Came here after picking up food from the restaurant next door -- and we were actually customers of this store too, having walked over and made a purchase before even parking. Didn't realize we needed to check in with the staff every time we stepped away. When we returned to our car, we found it completely blocked in by an employee's vehicle -- no uniform, no name tag, nothing identifying him as staff. Just a random-looking guy who decided to trap our car because I didn't respond to him when he approached me (I genuinely had no idea he worked there). To make things worse, multiple people came over to confront us aggressively -- an intimidating and frankly threatening experience over a parking spot. His own words after the fact: "If you hadn't ignored me, I wouldn't have blocked your car." So by his logic, not answering a stranger in a parking lot justifies holding your vehicle hostage. We had a flight to catch and had to apologize just to get our own car back. Judging by the other reviews here, this isn't a one-off -- this is just how they operate. Apparently the parking lot is the most valuable thing on the premises, guarded with more passion than they ever put into the actual business. Which would explain why the store was empty. Here's the advice nobody asked for: your store is next to a high-traffic restaurant. People finish their meal and browse nearby -- that's free foot traffic handed to you. Just when one clerk was about to tell me where to find it, another (thin, short, long black hair, female) lied and claimed there wasn't one. When asked her what she meant by that, she spun an elaborate story claiming it's been locked since yesterday. Nice corner store Compared to other grocery stores, Prices are normal for some items, significantly high for others . Major ick factor: person prepping food at the deli/sandwich station . . . they were slicing meat and had their beautiful, really long, bright red dreads all over the place - the hair wasn't tied up, tied back or set back in any way but loose all around the food, equipment, hitting the counter. First and last time here. Was having dinner across the street and needed to grab a few necessities for the week. I made the terrible choice of stopping by to get them here. Firstly, you know value wise you're in trouble when the Whole Food prices seem like an incredible bargain! Most items seem to be at least $.20 to $1 or 2 more expensive. Secondly, limited selection. Thirdly, I stood at the register confused and alone for a moment bc I could've sworn some girl had been standing their to check people out earlier. Luckily, some other guy noticed me standing there and rung me up. Fourthly, I bought frozen breakfast sausages and didn't notice until after i paid that they rang up more expensive than it was displayed. When I went back to ask the girl, who was now at the register, she said "yeah, that's strange that they rang up $.30 cents more! We better change that tag bc that's a whole $.30 more." But no move to remedy the situation with a price adjustment or return. You know, basic customer service. MOST stores honor their displayed prices but I guess Yummy does not. Also, lastly, their tomato selection was sus. A couple of them had the mold fuzzies and flies buzzing over them. Guys, it's inflation time - I know things are generally more expensive for everyone but do better. And honor the price you list! The produce here is very hit or miss. It's nice to have something that's very neighborhood oriented but the freshness is not always there. I typically have good interactions with the staff, however, I went in on a Saturday night and had the rudest lady at checkout. She did not even look up to acknowledge me. She was chatting with three other staff members and they were clearly in a very deep conversation amongst themselves. I don't need much, just a simple "hello" would make me a happy customer. I used to use yummy.com all the time, and they were excellent all through the pandemic. Although the prices are high, you could always count on them to deliver within a half an hour. The last few months, each time I have tried to use the service the wait has been 45 minutes or more. Right now I'm at an hour and 15 minutes since the order. I also had an issue last time with the wrong product being delivered. The explanation I was given is that they have too many orders and not enough drivers. My advice to them: higher more drivers, or stop telling customers that the delivery will be in 30 minutes or less. read more

Eeeeh, I mean...there are better spots to shop in the area for groceries. It's got way too small a selection and it's just way too cramped.

We don't usually do all of our shopping from Yummy but these days grocery delivery can take up to two days for a drop off. If we need an item or two we don't mind ordering to pick up as it's a 6 minute walk. Needed yellow bananas, hamburger buns and two potatoes for home made burgers. Bananas were green, and one of the potatoes was weirdly deteriorated and when I picked it up out of the bag, it literally broke in half. Now I normally would just say hell with it but it's literally 1/4 of our dinner and consisting the markup on a potato is probably something like 500% I just have to say something. At the time I'm writing this I've waited almost 15 minutes to reach someone. Now 18. Yeah it's a potato but feeling like zero customer service, huge markups for questionable produce ...you really got people by the balls during COVID. read more

I 've been a Yummy.com customer for 30yrs thru the Mid City store, then I moved to Hllywd. and was serviced thru W.Hllywd location. They closed & then was getting delivery from the San Vincente Blvd store. I placed an order on Oct 13 or 14 and never received after they supposedly sent it to me 2x's. They gave it to Uber and driver left it at front door of bldg without letting me know ..I called back in morning, the person I spoke to said he remembered me from way back and was crediting me the charge to my CCard. 5 days later and no credit, I opened a dispute with BofA and called the Silver Lake location as they are the ones to service my area now. The Mgr/CLINT is the hero after this event. He arranged for many things to make it up to a 30 yr customer...Mr. YUMMY, Clint is a keeper and the 5 stars are for Clint, not for YUMMY. Delivery guys are amazing, and I hate to write this review but I will no longer be ordering delivery except when in a pinch. I used to order delivery twice a month and as the service goes, you get a free delivery 'passport' after one delivery that can be used on the next. Twice now I have been notified by email that my passport is expiring in two days, and have gone to order only to see the delivery fee is still there. I have emailed only to get no response. A huge shame, I didn't mind paying slightly higher prices to support a local business and get groceries quick, but I can't accept this. It is an outright price gouge on a loyal customer. read more

I have order groceries 5-6 times for delivery from this location and I each time I have been extremely disappointed. I expect the very high prices, but not the low quality products they deliver. 1.50 per red pepper and they delivered tiny bruised ones. Vegetables and fruits that they select are clearly the least desirable in the store. I can only guess that they know you already bought it by the time the delivery is made and you are unlikely to notice or return things on the spot. Similarly with dairy items--all about to expire. Food good, poor, inconsiderate service. I went to order a salad at the deli and was the only customer there and watched while a woman at the counter finished preparing a sandwich, bagged and boxed it and called someone's name. Meanwhile another customer came and stood beside me and also waited patiently. After the worker finished the sandwich order did she bother to ask us if we were waiting to order and then told us to order at tablets to the side. Seriously? No hello or even noticing how we were waiting until we she was finished. There was no sign anywhere telling us how to order nor pay at the deli. While my food was being prepared I walked around and bought something from the grocery area. When I received my food I expected to pay there as there was something that looked like a register. But no, of course not. So I had to go back and wait in line again. I like that this place has a deli section where you can get fresh salads and sandwiches made. Obviously yummy.com is really more for deliveries but it's nice that you can go in there and buy groceries. They don't have everything but they do have a little bit of everything so that's nice. This is the only real grocery store in the area that I saw along with Trader Joe's and maybe if you get food at the $.99 store. So it's a nice option to have right in the heart of the cute area. This place looks brand-new. Staff is friendly and nice and everything looks clean. read more

Not the most well-stocked neighborhood market I've seen, and some of the quality was surprisingly lacking, but they get an 'A' for effort. Maybe a B+. If you've been to Urban Radish near Little Tokyo, think a slightly toned-down version of that. This one, however, has something they don't: Delivery! So if you live in the area, but don't feel like getting out of your jammies to go grocery shopping, guess what? You got it! Order online. Hence, the name. They do have some pretty great items on hand if you're just there for a quick fill-in trip and can manage to snag some parking. I love that they carry some of the higher-quality shelf-stable and refrigerated items like pre-packaged Stumptown Coffees and Pamela's Gluten-Free cookies. They also happen to sell some boozy drinks, so if you're in the area and don't want to go to a shady liquor store, there's always this place. Not as many options, though. And if you're want to stop in for a quick bite of freshly-prepared food, they even have a small food prep area where you can order something healthy off of their modest menu, or get one of their coffee selections or kombucha on tap. The prices are okay. You could do better. But you have to admit: from the outside, this place looks so LA-Hipster-Health-Nut-Friendly you just have to pop in and have a look. read more

Intrigue with a mixture of a beautiful sunny LA day for a picnic sparked my first visit. It was around lunch time and my tummy was growling for something yummy. I have never heard of Yummy.com, I have only passed by a dozen times. First impression: - Cheesy name - Employee at the register, is not a greeter! - The place is urber spacious but the space is not used to its full potential. Their produce section is okay. Their kale looked a little dated. I was hoping to find fresh cut fruits that was ready to eat but no luck. They had a lot of vegan options which was awesome! I ended up purchasing vegan Pad Thai and a cute little boxed water. The vegan pad thai was yummy! It was around $5 dollars, which was pricey, however experience is priceless. Their shelves weren't fully stocked and they had this awkward section of water bottles that can be purchased in bulk just chilling by a wall. It was a weird placement I thought. I'm not completely counting out Yummy.com. If I'm around the area and want a quick snack, I would visit again. Hopefully, they get more organized, get more items in and use their space better! read more

I am happy to have this place in the neighborhood. The location is convenient if you are on foot. (I have not tried their delivery service--- I have only been to the store in person.) The staff is very friendly and the place is neat and orderly in appearance. They seem to follow Covid protocols. My only issue is that prices are $1 to $3 higher than they should be for things like coffee beans, half & half, and yogurt. The produce looks great but it is super expensive, too. Perfect for what it is. As someone who decided to try upending a three-year inexorable & crushing & bedridden depression by diving straight into a cross-continent move to start a fairly demanding PhD program, I am extremely the target audience for Yummy.com, which fills in my grocery gaps when I just can't adult at any given moment, and ensures I don't starve or run out of toilet paper or fail to feed my cat, or show up empty-handed at a mandatory academic potluck. I've used Yummy.com as a grocery delivery service approximately once a month for the past four months. In the five times I've ordered -- and my orders are always weirdly enormous and complicated -- they've only ever failed to deliver two of the items I asked for: a baguette, which they called and told me they did not in fact have in stock, and did not charge me for, and a head of lettuce, which they did charge me for, but it was ninety-nine cents, so really, eh. There's not much range/diversity of choice (i.e. if you want tomatoes, you click tomatoes, there aren't seventy options of heirloom cherry tomato or vegan cocktail tomato or farm-fed beefsteak tomato -- it's basically either you want big tomatoes or little tomatoes and now we're onto the next. Can you tell I have kind of a thing for tomatoes, I actually love having seventy tomato options, but that is not what I come to Yummy.com for! I come to Yummy.com to not have to make basically any decisions whatsoever). Sorry that sentence got away from me. The point of that paragraph was, Yummy.com isn't where you want to go for your regular in-depth biggo grocery shop. It doesn't have the in-item range (it does have a great range in terms of categories of things it offers), and is pretty over-priced. But not that overpriced. It's more like, you're getting what you're getting for approximately the correct price, but if you were at a bigger store with more selection, you might choose a different thing that's a lower price. Anyway everything I've gotten there has been great quality, produce included; one time I accidentally ordered one-ply toilet paper, but that was my bad. (That, actually, was extremely overpriced. Why does anyone make one-ply toilet paper now that we've discovered all the other plys.) Good quality; fair prices; super reliable delivery by lovely humans who are nice to you; congratulations now you have that weird household item you need and some vitamins and tequila and broccoli and a carton of cigarettes, and it all came in exactly thirty minutes, like EXACTLY thirty minutes every time, and you only had to pretend to be wearing pants for like 45 seconds and got to keep working the whole time you would've been otherwise shlepping around and doing a whole thing about gently gripping all the avocados at the real store to see when they're going to be ripe or arguing with yourself about how many jalapenos you need. Because Yummy.com knows. You need five. Five jalapenos. Strong recommend for agoraphobes, depressives, procrastinators, people who will not eat if there is not food waved directly in their face, etc. Also anyone in a pinch -- folks about to come over and you forgot a couple recipe ingredients but you're mid-challah-baking and can't get out in time. This service is good though struggles to deal with even the tiniest wrinkle. If your order arrives and everything's there, present and correct then all will be well. But if something goes wrong - an item is missing, or you've been charged incorrectly, then it quickly falls apart. While it gets resolved eventually it takes an unreasonable amount of effort to do so, and mainly because they are just so hard to get a hold of. Had several instances of this with the West Hollywood Yummy branch. Keep this service for desperate, last minute, one-off things but be prepared to invest weeks of effort resolving any issues which might crop up. read more
