Z salon. Read the reviews first!! And go somewhere else!!! I became a client of Thanya Galindo in May of 2022 and due to recent events I've decided to cut ties. On May 27th I had an appointment for Balayage coloring and a haircut which looked decent styled but I did not see beneath the first layer of hair or the back of my head. Over the next three days others and I began to notice brassy or yellow areas that were not colored correctly and scattered splotches of ash throughout my hair. SHE DID NOT NOTIFY me that she added Ash to my hair until she had began styling my hair 10 mins before I was leaving. I did not approve of Ash in my hair. My haircut was also uneven and blended incorrectly. I messaged her May 30th and asked to make an appointment after her vacation, which was May 31st - June 13th and she asked me to come in the same day (5/30/23) which I couldn't. She stopped replying after that. I waited for her return and messaged on June 13th and we agreed on a 8AM appointment on June 15th, which resulted in her canceling 35 Mins before. She asked me to come in June 16th, the day of my event( I told her about my event during my 5/27 appointment and when she tried to reschedule for 6/15) , which I didn't have time for. Due to my hair disaster I had to wear a hat to my event. I then messaged her June 17th asking for a partial refund of $200. I paid $350 for the Balayage and $50 for the haircut. I tipped $50 for her time and efforts. On the day of my cancellation I went to a different salon for a consultation which I was told by multiple stylist that my hair was damaged, uneven, and I had Radom spots of Ash in my hair. I booked an appointment at the other salon and was forced to pay $330 to fix my hair which resulted in loss of 3-5 inches of length. I have attached photos below and a video of Thanya's and I conversation. Throughout the conversation I wondered what she thinks of her customers and realized she didn't seem to want to do my hair. She claimed I " waisted" her time. After bringing up her errors I'm now wasting her time.. The video and photos also depict her lateness and disrespect of others time, unprofessionalism, and her contradictions. I do not recommend this salon. It saddens me I put up with with this salons' low standards. Due to our disagreement on the refund price I let her know I would file a lawsuit which she replied "if any legal fees need to be paid afterwards I will gladly pay them" and " if you would like to take any other legal action feel free to do so". As a response I sent her a Small Claims Demand letter July 5th allowing her 1 week to reply and pay my partial refund or I would begin the legal process. Her replies seem contradict themselves and waste my time. All is shown in the recording of our convo. After a week she paid the refund amount of $200. Which she claimed "I needed it more". I came here to get a haircut for my birthday, but it didn't go as planned. Maybe I was having a bad hair day (ha!) or the stylist was. I'm not going to name her as I don't want to ruin her business, but I don't think she had a lot of experience with thick hair. After the wash, my hair felt very frizzy. Not sure if it's the shampoo or the blow dry. I asked for layers, but it was very choppy. My husband said that it looks like rat ate your hair lol.
