Most recently, I had my six-month cleaning this past week, and I had a less than five minute wait even with showing up a little early. I liked that they questioned me about my COVID history (any symptoms, any contact with COVID positive people) and also took my temperature. It makes me feel safe to know that they are doing that for all of their patients. My dental hygienist, Brent, was amazing! He was extremely nice and funny, and was very easy to talk to. He explained every single thing he was doing, which I really appreciate as a patient. He was also gentle while cleaning my teeth which is for sure a plus. It was also nice that he complimented how clean my teeth already were, LOL :) Dr. Redhead was also very kind and easy to talk to, and made sure to ask if there were any dental issues I wanted her to look at. Being new to the area, I spent a lot of time researching practices that met my needs and budget. More importantly somewhere with a kind and transparent staff. Tiger Smile checked all the boxes. I told them about my anxiety and they were very accommodating. They're handling COVID-19 very well and have an effective system in place so there's no interaction with other patients. Everyone on staff- receptionists, hygienists, assistants, dentist- make you feel welcomed and comfortable. They made sure I understood my procedure and paperwork, and of course answered any questions I had. I'm not sure if this is helpful for anyone, but they do seem to have an all female staff (besides the other dentist, who I have never seen). Personally, although I'm not sure why, this helped me feel even more comfortable. Lastly, they offer an annual membership package that helps with the cost. In my research, I noticed at least half of the places I looked didn't have anything like this or even some sort of new patient discount. Tiger Smile isn't the only great option in Baton Rouge area, but it's top tier. And it was the best option for me, so I'm thankful! And my teeth and gums feel great!

Apparently one of my fillings had fallen out, and since I have sensitive teeth, the nerve pain was what was causing the toothache. Super communicative, she brought up and explained things in a way I could understand. I'd been told previously I was a night grinder, but with her 20+ years as a hygienist experience, she took the time to actually SHOW me the wear spots, explained that the little divits in 2-4 molars should look like mountain peaks! I saw & understood for the first time. I trusted her when she said she doesn't think it was due to the misaligned bite I now have from a bad dental experience I had in 2017-18. I won't go into that but it was my first bad dental experience, although I'd once before had a dentist I trusted who moved and sold his patient contact list, and the next dentist was super aggressive so I didn't go back, my radar said wait why is this all of a sudden when I've been being taken care of by someone who didn't see those issues. Suffice it to say I still have all my teeth and never a root canal or cap, not prior nor since. Back to Julie, she was kind, personable and informative.. she actually scaled my teeth rather than only using a power washing device which never felt smooth like after the old fashioned scaling by feel, by hand!
