Dango and a cortado
Ashley K.

Expect a wait but they really make some very delicious treats. I only ordered from the cafe side today because I needed some coffee. Next time I'll prioritize a fun beverage but this time just a cortado, which was perfect. The roast isn't too dark and they pulled a great shot of espresso. Grabbed a chocolate sesame cookie, black sesame scone (little sweet for me) and a banana cake, and some dango. The dango was perfect, great salty sweet combo. Banana cake was unique enough to not just be fancy banana bread. Excited to try the market side next time too. They have more items there and grab n go. Some vegetarian options but mostly meat fyi And they do have bike parking! The parking lot is a little bit of a nightmare with all the hype though. Be slow and careful

Although the food was good, some items is quite overpriced in my opinion. The quality isn't so amazing to justify. I wouldn't go out of my way to stop by again but if I happened to be close by, I may come grab something. Earl gray matcha latte ($8+$1.50 extra matcha) : 3/5 I don't like the cream tops much but I was intrigued by the combo so I asked for less cream top and added matcha since I like it very strong. However, my combo probably made it too weak on the Earl gray flavor Black sesame scone ($6) : 3/5 nice combo and wasn't too sweet. Had a very strong sesame but was on the dry side Banana loaf with Kinako streusel (6$) : 5/5 my favorite item because I like kinako a lot and it's rare to see it combined with banana loaf Ham dashi omelette sando ($18) : 4/5 flavor wise was very good but it was very tiny and a bit mushy and messy. Because the egg and mushrooms were more on the dense and wet side, the bread started getting flat+mushy and texture wise wasn't that enjoyable. Crab mentaiko onigiri ($8): 4/5 good flavor with a decent amount of crab Banana cream with pecan sando ($11): 5/5 really nice light cream with carmelized pecans all over. I was surprised at how well it held up the next day too. Still quite rich of a desert so best to split with others

Cute little Japanese Cafe . This was Sunday afternoon line and the line at the front door was SO LONG . The staff told us to enter by the back door and grasp to go bento boxes or sandwiches. They have another cash register to let the customers pay ( two different lines ) . The sashimi was very fresh and we have one beef bento box , two different Chirashi bento boxes . Inside they also sell other home goods. Things are very useful with good designs. Parking is a challenge there . It has its own private parking as well as street parking . Love the ambiance and great atmosphere.

Welcome to the neighborhood. Yutori is a love note to Japan. From their Japan-inspired drinks, unique and freshly made pastries, and various items available in their market. Yutori has something for everyone. I ordered the earl grey matcha latte and several pastries (strudel, matcha financier, sesame scone, cookie). The matcha was well-balanced and not too sweet. The pastries were fresh out of the oven. The strudel and scones were soft, while the financier and cookie had a lovely chewy texture. I've only come in the mornings so I haven't tried the Sandos or other market foods, but I look forward to it! There is limited space inside, but they have spacious outdoor seating. There's a steady flow of folks from opening time so get there early if you want to avoid crowds.

Just got back after eating here for brunch. Heard lots of great things about the cafe, so decided to wait in the line - which took about an hour to reach the counter for drinks. Ordered their hojicha with black sesame foam, super delicious ($8). The deli/market is separate line, so picked up an egg sando, banana cream sando, tuna and salmon onigiri. The ambiance is quaint and simple, very Japanese vibes. The cafe is super busy as you'd imagine, with the line just growing and growing the longer we were there. My small complaint is price - the Sandos were about $12-13, specialty coffee $8, so in all we spent about $60+ dollars on our brunch. Great experience to try once although not sure if I'll come back, and if I do may try on a weekday when the line hopefully isn't this long!

We came an hour before closing on a Saturday and were shocked how crazy the line was! There is a separate entrance with no line if you are looking to peruse the little market they have. The long line was for the cafe/drinks. We got the Yutori Tonic and Hojicha Goma Latte. The sesame and overall hojicha flavor was pretty light and was just ok. I've had better versions elsewhere. The Yutori Tonic was really refreshing though and I really liked it. We also got the choc chip cookie (coated in sesame seeds) and their mini banana bread loaf. Both were decent/standard. Not sure if the drinks were worth the long wait in line though. But I would come back to try other things, maybe in the middle of the week during off times though. Debating if I wanna try their takeout food/bentos, they were sold out by the time we got there but it seemed a little pricey, def inline withthe area though. But you can probably get cheaper ones just as good at Fugetsu or Osaka. They have a nice aesthetic and outdoor seating areas as well. Overall a nice place to come relax or hang out for a bit if you dont mind the wait!

kuro latte, kyoto latte, earl gray matcha

A new coffee shop that opened up in Palo Alto that had a very long line. We waited for around 45 minutes to get to the register to order, but waiting for our drinks to get made was only like 10 minutes. We ordered the earl gray matcha with oat, kuro latte and kyoto latte. They are all very good, the coffee did not taste burnt and it was super smooth. I was scared for the matcha as some reviews said it basically tasted like milk, but there a is a light matcha flavor. Not strong but still there. My favorite thing is that milk alternatives do not cost extra! They also have a deli/market, where there is prepackaged hot and cold foods, snacks, and merchandise to purchase. They have a lot of outdoor seating with a couple seats indoor.I would come back, maybe in a few months when the line and hype dies down.

beautiful little cafe with japanese specialty items and food! it would be a great place to hang out for a while with friends or even do some work because there is so much seating outdoors. though the line is long i was served quickly! very efficient! i wish that the second cash register was used just for the retail/ food side so you don't have to wait in the long wrapping line. if you want a subtlety different coffee flavor i say try the kuro and sweet miso. it won't be in your face flavors but more of a sincere afterthought. i will probably be back just to try other flavors. guava danish tastes like it should. nothing special. the neri goma chocolate chip cookie, black sesame scone are OMG delicious! i will definitely come back just for these treats!! my family loves them so much i wish we could just buy a boxful!

They're still in their soft opening so there's still a ~30 minute line around 8.30am. The interior is nicely decorated with plenty of seating outdoors and a handful indoor. There's two lines, one for the cafe and one for the deli. Barely any vegetarian options-- fruit sandos, cucumber egg sando, and a mushroom salad bento. But surprisingly no onigiri that was veg-friendly, even in the morning. We ordered their sweet miso latte w/ oat milk (no charge for alternative milks!) and regular matcha latte, both hot. I was expecting the miso latte to be salty-sweet, but it just tasted like a brown sugar latte with no miso notes (but still tasty). Like many other cafes, this was another milky matcha. I felt like I paid $7.50 for green milk and ended up adding my own matcha at home to it. There's an option to add an extra shot for $1.50 but the price tag is already high as it is. We also got their sesame chocolate chip cookie, matcha financier, and croissant. The cookie is a sweet one but the sesame added a delicious nuttiness that complements the chewy and soft chocolate cookie. Matcha financier was dusted in matcha powder and it was also tasty. The croissant looked flaky but it was all soft on the inside so I'd pass on that.

elderberry yuzu
Ashley T.

overall: 2/5 went when it was still soft opening, waited over an hour, parking might be tough but there are some spots in the back elderflower yuzu soda: 2/5, didn't really taste any yuzu, the soda part wasn't even bubbly? like it was kinda just like tea, it was just a meh drink. i'd only rec if you want something not that sweet or too much flavor earl grey matcha: 3/5, the earl grey foam was strong which is good but matcha wasn't really there. would prob skip this overall banana bread: 4/5, good but too expensive for what it is. of all the things i tried, would only get this one again if i came back

Calamansi espresso tonic, hojicha goma latte
Hoai-Huong N.

Came here after seeing all the hype online - left very disappointed. I came here on a Friday at like11am and it def was crowded due to the lunch rush (so if you go come earlier). Got the hojicha goma latte and the calamansi espresso tonic. No food bc it was def pricey for what it was. Hojicha Goma Latte 1/5 Honestly such a pass. It was really milky with no depth of the hojicha flavor, it was like milk + a bit of hojicha instead of a hojicha latte (if that makes sense). It was quite sweet. The sesame cream top was okay and honestly saved it but I think everything combined made it a pass for me. I think if you're trying to get a good hojicha latte I'd go elsewhere. Not bad but not good. Calamansi Espresso tonic 4/5 This was solid - nothing special but a solid standard espresso tonic. Wasn't too acidic and perfectly sweetened. But it didn't feel very special, couldn't really taste the calamansi flavor which is why I'm docking it a point. Seating here is really tough - I wish they added a bit more seats to their open area instead of putting it only on the sides. Some people ordered for dine in and had a really hard time finding seats - which sucks because they would have trays of food/drinks. They only have one cashier for drinks and then in the back is the food which I thought was an interesting set up since the food cashier was all the way in the back. I do really like the decor here though they def spent a good amount of time making sure the area is nice and they have a lot of parking in the back so it made it easier to find. I think if you go for the vibes it's fine - but don't expect amazing drinks.

The bay area did need another Japonesque style cafe, and Yutori is all the hype at the moment. I'd say we had a pretty good experience here, but we did come on a Monday so I can't speak to the weekend volume. We ordered 2 x earl gray matcha lattes, both with light earl gray cream top and an extra shot of matcha. I'm glad we got the extra shot because without it, I think the matcha would have been underwhelming; which doesn't speak profoundly for the matcha itself. They are generous with the cream top though, so definitely ask for it to be light if you also prefer it less creamy. To my surprise, I did end up liking the earl gray cream more than I thought I would, and enjoyed the drink overall. Now it was not the best, most premium matcha latte I've had, but still one that I'd occasionally come back for. None of the food nor konbini options looked intriguing enough for us to splurge on. Additionally, seating is first come first serve for both indoor and outdoor tables.

Only tried food which has no line because it's around the side. Prices are insane here and while the food is tasty and beautiful looking, I can't justify paying $18 for a tiny sandwich nor nearly $40 for a chirashi that needed more rice and fish. Some patio seating available. Will maybe come back for drinks when the line dies down. I'd like to see this concept survive but at a more affordable price.

The space is intimate, with only 8 counter seats, so you're served directly by chef Li. To my surprise, all of the seats were full on a Friday at lunch. I didn't want to drink too much at lunch, but they had a $29 sake flight of three 1.5 oz pours, which was just the right amount to pair with the sushi but still be able to go back to work after lunch! Pre sushi: 1. Pickled baby ginger: I love this stuff, and he was good about refilling it 2. Crab with Japanese citrus jelly and shiso: a generous amount of sweet, fresh crab 3. Ankimo: two pieces, served with wasabi 4. Signature octopus: massaged 1 hour and stewed 1 hour - very flavorful and tender 5. Steamed abalone: served over soba with abalone liver sauce 6. Seaweed shot 7. Chawanmushi with scallops and caviar Sushi: 1. Hokkaido scallop with yuzu and sea salt 2. Spanish mackerel 3. Akami: lean bluefin tuna 4. Kinmedai: golden eye snapper, torched 5. Isaki: 3 line grunt fish 6. Kelp cured black snapper, shiso leaf, yuzu 7. Chutoro 8. Saba: mackerel with kelp 9. Otoro: torched, topped with uni The scallop and kinmedai were the highlights for me. We also got one of the à la carte add ons: the hand chopped fatty tuna and uni hand roll. To finish: red miso soup At the end, you can watch the chef preparing the bento boxes, which was a good reminder for me to keep my eye out for the next available pickup. The fish was high quality, and the pieces were cut to the right size (I've been to way too many places with unappealingly large cuts). Each course was thoughtfully prepared, and pacing was consistent. For the quality and quantity of food, as well as the service and dining experience, this was a hot deal for $125 a person. We will definitely be coming back!

The presentation is also lovely. I also loved the pickled ginger (that they keep refilling for you). Overall would highly recommend!
