My tablecloth was super damp and when my husband accidentally poured the wine over the glass, it got worse. Instead of really helping us out, the waitress only put a small piece of fabric over to absorb it and left!!! We had to insist to change table, which she got annoyed with. Plus, she didn't set up the other table correctly. We had to flag down the runner for assistance. Onto the food. So we got the omakase for 2 - 110$. DON'T DO IT! Thinking it was going to be super diverse, it wasn't. Service 1: miso soup with 1 tiny piece of tiny scallop, 1 tiny piece of salmon and a decent sized shrimp. It was bland. Service 2: octopus salad. It was ok. Service 3: SALMON tartar on some fried leaf. I can't say if it was perilla because I didn't taste it. Service 4: torched SALMON tataki style. It was bleh. The waitress said that it would be a variety of sashimi. Well I guess she didn't get the memo! Service 5: SALMON kamikaze with tuna on top. It was ok. Service 6: Shrimp tempura roll with SALMON. No fresh wasabi anywhere like they so proudly display on their Instagram. *And notice how it's all salmon??? We were better off eating a few doors down at Boustan. The mix platter would of been way better!!! It was a complete disaster. It was a shit show. Would I go back? NOPE. Do I recommend this place? OH GOD NO. What a waste of money.

When we got there, the area appeared to be closed off due to construction, which was confusing since I had a confirmed reservation. We attempted to navigate around the construction zone, and in the process, my 75-year-old father slipped and fell. Two young staff members came out and informed us that the only area open was the terrace -- but the terrace was literally in the middle of the construction zone. I mentioned we had a reservation, and one of them said, "Yes, the terrace is open." Really? It didn't feel safe or accessible at all. I told her the website didn't mention anything about the restaurant being under construction. She responded, "That's exactly what it says." I checked again -- it doesn't. It only states that reservations are for the terrace. There's no warning or mention of active construction or safety concerns. That's misleading and honestly feels like false advertising. No apology. No concern. Nothing. We left immediately and took my injured father and family to a different restaurant with far better hospitality. Yakimono, you failed today -- on communication, safety, and basic decency.

The decor and most of the staff and menu items have remained the same, though prices have increased (obviously) and there is no longer sashimi for lunch sadly. The food is pretty much on par with other ayce sushi places, though their presentation can be a bit nicer. I particularly like their eggplant sushi pizza, which is essentially a tempura eggplant with avocado and spicy salmon on top , with a flourish of microgreens for glamour. They have a few things that other places don't, such a hot and sour soup. Service is pretty good and the speed at which dishes come is pretty rapid. The ordering is now done all online, with your phone after scanning a QR code. The dining room is also quite spacious and they can accommodate small children if needed, and parking is ample. Overall a good experience but I think I'll stick to the places that do sashimi for lunch for a similar price.

I often get the mini kami, the spicy salmon and the una-kyu, but they have many other delicious rolls. The prices and also very reasonable. What took a little while to get used to is that they are very very slow, both in preparing the sushi and in delivering it. This is because the owners are the ones doing everything and I don't think they employ other people. Although this might be a deal breaker for some people, I love this place so much that these days, I just order a few hours in advance and go pick it up myself so that I won't have to wait a long time. I highly recommend it.

In addition to poke and chirashi bowls, they also serve sushi and a selection of appetizers (tempura, fried chicken, etc). Not only was it a good size (not just 3-4 pieces), but the vegetables were thinly sliced and the batter was light. The sunshine roll was just ok, but the quality of the seafood in both the maki and the bowl was impressive - really fresh.
