Against my better judgement I rented a home through CDC for a year…read more I was moving to the area from out of town for a work relocation and literally had one day in Lakeland to pick somewhere to live. There was a home for rent by CDC that I was interested in and I went by to talk to them. No one offered to help me. I eventually got someone to acknowledge me and told them I'd like to see the property and was told that they didn't have time to show the property that day. I explained I was in town for one day and would put the deposit down today if I could just see the property and they told me I could come back another day. I ended up renting the property sight unseen and luckily the home was nice. Then came the fun part. After a year in the home, the owner decided he might want to sell the property. Now Aaron/Jada are trying to get a real estate commission so they tell the owner the home will be hard to show with me in it. I receive a post dated letter telling me to vacate. I went to CDC to inquire about the fact that the letter is dated a week before I received it and four days before the postmark (the letter was conveniently dated so that they didn't have to provide an extra month's notice per the lease). I also asked why I wasn't told verbally about this when I had called to check on this situation. I was basically told they didn't know anything. They didn't know why the date was wrong. They didn't know why they hadn't told me. They didn't know ANYTHING. Conincidentally the owner wasn't able to find any buyer interested in paying the price that Aaron and Jada probably told them they could and they had to rent it out again at the same rate I was paying but with two months less rent in their pocket. This company was NOT good to work with as a renter. AND They did the property owner NO favors. I personally own rental properties in some of the areas I have lived before and CDC embodies the type of property manager that I run from. They're just there to collect the rent and take some off the top. Nearly everyone I dealt with here had an air of superiority to them and I never felt treated fairly or with respect. RUN!

My son's birthday came up and I had forgotten to give my change of address to his grand parents. My ex-husband sent a package for him and he had my old address which was the house I rented with Danjo. We didn't get the package, so I contacted Mary Jo. She immediately responded to me and contacted the new tenants. I was able to pick up the package. My son's grandparents contacted me and his aunt asking if they have received the birthday cards that they mailed. Each had a check and a gift card. I contacted Mary Jo again. Not only did she check if it was mailed sure To my old address, but she also brought to my current address! I told her I would pick it up, but she went out of her way to bring it to me. Mary Jo treated me and my son like we were family when I was renting with Dan Jo. And she still does. They are great people. They will respond to your needs. My unit remained vacant for three months without a tenant or any discernible progress. My calls went unanswered, and I had to repeatedly contact her via text messages, to which she would typically respond two days later. When I brought my concerns to upper management, she attempted to rectify the situation, but unfortunately, it was beyond repair. Ultimately, I had to terminate the agreement. I then engaged a management company that proved to be exceptionally proactive and communicative. They successfully identified a new tenant within a week, and the tenant moved in the following week. It is truly regrettable to operate and work in such circumstances when one cannot conduct business professionally. I have unfortunately expended my time and resources by placing my trust in a central Florida management company that proved to be untrustworthy.

When we first contacted them, we'd seen a house that we wanted to have a look at inside. They met us there that day and showed us around. It wasn't their listing so they hadn't yet seen it either. It was a terrible house inside. As in, super bad. Not for us. But as we were there, they asked the right questions about what we were looking for, in what areas, etc. They searched and showed us 6 (I think) properties in person within a week, emailing TONS of others every day, and we made an offer on one at the end of that first week. They worked hard for us during the whole process of inspections and paperwork, etc. We even hit some snaffoos with the paperwork (due to our particular HOA), and they went above and beyond to get it taken care of. We were working on a time crunch because our lease on our apartment was about to expire but they got us in our new place on time. We will forever recommend them and when we resell and buy again, we're calling them up!
