I was amazed and delighted, I ordered the Grilled Baguette with Rocket and Mushroom Risotto it was very tasty indeed the Risotto was cooked really well creamy and sticky. I then ordered the Duck L'Orange for main, it came with fresh mixed veggies and potatoes which was a decent serving and very filling. The staff here are really fantastic they are always attentive and really make your dining experience enjoyable they are happy to offer recommendations and I loved the wine choice they made for us, it was a smooth, velvety Cabernet Sauvignon, which went really well with our meal and finished the night off perfectly.

The music is cranked up to 11 and it felt like the speakers were located right next to where orders are placed. Having to shout your order to someone that doesn't seem to care is frustrating, to say the least. Also, we arrived at lunchtime on a weekday, which is probably why we didn't get to see any "SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS". Despite having to deal with poor service, the food is darn good. The Pita with a Bone was the most tender and delicious lamb I've had in a long time. The bone just needed a slight tug and slipped right out. I loved every bite of that pita. They almost have the trifecta for what makes a bad restaurant: Insouciant staff? Check. Obnoxiously loud music? Check. Terrible food? Not... check... I couldn't decide between entrees so for such a cheap price I got two. I had fried wontons and fried tofu entrees and for my main was polenta haven. The wontons were delicious with a lovely sweet sauce drizzled over them. The fried tofu came with a gorgeous sauce for dipping but the masterpiece of this place was the polenta haven! I remember being apprehensive at first. The shop does not look the most welcoming of environments. But after tasting their kebabs I was convinced. This is just down the road from Yah Yahs and the busy part of Smith Street. That makes it the perfect spot to go to after getting a little bit peckish/drunk on a night out. A word of warning: as with most places like this, I'd stick to the kebabs. This is their specialty and this is what they do best. I always stick to a kebab and they are pretty cheap too.

(Contextual note here: pide is a dish where it's a flat loaf of Turkish bread with a filling inside. I generally go either the sausage, or the sausage and egg.) Disconsolate, I wandered further down Smith until I came to Efes Kebabs. And then, lo and behold, I was happy again! Not only do they serve pide, but they charge about $4 for one. As you'd expect, they seem to do the standard kebabs as well. And how was my pide, do you ask? It was good. It wasn't something you'd eat before a date, as it had enough garlic to depopulate Transylvania, but that's kinda what I want in my pide.
