Once you're in, the restaurant is a quiet, modern, swish place. Service is very good: we asked for vegetarian variations of the dishes on the menu, and they were very happy to oblige. Green tea comes in a free-to-refill pot for your whole table, which is a nice touch. The crockery is a piece of art in itself (but then I'm a ceramics fan). And the food? Really good. Beats Yo Sushi. (OK - so that's not quite in the same market). Not expensive. Good sized portions. Definitely recommended.

Teishoku is served with steamed rice, miso soup, pickles and vegetable side. Everything in the set dishes was good. Pork was juicy and lightly marinated. The vegetable side was seaweed that accompanied nicely with the rice. ----- Onigiri & Miso Soup Set: two lightly seasoned sticky rice balls with your choice of fillings (£7.80). Add side of pickles and vegetables for £2.20. Filling choices were avocado, umeboshi, gohan desu yo, teriyaki mayo chicken, tuna mayo, smoked salmon. My brother picked tuna mayo and umeboshi. I tried a bite of the umeboshi unigiri. The rice was fresh and the pickled plum was extremely sour as expected. ----- Matcha Latte: frothy steamed milk whisked into matcha (£4.55). The quality of matcha was decent, although the drink itself was incomparable to the gyokuro that had such a refined taste. ----- Gyokuro: full bodied umami flavor (£4.85). A green tea with quite the peculiar flavor. It does require extra brewing time. ----- Make sure to book in advance. A couple that walked in after we were seated for our 12 PM Saturday reservation were told that the restaurant was fully booked until 2 PM. Seating in the outdoor garden was available, but it was too sunny and hot. Guest Wi-Fi is available.

Chicken Teriyaki was just skewered boiled chicken, dry flavourless and underseasoned, Chicken Karagi came out soaked in sauce and had none of the crispyness associated with the dish, Sushi came with a swimmingpool of soy sauce (I'd say about 40ml of sauce for each dish), they cheaped out on the sofshell crab, over filled the cheaper rolls and all using unseasoned and undercooked rice. They also used a lot of chilli in their spicy roll. The tempura came oily, soggy and underseasoned. The ramen was saltier than a instantpot noodle and had the same powdery texture. Overall the food is pretty aweful. Oh and the chef claims to have come from Shoryu (one of the best ramen places in London)... The staff were on auto pilot and don't know when to quit either. I asked for the bill 3 times. Server had to get the manager first, manager had to get the chef first and 2 of the serving staff just ignored me. Their menu is also apallingly layed out. Almost like 3 different people wrote it. The lighting where I sat was a weird violet colour and gave me a headache too. We got the bill (£80 for the three of us and that includes a 20% reduction), paid and went to the local kabab place which was 10 out of 10 in comparison.
