Worst medical experience I've ever had…read more I went to Pronto Medical on Fisher Blvd for an annual physical and a referral for an MRI due to a known meniscus tear. Dr. Joyce never examined my knee at all--only checked my vitals. He was dismissive and made an inappropriate and medically inaccurate comment. Despite being in extreme pain and significant inflammation, I was not offered crutches, a brace, pain relief, or even basic guidance--not even Tylenol or ibuprofen. The front desk staff was equally unprofessional. I was given confusing paperwork, no clear explanation of where my MRI was scheduled, then accused of being "nasty" when I asked for clarification. I left frustrated, confused, and still in severe pain. Three weeks later, when I finally went for my MRI, I was informed that Dr. Joyce's office acknowledged the initial call and stated the referral would be faxed, but it was never sent and all subsequent calls were ignored. The imaging center attempted to contact the office multiple times, and my MRI had to be canceled and rescheduled, delaying my care by weeks. Because of these failures, I went over a month and a half with a bucket-handle meniscus tear, enduring unnecessary pain and delayed treatment. She spends time to get to know you and when you leave there is a feeling of "someone cares" that is with you. Her office is usually full which I recommend to be a patient person because everyone gets the same great exam as you will. Currently she is not accepting new patients which I suspect is because she does not wish to cut her time away from the patients she already has. Her Staff is cordial and always knows who I am and very efficient. For new patients there is a NP that I have not met but if she works with Dr. Sahay you know she is a caring person with great skill.

She referred me to a surgeon who performed a procedure that had a positive life-altering impact on me. Be prepared to wait because she spends time with her patients...which is a good thing and rare these days. You don't get treated like cattle there. It is a low-budget operation though. Frequently the computers are running slow, but the exam rooms are kept neat and clean. I only have two complaints: 1. It's too hot in the waiting room 2. Some of the other patients arrive with very bad body odor and/or reeking of smoke Don't come here looking for pain pill prescriptions. They won't put up with your shit! They no longer take NEW NJ Family Care patients.

In the interim some friends that I spoke to said that they would never go to Community for various reasons. My experience !! It was seamless. We pulled up to the entrance and somebody was right there to valet our car, I was directed to the lab area, and had all my tests done, it was so easy. I met a nurse there I believe her name was Liz and she was so friendly and comforting. But from the time I checked in at the desk to the time I left everybody that I came in contact with was wonderful!! I had my surgery on February 26th and I went home on February 27. From start to finish it was a very pleasant experience. I just now wish that I hadn't been afraid to do it and I put it off for way too long. My Dr is Dr.Nugent and he is absolutely the best. So absolutely no complaints if I had to do it over again I would certainly go to your hospital. It was a brutal five day stay of poor decisions that increased her pain and discomfort. The nurses were kind, but frustrated with orders that did not make sense for her care. The care was neglectful and badly handled. The only true practical help we received was from the hospice care nurses who helped us a better care plan for mom. I felt the doctors wanted to prove they could fix an unfixable problem. Be prepared to advocate for yourself if you must go there. Definitely, not the hospital it used to be.

Now I will have to return to the office tomorrow, to have this rectified. They had ONE TASK TO COMPLETE, but it was too much to ask. Now I am in pain, I had my Sunday morning wasted and I'll have to do it all over again tomorrow. Why is it so hard for people to be responsible and do their job? I am majorly disappointed.
