Their pricing was competitive and they delivered everything they had promised, and then some: JRM did QA (quality assurance) on the project after the work was done, proactively made a punch list, and asked for additional feedback from us before calling the job complete. It was a pleasure doing business with them! *This scope of work included removing several evergreen trees and existing stumps, replacing them with new plants, clearing two beds of rocks, mitigating the soil for the new plants, installing/replacing sprinkler lines and heads, creating a dry creek bed rock formation, and trimming other trees.

The aerator ran over some of the heads. They killed the new little trees by spraying poison around the base so they did not have to edge around them. I did not give them permission to spray poison in my yard. They refused to give me any compensation for the trees. I have used JRM for almost twenty years. Our project…read moreincluded design services, complete removal of existing backyard landscaping and patio, save for one tree, pouring of a new concrete patio and hot tub pad, installation of a gas fire pit and gas line for our grill, new sod, 5 large trees, around 20 plants, and a new irrigation system to include new valves and lines. Many aspects of the project fell short, and if you don't want to read any further, my recommendation is to look elsewhere for your landscaping needs. Pros -Very solid design work, our backyard originally looked great and the design is much more functional and private. Cons -Patio: the subcontractor ran short on concrete and I witnessed them pulling what was left from the pump lines and a catch tray to complete the project. The result is a portion of our patio that has incorrect drainage/pooling, spalling and cracking. -Irrigation: and entirely new system, including valves, was supposed to be installed. None of the valves were replaced and I am now having significant problems that will require a complete replacement of the 20 year old valves. -Plants: Nick assured me that the 7 boxwoods he had planned would hold up to my two male dogs. They were dead within 3 months, replaced under his warranty, and were all dead again the following spring. In researching, it turns out that boxwoods are not tolerant of dog urine whatsoever and something else should have been used. -Fire pit: beautiful centerpiece in our backyard. Unfortunately, it was slammed together at the last minute and the internal structure couldn't support the lava rock. I rebuilt it myself less than 6 months after the project was completed. Lawn: extremely lumpy and uneven, is going to require a bunch of sand and labor to get it where it needs to be. I spoke with Nick many times after our project was completed to address some of these issues (not all were immediately present or known about) and was brushed off and made to feel like I was putting him out...after cutting him a check for $60k. Not only is the value not there, I am now paying a second time for things that weren't done correctly the first time and in some case were borderline fraudulent like the sprinkler valves.

When he fertilized my lawn, instead of applying fertilizer only to the grass, he drove the fertilizer spreader all over my new concrete walkways, leaving dozens of ugly rust stains everywhere. I have spent hundreds of dollars on power washing and other attempts to resolve it and such attempts have made the problem worse, so I now have rust + discoloration all over my walkways, which is a major eyesore. It will cost me many thousands of dollars to fix this problem that Dan caused, since I will need to rip out and reinstall 3 new concrete pathways and a giant patio. Dan's response was extremely disappointing, he did not take responsibility and there was 0 concern or effort to fix the problem. I would caution against using Dan if you want someone who is thoughtful and careful on your property. I hope this review will ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else.

The work was done quickly and efficiently even in this summer's blistering heat. In just three days, the yard went from dirt to beautiful, tiered flagstone walls. The quality of this team's work is excellent. Sergio, the owner, provided a complete written quote that outlined the pertinent details and was supported with AI generated images of the "after" look, which confirmed that we were on the same page regarding the design. Once underway, the job progressed quickly and smoothly. (We're doing the planting, which is in progress.) Would we turn the SRG Hardscaping again should we need stone or brick work in the future? Absolutely.

SRG removed and replaced our garage slab (smooth finish), as well as our entire front porch, patio…read moreand a sidewalk in front of the driveway (all stamped concrete). Both had been damaged by long term soil settlement and an unfortunately aggressive tree root. The interior garage slab process went extremely well with no issues. They were able to remove the tree root, re-prep the substrate and pour a new slab that slopes to the door so water from wet vehicles will drain. The exterior porch was a bit more of a challenge. We had experienced significant settlement of the soil against the house due to improper backfill and compaction during the original construction. SRG excavation down approx. 6' and removed all of the bad soil and backfilled with road base and recycled concrete while compacting in lifts. Once this was complete, they prepped and poured and new front porch, patio and sidewalk in front of the garage/driveway. Unfortunately the concrete pour did not go according to plan. The concrete material was not per specification (we think it had flyash in it from the plant). This made the concrete material sticky and difficult to place and stamp. After 24 hours of cure time, we noticed that the surface of the concrete was starting to develop many small hairline cracks (plastic shrinkage cracks) throughout the surface of the concrete. After multiple discussions with SRG, and Sergio's subsequent discussions with the concrete supplier, I made the decision to have all of the stamped patio removed and re-poured. Sergio at SRG displayed his business integrity by agreeing to perform this re-work at no additional cost to me, while also being told by the concrete supplier that they took no responsibility for the issue. SRG returned approx. 3 weeks after the initial pour, removed all of the stamped concrete, and re-poured the entire porch, patio and sidewalk in a weekend. Again, at no additional cost to me for the issue. Although our project didn't go exactly as planned, I would still recommend SRG for your project as they acted with a high level of business integrity and did what was necessary to provide the client with a great finished product.
