Like many girls, I do not play when it comes to my tresses, so believe me when I tell you that you can trust this woman with your hair care needs. She stays up to date on current trends and is constantly improving upon her color game. I've been going to her for years (over a decade) for my color. A few years ago, I needed (wanted) fuchsia (yes, hot pink!) highlights. She put the prettiest, most fierce fuchsia color in my hair. I got compliments everywhere I went. So naturally, when DD expressed a desire for a particular shade of red locks, there was no question as to who we'd use to get the job done. We were flying home (to STL) for the holidays, so I called Loretta and she was sweet enough to squeeze us into her very hectic schedule. My DD is SO pleased with the results. Loretta was able to get the exact shade of red that DD wanted; not too bright, but not too dark. And the best part of it is that her hair is still shiny and healthy; not dull and dried out, like after some coloring treatments (elsewhere, of course). Now I want a nice shade of red for the summer. I'd better book my flight to STL, and get 'er done! I truly appreciate Loretta's professionalism and courtesy. She inspected DD's hair, let me know that a trim would be needed, and she provided me with a detailed breakdown of how much everything would cost me BEFORE doing the work. I love this! There's nothing worse than a "surprise" after the work has already been done. Furthermore, she is all about healthy hair and hair care. She will inform you of any risks associated with certain colors (like blondes), and she encourages healthy hair practices and routines. I focused on hair color, but Loretta is great with cuts and so many things. She works with all hair types too, from fine to course, natural to relaxed. There are other professionals working at PT Salon, including the owner, and everyone is always nice and welcoming. My experience, however, is only with Loretta. PT Salon is located in a strip mall with Las Palmas restaurant, west of I-170, but east of Lindbergh & Ashby, on the south side of Page Ave. I suggest calling ahead for an appointment. Hours vary by stylist.

This Hair "Boutique" came highly recommended by a colleague at work as a highly qualified stylist capable of doing the crochet style that I was looking for. I have very fine and thin hair that requires using a net and double knotting each twist to ensure the twists stay secure. I tried to explain this to Monet, the owner and only stylist employed at this salon, but she informed me that she would use neither. The end result looked great but three twist fell out before I even made it home. Subsequently the entire front section fell out by the end of the night. I called her the next day to see of she could redo it the way I asked her to to begin with. After trying to reach her several times throughout the next day she never returned any of my calls. On the third day she texted me saying that not only would not repair the section which fell out but was also not willing to continue to be my stylist and that I should find someone else. I tried in vain to contact her so we could discuss her response but she refused to return my calls or texts. So if that wasn't unprofessional enough I stopped by her shop so I could show her how he twists were continuously slipping out, and here's the kicker: SHE CALLED THE POLICE ON ME AND ASKED THEM TO ESCORT ME FROM THE PREMISES FOR HARASSMENT!! Apparently, she is not qualified to work with thin hair and just didn't have the courage to admit it. These are pics of her "expertise: July 3, 2019 6:58pm - July 4, 2019 8:42am

Even before moving, I had done pretty extensive research for a trustworthy hair stylist in anticipation and Studio 89 was one of the top picks; even after monitoring my options over the span of a month, it remained the best. I tried to make an appointment online but had some technical issue so I called instead. This was all done the morning of, and yet they were able to have me come in later that afternoon. It's a clean, small space but it's got everything you can imagine. There's plenty of parking in front of the salon. Tiffany was my stylist, and I was warned that she was going to charge more than the other stylists due to her experience (note -- all stylists charge differently based on this). As a Californian who has paid way too much for the simplest of cuts, I can genuinely say Tiffany's surcharge was 1000% worth it. She was so kind and personable, and that really made the experience. She gave me her honest thoughts and was very communicative throughout the process. She really gave me the exact hairstyle I asked for after barely flashing her a photo, and I'm so endlessly impressed! Despite constantly cycling through short hair, I've actually never liked myself in it very much. However, Tiffany's work allowed me to feel more confident in rocking a short cut than I've ever felt! I've received tons of genuine compliments on her work, and I feel so lucky to have met her. Tiffany -- thanks for the sushi recs and candid conversation, and for being my first friend in St. Louis!
