Worst. Dentist. Ever. Nevermind the smelly, filthy office and the cobwebs in the corners or the extra room stacked to the ceiling with old, collapsing boxes and the door wide open for everyone (well... apparently one patient at a time) to see. My husband was referred to him because he was the only periodontal provider in our area and in our network. We arrived for his appointment 20 minutes early. He asked us to leave and come back at our appointment time. No one was there, just us. We left and came back at which time he gaves us a form (created on a typewriter) to complete, which took 10-15 minutes. Why couldn't we fill that out while we were waiting? He was more interested in seeing our actual insurance card and wanted a copy of the paperwork showing how much we had paid out of pocket for dental implants. Again, why? Our regular dentist office had sent over full x-rays , but he insisted on saying he needed more and that they would have to be paid by us because insurance won't cover them and he just "needed" them for his (paper) file. Nothing in the entire office is electronic, not even a computer in sight. Fast forward to the exam, noting all of his equipment is out-dated, and the following transpires: he comes out into the area where I was waiting, and had his first-day-on-the-job assistant follow us into the exam room where he proceeded to lecture my husband and me (and his assistant) for 2 hours, quizzing us on what he said! He started with, "So what causes periodontal disease?" I said, "Bacteria". He said, "Yes", and then proceeded to school us for this length of time all to say, "Bacteria causes it." He would have kept going, but I cut him off and said we had another appointment to get to. Anyone besides me wondering why I was called back to discuss my husband's teeth? It's not like I brush them. The appointment was at 1:00, we left at 4:45 (without paying for the stupid x-rays he didn't need). He pulled old, dirty toothbrushes out of a drawer and told us we needed to go buy some that looked like those and where we might be able to find them. Then he wanted my husband to come back and show him how he brushes his teeth for 6 months before he would talk about the necessary surgery. WHAT?! Needless to say, we would never go back. I have filed a grievance with our insurance company (DeltaCare). My husband went to another out-of-network provider and had the necessary surgery within a couple weeks. The whole process was like comparing night and day and yes, we would rather pay $5K out of pocket then ever go back to this disaster. Anyone giving this man 5 stars is either dilusional or related. read more
